What is a Volatility Halt?
A volatility halt occurs when a stock experiences high price volatility and trading of the stock is temporarily paused (or “halted”).
The IU Chat Room offers a feature to help you track when stocks are halted and when they resume trading.
How to Enable Volatility Halt Tracking
Navigate to Chat Settings.
Under Chat Alerts look for the volatility halt settings.
You have three options for how you want to be alerted to volatility halts:
- Audio halt notifications – Receive an audio/voice alert whenever a stock is halted
- Show volatility halt inline text – Receive an inline message in chat whenever a stock is halted
- Auto launch volatility halt timer – Automatically start a timer to alert you when a stock resumes trading.
