[May 6, 2012 8:02:16 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive cool couple guys here tonight

[May 6, 2012 8:02:25 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive alright ill go over the questions open it up .. we can look at some charts

[May 6, 2012 8:02:27 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive all that jazz

[May 6, 2012 8:02:36 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive and figure out where and what you’re having the most issues with

[May 6, 2012 8:02:41 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive and go from there

[May 6, 2012 8:03:02 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive As always I’ll go over the Q’s .. stay ON TOPIC don’t ask me random when discussing another I’ll ignore it

[May 6, 2012 8:03:07 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive will ask if any Qs after each one I go over

[May 6, 2012 8:03:18 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: VHC on Friday, you write in scan “tomorrow don’t underestimate this thing always is stronger than you think … can get towards $30-31s tomorrow – if it test $30 I’d watch for parabolic and then prob settles around $30s”. Um, that’s pretty much what happened. How the heck did you predict that?

[May 6, 2012 8:03:26 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: Magnet on the $30 range … squeeze through 30s with a range like it had the prior day … $1 parabolic pretty realistic. It pulled back pretty quick but definitely held it’s ground well.

[May 6, 2012 8:04:04 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive usually on these things I look for the next whole dollar mark .. take into account the range … and make a game plan from there

[May 6, 2012 8:04:31 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive if it’s only trading .20-40 cent range nearing $5 test I may look for a push 5.20-5.30 before it settles

[May 6, 2012 8:04:38 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive vs. soemthing like VHC that has $4-6 of range

[May 6, 2012 8:05:07 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive trading NEAR $30 .. most people start thinking $30 when its $27-28 etc … and then if it does break and parabolic…

[May 6, 2012 8:05:14 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive $1-1.50 seems reasonable for a speed up

[May 6, 2012 8:05:39 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive the main thing is like $9.50s .. everyone starts thinking $10s …

[May 6, 2012 8:05:45 PM EDT]     sotorious             just becuase its at a whole dollar mark like 30 dollars does that mean all whoel dollar marks are magnets? or is there other factors to consider?

[May 6, 2012 8:05:46 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive $17 $18 .. $19 …

[May 6, 2012 8:05:59 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive $20 is major magnet

[May 6, 2012 8:06:03 PM EDT]     basher  why do you say magnet $30? are you looking at daily chart?

[May 6, 2012 8:06:06 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive right whole/half dollar always magnet spots

[May 6, 2012 8:06:20 PM EDT]     sotorious             for a possible quick push higher.

[May 6, 2012 8:06:27 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive Psychological price magnets

[May 6, 2012 8:06:33 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive like we always discuss

[May 6, 2012 8:06:33 PM EDT]     sotorious             i see

[May 6, 2012 8:06:44 PM EDT]     vsc385   where would you have placed your stop at?

[May 6, 2012 8:06:50 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive what is the next price Psychologically that you and many are thinking of etc

[May 6, 2012 8:07:15 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive if full size .. prob .50 cents or so on VHC but with range like that … hardly going to be in full size

[May 6, 2012 8:07:33 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive so just have to stay smaller size and give it some good range until it settels nad you’re up and if you want to add .. use houses money

[May 6, 2012 8:08:11 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive I was judging based off $31 ish … prob $.50-1.00 risk against

[May 6, 2012 8:08:20 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive $31 ish since I had said it night before was my area of interest

[May 6, 2012 8:08:28 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive had it consolidated and slowly been grinding higher

[May 6, 2012 8:08:49 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive I’d move on, hence all the times I said make sure you guys are covering when we got .50-.70 move real fast

[May 6, 2012 8:08:55 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive comes right back many times

[May 6, 2012 8:09:02 PM EDT]     basher  you said $4-6 range. does that factor in? range on Friday was only about $2

[May 6, 2012 8:09:09 PM EDT]     vsc385   didn’t you short it at 30.55 though?

[May 6, 2012 8:09:23 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive please take bold off

[May 6, 2012 8:09:36 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive basher – $4-6 range the day before

[May 6, 2012 8:09:49 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive factors into the fact that we’re not looking for .20-.30 type of risk

[May 6, 2012 8:09:56 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive and just kinda gives you a clue as to the size …

[May 6, 2012 8:10:04 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive you’re dealing with .50-1+ possible moves

[May 6, 2012 8:10:10 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive you saw the candlesa nd how much it could move within 3 minutes

[May 6, 2012 8:10:40 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive vsc385 – yes the first time starter size – wider stop and we got an immediate drop and suggested many times to cover into any flush

[May 6, 2012 8:10:56 PM EDT]     vsc385   got it

[May 6, 2012 8:11:04 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: Can you go over the PLX short trade you took on Wednesday? Company received FDA approval and stock gapped up maybe 20-30%. You shorted it right outta the open. Can you explain why you were short biased (do you consider every FDA approval play a short, or was there something about the way it was trading after hours/pre market that made you short biased) and why you took the short right out of the open?

