Our room is about understanding the WHY and being able to ANTICIPATE and EXECUTE the trades on your own.

If it’s not real time, it’s not worth posting in the room. We pride ourselves on keeping the room noise free during trading hours. Late alerts and random chatter is considered off topic during the hours of 9AM to 4:00PM.

Here’s an inside look at the chat room and trades made today. I realize not everyone has had the opportunity to be in chat. I realize that everyone can assume what the room is like, despite not being in it, but what I’d encourage traders to do is to look at the trades made, look at the charts, look at entry/exits scale in and scale out and understand the plan on each.

Again, it’s not about following the leader; it’s about understanding the process, understanding the trade at hand and the “WHY”, and then turning that into a trade that makes sense for the end user.

Many trades taken were prepared from either 1) scan last night or 2) pre market.

On low float tickers AND/OR crowded names, my personal preference is to give a general idea of what I am looking for for two main reasons:

1.) They are low float and should not be alerted EXACT entry/exits as they are NOT liquid enough!
2.) If it’s a crowded name it’s best to trade your OWN idea because, if the name is ALREADY crowded, it’s only going to get more crowded!

Below are my trades in my Wedbush account and Etrade.

Etrade main gainers were the GEVO long and TASR short (which you’ll see in the chat logs). You can plot these ones on the charts yourself because both Etrade and Wedbush don’t offer the same neat feature that DAS Trader does, allowing you to plot your entry and exits (don’t worry I’ll show you how to as well).

LOCK – I tried twice on dips, the first time I added to the win and turned a small gain into a loser, second time lost a few cents no big deal.

WPCS – I’ve got to talk about this one because the trade really shows the difference between a front side vs. back side move — back side being that you have a PLACE to be wrong and PLACE to stop out.

I had no interest in the short on the way up these things can run like the wind (as you saw with RJET yesterday) for me I wanted to see a double top peak out a few times and then once the prior support level become resistance I can safely short (with a plan) all pops as long as that area does not reclaim and grind higher.

My trades and charts are below. I’ve left out MEET as there’s nothing really to learn from it. It was just a small money scalp on the $2 break and newsletter alert. On GEVO I’ll add the “better” trade that I made as this ETC account was only a scalp off the news (I didn’t alert) the trade I want to share is the perfect ABCD set up that formed that we discuss in the DVDs.

AKS

One of my FAVORITE style set ups !! As I wrote in the last blog post, I had a killer start to the year and then started some bad habits like being OVER patient and really letting a lot of gains get away. I ended up giving back a significant portion of first two months in May and June on just about a dozen trades by turning big wins into losers plus a few other stubborn trades  – GENE, PBMD, SRPT to name a few.

The flaw? I was anticipating trades w/ less than perfect volume.  In other words, my GO TO parabolic style trades out of the morning emotion MUST HAVE a TON of volume. I cannot anticipate these trades if they are up on 100k, 200k or less than 1 million + volume. Otherwise, it turns into a trap style move and puts me on the wrong side of the trade FAST.

AKS had it all! Finally a big volume trader and perfect reactive trade – adding to winner. Another popular question I get – how to add in? Hopefully these help.

GEVO

I had one scalp earlier, which was news related, but had hardly any volume so was not something I alerted per my rules of chat. HOWEVER, later on, 4-6 million shares later that’s a totally different story:

Key for this breakout play was:

1.) The volume was huge — way above average
2.) News came out this morning
3.) Known former runner
4.) Positive tweet right near this breakout
5.) Solid .10 risk vs. the potential reward of .30-.50 + upside

Here is the ABCD set up:

ITEK 

Goal on this one was to anticipate out of the gate and add into a winner, staying small along the way. Last week worked out perfectly with the dip buys until last Thursday where I said I am no longer trusting this thing on dips, as it was starting to put in lower highs and each pop was getting sold into more and more.

This week I wanted serious wash outs, gap downs and reactive trades. The most size I’d trade was 500 to 1000 prior to being on the RIGHT side of the trade since I need .50-1.00 risk. I let it consolidate, put in a higher low, and give me the set RISK vs. potential reward I need. That never happened today. It had a wash out, I got long 500, 200 and 500 shares, and that was it – squeaked out a profit I did not trust this any more as it seemed like the squeeze of prior days had now passed.

I’m not a fan of this trade. I would have stopped $14.50s if I had any size.

LPSN

Reactive trade out of the gate, much like RJET yesterday where it had a gap up. Price held had an expectation to add in $9s over/under but never really needed to. There was a huge push out of the gate, spiked right up through $10 sold 1/2 and then slowly sold the last two batches. Any trade for me prior to 10AM is always reactive and ALWAYS a scalp – patience style trades I focus on after 10AM.

SGYP

If it doesn’t go UP on good news — there’s one way to go MOST of the time (with set risk of course). Looks like many investors (not traders) were LONG into this event so more of a sell the news/expected situation in my eyes – thus trading with that in mind.

This one by far had the most potential and a really great job by AT09 in the room – I traded this in ETC and Wedbush – my plan as you likely saw in the chat logs was to short into pops using $9.60s as the guide for the play (ie: peaks out at that level, likely caves in and washes out or starts to base and perk). In Wedbush, I protected and covered, ETC left the trade on since I only had 1-2k at that point. I added in as the trade confirmed, $9.50s failed, and and she washed right out !!

TASR 

Great one as they warned for next quarter. Wasn’t really reacting yet, and for ME I needed to see a rebound and how it reacted. So many times in the past, TASR and I have gone on dates and let’s just say it didn’t end well a majority of the time. Massive gains dwindled to flat/scratch OR losses. This stock has such a tendency to rebound and power forward that I need to see the stock PROVE to me that it is topping out again.

Below are my Etrade order entries in/out of the name – I also traded this in Wedbush with a $30.45 entry. I started in small made an immediate $800 in both accounts and then noticed it was getting super heavy again on the bounce at $29.50, so I went ahead and used houses $$ to risk. I added to the short at $29 and got an immediate $1.20 washout – damn right I was covering.
