[Sep 6, 2010 8:01:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive What’s up all!

[Sep 6, 2010 8:01:37 PM EDT] InvestorsLive everyone have a good long weekend>?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:01:51 PM EDT] Relaax Fantastic!

[Sep 6, 2010 8:01:51 PM EDT] TMcNasty <— at work. 😉

[Sep 6, 2010 8:02:18 PM EDT] 8 Georgia won so yes.. how about you il

[Sep 6, 2010 8:02:27 PM EDT] InvestorsLive excellent

[Sep 6, 2010 8:02:39 PM EDT] InvestorsLive alright – so got a bunch of questions I’ll go thru them each

[Sep 6, 2010 8:02:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ask for questions if you don’t understand speak up

[Sep 6, 2010 8:02:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive then go to the next

[Sep 6, 2010 8:03:16 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Another warning first tho re: sub pennys

[Sep 6, 2010 8:03:31 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QOIL will obviously be hot tomorrow – anyone who takes my advice on how to subscribe to these things

[Sep 6, 2010 8:03:38 PM EDT] InvestorsLive know that it is a super pumper over night

[Sep 6, 2010 8:03:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so a warning to be careful

[Sep 6, 2010 8:03:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Another reminder as I warned the sub penny chat all week.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:03:58 PM EDT] InvestorsLive We had a huge huge huge run in sub penny land this past week. There was 4 5000-10,000% runners. This is not normal…. happens once a year yes never this much but .. it does happen. Then everyone thinks they will get in on the next one .. and hold hold hold… add add add. Don’t do this. If one catches your eye MAKE SURE IT HAS A SECOND LEG.. otherwise pass up on it.. if it doesn’t hold its gains and re-attempt HODs – you shouldn’t be in.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:04:05 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Wait for it to prove that it is taking on more gains. Don’t believe me? Look at SSPT and SREH and the billion times I warned people not to average down – but their unwillingness to listen led to losses .. now they are at .0001.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:04:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I prepared a lot of the questions so let me know if I go to fast on them

[Sep 6, 2010 8:04:57 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Trade these things guys – make sure that you don’t marry them

[Sep 6, 2010 8:05:10 PM EDT] InvestorsLive If you can’t do that – don’t trade them – save your money

[Sep 6, 2010 8:05:26 PM EDT] InvestorsLive in the end – our niche trading we always chat about is what sticks around every day

[Sep 6, 2010 8:05:31 PM EDT] InvestorsLive subbers and OTC market come and go

[Sep 6, 2010 8:05:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Any questions so far ? if not I’ll go to next

[Sep 6, 2010 8:06:34 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: I noticed a few times you’ve posted screenshots …. I was wondering if you could show me a few screenshots of how your screens/trading tools are layed out ( L2 windows, charts, etc..the things you watch) I just want to try and use my screens space most efficiently with the right tools/windows up

[Sep 6, 2010 8:07:00 PM EDT] InvestorsLive pic I had before – didn’t have my trading system up today so didn’t take one but: http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/9949/monitorsu.png

[Sep 6, 2010 8:07:01 PM EDT] TMcNasty good ques.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:07:09 PM EDT] InvestorsLive It’s totally up to you what you feel comfortable watching – some like to see the daily chart next to the 1min or 5 min chart. Some don’t look at charts at all… others don’t look at level 2 or time and sales.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:07:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Personally for each chart I have DAS Level2 Montage, time and sales and then the chart. I have the HOD/LOD list front and center alongside the chat room. I use 6 charts and watch 4 others with just Level 2 boxes on the left monitor.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:07:33 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Stock screens are on the right most monitor. Left monitor I use for everything else (other brokerages web based, surfing, email etc)

[Sep 6, 2010 8:08:01 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any questions?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:08:12 PM EDT] TMcNasty 4 monitors total?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:08:29 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Yes for me.. once I move I think I may do more but yes

[Sep 6, 2010 8:08:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive 3 24″s and a 20

[Sep 6, 2010 8:08:44 PM EDT] TMcNasty me too…just added the 2nd 2.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:08:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive it’s what you’re used to … it’s what you view and can make the trade off

[Sep 6, 2010 8:08:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Once you go up.. you can’t go back down

[Sep 6, 2010 8:08:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive keep that in mind

[Sep 6, 2010 8:09:04 PM EDT] TMcNasty agreed

[Sep 6, 2010 8:09:11 PM EDT] InvestorsLive every monitor it gets harder and harder to trade off a laptop