[May 6, 2012 8:11:28 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: It was based on the action pre market, it was trending … unable to hold higher highs and had trouble with the .50 mark – started in basing risk off 7.50s had it broke back over 7.50s and consolidated slow gear I would have stopped out, key was 7.50s area and a fade off it … add if more fades. It was under the downtick rule due to the prior day losing quite a bit of ground – so I had suggested not to chase down and only short into pops. Many times you’ll see the offers stack up and the bid may be holding extremely well (say the $7 test for example) might be 100 shares on bid 7.01 and 25k+ on the offer this is all shorters because the fact is if they were sellers they’d just hit the bid and not stack up on the offer with fear of $7 break. Sometimes when they stack up and the bid is eating, they’ll rip it on the shorts since they know exactly how many shorts just got filled.

[May 6, 2012 8:12:01 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive whenever I take a short right out of the gate its based on the pre market action – if I am there watchin it and focused I’m more confident in the move and can judge based on the trend it had pre market … and size in accordingly

[May 6, 2012 8:13:18 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive no FDAs are never longs they are never shorts

[May 6, 2012 8:13:30 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive they are based on price action – but if they aren’t going up and put in a pretty good ceiling pre market

[May 6, 2012 8:13:40 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive you can take a stab at it with an educated risk

[May 6, 2012 8:14:22 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive any questions related to PLX

[May 6, 2012 8:14:29 PM EDT]     basher  yes

[May 6, 2012 8:14:55 PM EDT]     basher  nice so what sort of price action on L2 did you see to keep you confident in the short?

[May 6, 2012 8:15:08 PM EDT]     basher  if you saw 1×250 would you have taken it off?

[May 6, 2012 8:15:09 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive had nothing to do with L2

[May 6, 2012 8:15:15 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive had to do with what I said above

[May 6, 2012 8:15:23 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive price action pre market, had a ceiling put in … .50s as a guide

[May 6, 2012 8:15:52 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive the comment regarding shorts and the downtick rule above was just a side note

[May 6, 2012 8:16:07 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive because I had mentioned it in chat, and happens many times .. like on OPHC

[May 6, 2012 8:16:20 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive when I said hey guys … careful at 1.80 shorts even tho its over extended on the rebound

[May 6, 2012 8:16:28 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive 1.80 is soaking and 1.81 had size taken …

[May 6, 2012 8:16:33 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive then you guys saw it rip over $2

[May 6, 2012 8:16:35 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive before fading off

[May 6, 2012 8:16:52 PM EDT]     basher  okay gotcha

[May 6, 2012 8:16:53 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive just one of those things we see, I mention in chat …

[May 6, 2012 8:17:11 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive usually when everyone stacks offers it’s all shorts otherwise if you’re a seller

[May 6, 2012 8:17:13 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive you’d just hit the bid

[May 6, 2012 8:17:19 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive so the only way you fill as a short is when they come into the offer

[May 6, 2012 8:17:36 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive so if they take the whole offer … good chance could pop some and screw all teh new shorties

[May 6, 2012 8:17:43 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: If the stock has formed a down trend is it smart to even play the small pops that it gives on the way down? or is it just best to stay away from those? Meaning the little up hills it creates on the way down.

[May 6, 2012 8:17:43 PM EDT]     basher  haha yep

[May 6, 2012 8:17:50 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: Usually with a downtrend take GMCR for example I let it reverse off lows, once it reverses off lows and consolidates let it set up … if it flat lines (consolidates) and perks off lows now you have a stop in mind – you can stop near or at lows and judge your risk accordingly. The biggest problem with buying a slow fader all day stuck in a downtrend is a) you have no idea where bottom is, b) it may look to reverse 10 times causing you to add in over and over again and trade a size much larger than you wanted and c) typically they flush out before they finally reverse // sometimes its best to miss the bottom

[May 6, 2012 8:19:07 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive same thing on the short side…

[May 6, 2012 8:19:13 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive I get PMs saying ‘hey you think this is a short?’

[May 6, 2012 8:19:23 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive but all its doing is slowly grinding higher on HODs

[May 6, 2012 8:19:38 PM EDT]     Laura don’t short hods on those

[May 6, 2012 8:19:45 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive the only way I short is speed ups the trend so you have a guide

[May 6, 2012 8:19:49 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive if you flip that …

[May 6, 2012 8:19:53 PM EDT]     Laura can go farther than you know

[May 6, 2012 8:19:57 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive only way you should ‘long’

[May 6, 2012 8:20:01 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive is if you’re playing a washout

[May 6, 2012 8:20:09 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive (if familiar with washouts)

[May 6, 2012 8:20:25 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive same concept on long and shorts

[May 6, 2012 8:20:30 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive if slow grind down, slow grind up .. ignore

[May 6, 2012 8:20:32 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive unless w/ the trend

[May 6, 2012 8:21:29 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive any questions related?

[May 6, 2012 8:22:20 PM EDT]     publicst                i know you dont really long slow grind higher any reason you would not chase those trending ones?

[May 6, 2012 8:22:21 PM EDT]     Brett      yes

[May 6, 2012 8:22:39 PM EDT]     publicst                gearing perking yes

[May 6, 2012 8:22:51 PM EDT]     Brett      If your adding size or averaging do u do it in equal parts or greater parts as you continue to add in?

[May 6, 2012 8:23:04 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive I have more recently, since not as many sweet set ups … but given that I’m usually a momentum trader and don’t have much patience I usually ignore the slow grinders until I see them speed up

[May 6, 2012 8:23:38 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive Brett – I just have a full size in mind, all relative to what happens

[May 6, 2012 8:23:48 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive if I am in 1/4 and the stuff parabolics $1.50 on air

[May 6, 2012 8:23:54 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive I’m just just going to add 1/4 more

[May 6, 2012 8:24:05 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive I’d go full size into a crazy squeeze probably

[May 6, 2012 8:24:14 PM EDT]     sotorious             on the gearing perking you would have to size in farily large to see a decent profit right?

[May 6, 2012 8:24:19 PM EDT]     sotorious             unless it keeps going

[May 6, 2012 8:24:26 PM EDT]     Brett      do u ever go full size off the bat?

[May 6, 2012 8:24:34 PM EDT]     Brett      or when would you

[May 6, 2012 8:25:06 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive sotorious – as long as you have a plan and stick to it you can go full size every time…. I just like to use houses money and get on hte right side of the trade before I add in

[May 6, 2012 8:25:09 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive that’s all

[May 6, 2012 8:25:19 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive you can go 1/2 for full size every time just stick to a plan

[May 6, 2012 8:25:44 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive we’re just in a market where heck.. i may be right and it’s going to tank $.50 cents but not on my block

[May 6, 2012 8:25:51 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive FONR ADY etc .. for example .. or SGOC

[May 6, 2012 8:26:26 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: Nate, can you explain your thought process on your short trades that are “tweeners”? when the stock is not quite parabolic and it hasn’t really shown sideways price failure yet. VHC on thursday at 29.30 is a good example of this i think, unless you saw something else i didnt. it kind of a made marginal new high. how do you manage your risk on these?

[May 6, 2012 8:26:33 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: Usually if it’s something like VHC on Thursday it has already put in a top and starts to look top heavy – so my stop becomes either the HOD or next whole number or ½ dollar mark. However something like that I’d be in small size and add in once right, so adding isn’t really an issue – just taking a chance with the price action. I will only do it when I’m actually watching the stock and seeing how aggressive sellers get each time it pops back up to re-test vs. how aggressive bidders are. The main thing I like to trade on stocks with big ranges like this are a slow and steady gear .. Starts to speed up breaks HODs usually low XX.30-XX.50 range and retest whatever whole dollar market it just crossed.

[May 6, 2012 8:28:16 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: i know you like to start in and add on the parabolic but what if it just keeps grinding higher, how do you plan to take it off for a loss??

[May 6, 2012 8:28:18 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: Stick to what you typically use … if you’re in a partial size and you think risk is .20-.30 against you .. and you’re in a third half size than you’re probably willing to risk at least .50-1.00 on the starter batch before it has any impact on you …. BUT if you’re in partial at least for me I’m assuming it may speed up and parabolic then I short more – HOWEVER if you’re in small size and it keeps slowly inching along w/ no speed up .. many times I’ll just take it off.

[May 6, 2012 8:30:19 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive this isn’t really a parabolic but

[May 6, 2012 8:30:20 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive http://www.investorsunderground.com/img/CVFMURPJSF.png

[May 6, 2012 8:30:21 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive for example

[May 6, 2012 8:30:31 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive if you shorted the move at 11am

[May 6, 2012 8:30:53 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive lets just say hypothetically it was $4 to 5.50 move .. then this was the following day

[May 6, 2012 8:31:05 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive and you decided to short into the $6 move

[May 6, 2012 8:31:11 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive once it broke

[May 6, 2012 8:31:16 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive then pulls back .. but never really gives it up…

[May 6, 2012 8:31:20 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive slowly keeping a higher low

[May 6, 2012 8:31:43 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive need to use that HOD

[May 6, 2012 8:31:47 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive as a guide to stop