[Sep 6, 2010 8:09:38 PM EDT] 8 Do you use equity feed or the brokerage charts?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:09:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive DAS Trader

[Sep 6, 2010 8:09:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive for charts

[Sep 6, 2010 8:09:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive EquityFeed for the Scans

[Sep 6, 2010 8:10:39 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any further questions re: my set up?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:10:50 PM EDT] liquid thanks IL

[Sep 6, 2010 8:11:13 PM EDT] shumail are you using hotkeys or mostly point&click?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:11:15 PM EDT] TMcNasty I’d like to know more about yer pre-market scanning if not already covered.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:11:20 PM EDT] Relaax 1 pc to run it all?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:11:22 PM EDT] InvestorsLive no hot keys

[Sep 6, 2010 8:11:36 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Ctrl + C Ctrl + V

[Sep 6, 2010 8:11:39 PM EDT] InvestorsLive for a lot

[Sep 6, 2010 8:11:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive point and click on DAS for the rest

[Sep 6, 2010 8:12:07 PM EDT] InvestorsLive pre market screening covered in Muddys stuff on the seminar page – just sticking within set up questions vs. how to questions

[Sep 6, 2010 8:12:10 PM EDT] InvestorsLive yes 1 PC

[Sep 6, 2010 8:12:12 PM EDT] InvestorsLive alienware

[Sep 6, 2010 8:12:20 PM EDT] TMcNasty ok cool

[Sep 6, 2010 8:12:22 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any further questions re: my set up?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:13:16 PM EDT] InvestorsLive alright

[Sep 6, 2010 8:13:19 PM EDT] shumail this is probably a DAS specific question but it is not possible to replace the price on a partially filled order like on IB, right?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:13:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive no

[Sep 6, 2010 8:13:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: You were almost solely playing these “ultra”pennys / sub pennys which gain 3000% on a day. Is there nothing else good in play right now (stock between 1 $ – 10 $) or is something wrong with me? I can’t handle these pennys, they give me headache. Tried to short CMGR the other day, but I just couldn’t hit the order. Should I just get used to these penny games?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:14:12 PM EDT] InvestorsLive If you don’t feel comfortable with pennys just forget it. They will come in go. In the end … it’s understanding dayrangers, former runners and the niche between $1 and $10 that matters. If the OTC market slows and you’re stuck in 10 sub penny stocks… what good does that do?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:14:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive The past week OTC land was super hot YES… but it’ll gravitate back to the niche stocks in a short while. It’s not all about the subbers though… look at LBSR RMCP IMGG etc. These were all perfectly executed and called in the chat room and I would add these momentum plays to the “niche”. Subbers though – can be your best friend or worst enemy – sometimes best to steer away.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:14:52 PM EDT] liquid or play small….

[Sep 6, 2010 8:15:08 PM EDT] InvestorsLive There was plenty of slower mover trades and plenty of alerts from bmon/Muddy etc on the normal niche trades

[Sep 6, 2010 8:15:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive One thing is … it’s hard to trade OTCs and Nasdaq if one is moving crazy fast like these XXXX%’ers

[Sep 6, 2010 8:15:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so sometimes attention gets focused on those

[Sep 6, 2010 8:16:15 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Take Matthias for example – once these pumpers are trading like Nasdaq

[Sep 6, 2010 8:16:23 PM EDT] InvestorsLive he just buys dips and sells strength

[Sep 6, 2010 8:16:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive many many times

[Sep 6, 2010 8:16:37 PM EDT] InvestorsLive such small risk on these … because you don’t need $$$ value at risk

[Sep 6, 2010 8:16:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Another reminder tho guys

[Sep 6, 2010 8:17:02 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QOIL I’m sure will be hot

[Sep 6, 2010 8:17:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and others this week

[Sep 6, 2010 8:17:10 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but again just be careful

[Sep 6, 2010 8:17:19 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I see many people lock their $$ up in these things

[Sep 6, 2010 8:17:28 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and then add add add and knock their accts down

[Sep 6, 2010 8:17:31 PM EDT] InvestorsLive in a day

[Sep 6, 2010 8:17:34 PM EDT] 8 Is there a pecific way you are looking to play Qoil… i.e. right out the gate.. dip

[Sep 6, 2010 8:17:39 PM EDT] InvestorsLive no idea

[Sep 6, 2010 8:17:41 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we’ll see in AM

[Sep 6, 2010 8:17:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I usually play them outta the gate