[May 6, 2012 8:32:27 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive when trend is choppy I’ll stay in partial size but if it’s just slow and gearing inch by inch sometimes just best to get out and move on

[May 6, 2012 8:32:44 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: How Best to apply strategies to an account that can only buy stocks that are bullish? i have a cash account no margin hence if the price doesnt go up then i crash , if i put stop loss in i suffer then i am left with a ton od dead money for 4 days until its cleared what so you suggest? My broker-TradeKing only offer margin if you are working and currently i dont want to be working for anyone to get a margin account

[May 6, 2012 8:32:45 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: You could always use a prop firm like Broad Street or SureTrader…. Or you could get a different broker to use margin not necessarily for the ability to use 4:1 type margin but rather so your positions clear without having to wait 4 days.

[May 6, 2012 8:33:48 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: Risk/Reward – how you determine on any given play. Seems I would like at least a 3:1 on reward to Risk. Meaning if I am risking 10 cents I’d like a 30 cent upside. That has been my goal, but I am taking profits too soon on most trades and losses too late. Giving me basically scratch in the end.

[May 6, 2012 8:34:19 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: That’s usually what I look for … risk of .20 cents for a .50-1.00 type move, risking .10 for .30 type move … and then size in accordingly as well. Something that may be .30 cents I’d probably go 3k shares so my risk is $300 reward is $900-1k

[May 6, 2012 8:35:42 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: Re: SEFE, SNPK and other similar pumps. I think you said some time before that promoter has a total control over the stock price. Could you clarify why for example the morning panic is pulling the price down then? Is it because that is what the promoter wants or because it is too much selling pressure which he can’t withstand which would mean that he doesn’t have total control over the stock? Thanks.

[May 6, 2012 8:35:45 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: SNPK and SEFE are done, you’re thinking about now – but if you go back a month or so while the program is going and the mailers hitting, emails hitting they have to create and give the confidence for traders to trade and investors to buy while it’s heading up before the masses hit it … once that’s done and the mail slows etc it’s just the back side of the pump – once the shares go from only a small number of shareholders to many they’ll be less and less control – usually there will be one good first bounce to keep traders interested like SEFE for example consolidated sub 1.50 for 2 days while a good portion of the float was bought back and pushed back up.

[May 6, 2012 8:38:05 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive any questions so far on these

[May 6, 2012 8:38:34 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: Some tips on reading L2…specifically, shorts? Tips on reading L2 and tape for shorting going on

[May 6, 2012 8:38:36 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: I would not suggest using Level 2 to try to ‘locate’ shorts it’s not going to help you. Sure, OTCs … MMs like BKRT BMIC WDCO AYME that may hit a big promo stock all at the same time may make it pretty obvious but as far as Nasdaq a short is a sell, a sell is a sell, what’s the difference? Just trade the trend don’t worry about trying to understand it, it’s not going to help you.

[May 6, 2012 8:40:05 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: re: GWBU. I put in an order at ask price when alerted in chat. I got a bad partial fill of 200 @ .43–I stuck with my rules and did not chase. As it turns out, it would have been a good one to chase but… stuck to rules-wait for next one. Was there anything you saw when this was alerted that would have made you chase for a cent or two? Thanks.

[May 6, 2012 8:41:07 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: no nothing would have cause me to chase not chase, that’s hindsight .. you can always put the limit a bit higher if it’s a chase and only 1 offer so it doesn’t happen .. .005 higher than the offer

[May 6, 2012 8:43:00 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: Can you go over ABCD pattern in detail? With all the possible ways to play it(buy the breakout, ss the eod fade) and with recent up to date examples like SHLD and others that occurred this week.

[May 6, 2012 8:43:14 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive was there any specifics on this from who asked?

[May 6, 2012 8:43:29 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive I usually try to slim it down with the example I show without a stock

[May 6, 2012 8:43:37 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive and just the paint shop view on the power point

[May 6, 2012 8:43:43 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive takes the noise out for many

[May 6, 2012 8:43:56 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive http://www.investorsunderground.com/img/JXGNQWVHKF.png

[May 6, 2012 8:44:17 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive that’s on the first power point suggested but

[May 6, 2012 8:44:23 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive D you don’t know until it’s bottomed out

[May 6, 2012 8:44:29 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive slow gear off D

[May 6, 2012 8:44:45 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive goes up .. pulls and holds a higher low

[May 6, 2012 8:45:08 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive then when it perks off a higher low .. that’s where I am interested in anticipating w/ risk at D

[May 6, 2012 8:45:31 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive http://www.investorsunderground.com/img/BICGTVKMTF.png

[May 6, 2012 8:45:32 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive OCZ

[May 6, 2012 8:45:41 PM EDT]     InvestorsLive couple text book moves here but