[Sep 6, 2010 8:17:57 PM EDT] BearNine so for subbers watch dips and volume basically the strategy? can never bring myself to buy these

[Sep 6, 2010 8:18:26 PM EDT] InvestorsLive yes just pull up those charts – and pull up history – Matthias was solely trading those last week

[Sep 6, 2010 8:18:34 PM EDT] InvestorsLive look at the dip entry exits etc

[Sep 6, 2010 8:18:36 PM EDT] InvestorsLive on the 1 min chart

[Sep 6, 2010 8:18:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive he’s a great OTC trader when they have a trend – he’s patient and does really well doing that

[Sep 6, 2010 8:19:00 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any further questions?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:19:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive related to this one

[Sep 6, 2010 8:19:11 PM EDT] Relaax Buy ask right out the gate? I’ve seen you say many times you ok with 100% risk correct?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:19:36 PM EDT] InvestorsLive well it’s the only pumper I trust outta the gate Relaax

[Sep 6, 2010 8:19:40 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I don’t recco that on anything

[Sep 6, 2010 8:19:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and I’m not recco that

[Sep 6, 2010 8:19:57 PM EDT] InvestorsLive these guys and pennypic only ones I look at and “trust” with $$ outta the gate

[Sep 6, 2010 8:20:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but again.. depends what it looks like tomorrow

[Sep 6, 2010 8:20:28 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that’s why I tell you guys to subscribe to all the ones who advertise at top of google so u can review/note/see who is good / not good and where to trust ur cash

[Sep 6, 2010 8:20:38 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any further questions related?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:21:36 PM EDT] shumail do you have a list of all the pumpers you are subscribing to?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:21:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive no – u guys can do that on google

[Sep 6, 2010 8:21:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I subscribe to all

[Sep 6, 2010 8:21:59 PM EDT] shumail ok

[Sep 6, 2010 8:22:13 PM EDT] TMcNasty search term? stock promoters?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:22:20 PM EDT] InvestorsLive hot stocks

[Sep 6, 2010 8:22:22 PM EDT] InvestorsLive penny stocks

[Sep 6, 2010 8:22:22 PM EDT] InvestorsLive etc

[Sep 6, 2010 8:22:29 PM EDT] TMcNasty giggidy

[Sep 6, 2010 8:22:38 PM EDT] 8 I actually studied them for a while and like IL said these guys penny pic titan and bestd are the only ones that brought in bog volume consistently

[Sep 6, 2010 8:22:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive think about it.. if u were a pumper what term would u want people to hit ur site by?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:22:47 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and type those in

[Sep 6, 2010 8:23:22 PM EDT] InvestorsLive right – its up to u guys to do that – otherwise you miss out – because I focus on it… you’ve seen me probably make at least 5k minimum off each crazypenny and pennypic play

[Sep 6, 2010 8:23:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and they come once a month

[Sep 6, 2010 8:23:31 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I don’t use that much risk… I really don’t

[Sep 6, 2010 8:23:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and that’s $120k a year for taking a few minutes to study who is hot who isn’t and realizing it over the course of a few months

[Sep 6, 2010 8:24:19 PM EDT] InvestorsLive its up to u guys doing homework and how bad u want it… if u lazy .. u wont get it

[Sep 6, 2010 8:24:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but cuz the risk in 1/10th

[Sep 6, 2010 8:24:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive still 12k a year for following and finding out whose good/hot/has a following/brings flow…. who sucks – whose a good short etc

[Sep 6, 2010 8:24:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive anyway – any further questions on that topic

[Sep 6, 2010 8:25:10 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ——————–

[Sep 6, 2010 8:25:11 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: On Tuesday, you bought GLDD at 4.97, in anticipation of the 5 break. Why? There were so many factors against that long: choppy / downtrending 6 Month chart, it was 11:30 AM, no real big vol spike. I went long 2 cents above you, but got scared out when it went under 5$. What made you confident to hold?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:25:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/5958/gldd.png it caught my attention on the HOD list volume was higher than the prior day already at 11:30AM and it was nearing the $5 test.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:25:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Many times I’ll play near that as they act as a magnet… if it breaks and pops you make money.. if it doesn’t you sell even or lose a few pennies. I like the risk vs. reward. If you got scared out when it dipped .02 cents you’re playing way too big… it even lost trend. It was also green and strong relative to the market that day – had the market ripped back it may have had a better reversal in it given the relative strength.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:26:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that’s a really crappy chart – not a picture perfect one but just to show u idea…

[Sep 6, 2010 8:26:36 PM EDT] InvestorsLive it was heading sideways… was a beat chart but hitting HODs and near $5 break

[Sep 6, 2010 8:27:02 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I look for a candle/reversal/higher low and re-break of that prior high

[Sep 6, 2010 8:27:14 PM EDT] InvestorsLive once it busted which was near $5 + near $5 anticipation

[Sep 6, 2010 8:27:24 PM EDT] 8 what type of position do you play in these (5k, 10k etc).. Im having trouble deciding how much i too much in these sort of plays

[Sep 6, 2010 8:27:26 PM EDT] InvestorsLive worked out well – not a huge mover just a high probability low risk trade

[Sep 6, 2010 8:27:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive it depends on what you feel is high risk .. ur risk is probably .10 cents against u

[Sep 6, 2010 8:28:00 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so whatever .10 x ur size is…

[Sep 6, 2010 8:28:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive make sure ur ok with that for a loss

[Sep 6, 2010 8:28:30 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any questions on tat

[Sep 6, 2010 8:28:31 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that

[Sep 6, 2010 8:28:38 PM EDT] 8 as simple as that might be it helped.. thanks

[Sep 6, 2010 8:28:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive That’s why sometimes I go in 1/2 size depending on chart

[Sep 6, 2010 8:29:09 PM EDT] InvestorsLive means I’m not sure 100% here but general idea is I want to be long or short

[Sep 6, 2010 8:29:13 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but may be a lil early

[Sep 6, 2010 8:29:17 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so want double the range as a stop

[Sep 6, 2010 8:29:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive meaning instead of maybe .10 .. now it’s .20

[Sep 6, 2010 8:29:30 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but its all relative to how its trading

[Sep 6, 2010 8:29:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but that’s what I mean when I go in 1/2 size

[Sep 6, 2010 8:29:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ——————

[Sep 6, 2010 8:29:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: Regarding to breakouts / breakdowns off resistance/support: what’s the safest way to get in on these? I found that waiting for the crack kinda sucks, because it often moves to fast to get in at a good price or the price you got in, turned out to be the top. Waiting for a test of the HOD / resistance to the upside, is also tricky, since it’s never a bounce of the exact # and I often don’t know if it is still a re-test or a fail / fakeout. Shall I just buy / short way before that point, in anticipation of the break?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:30:12 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Many times I anticipate the break and look for ‘gearing’ inching up slowly but surely then a perk (candle in the right direction more so than it slowly inching) and volume – we went over many examples here: http://www.investorsunderground.com/2010/06/21/gearing-perking-chat-visuals-building-a-watchlist/

[Sep 6, 2010 8:30:15 PM EDT] InvestorsLive http://www.investorsunderground.com/2010/06/06/back-to-basics-662010/

[Sep 6, 2010 8:30:20 PM EDT] InvestorsLive http://www.investorsunderground.com/2010/01/19/dashboard-use-textbook-breakouts-gearing/ start here: [Jan 18, 2010 5:54:40 PM PST]

[Sep 6, 2010 8:30:33 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we spent a lot of time with this – it’s all about combinations

[Sep 6, 2010 8:30:36 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that you can put together

[Sep 6, 2010 8:30:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive it’s gotta be a stock in play… volume

[Sep 6, 2010 8:30:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we talk red to green a lot

[Sep 6, 2010 8:30:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that doesn’t mean .. just because XYZ goes green its a buy

[Sep 6, 2010 8:31:11 PM EDT] InvestorsLive combined with … gearing/perking… 52s…

[Sep 6, 2010 8:31:13 PM EDT] InvestorsLive whole # etc

[Sep 6, 2010 8:31:19 PM EDT] InvestorsLive which we discussed in all those

[Sep 6, 2010 8:32:19 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ——————–

[Sep 6, 2010 8:32:22 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: Could you go a little bit over bounce plays or oversold charts? I had always understood that you bought (and sold) fast moves but lately I’ve seen some of plays where you will buy the fading moves too – DGIT, NACF, few others. Do you have any advice for a slower trader to play these, one that doesn’t (or can’t) scalp in and out frequently?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:32:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive DGIT and CHBT are good examples – go back to ONP when we played this the day it crashed – we play a stock when it’s IN PLAY. Slow gradual fading is fine… can be profitable BUT around a big crash in a stock there is volume which will lead to taking advantage of the move at hand.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:32:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Review the chart you’re going into – if there was already a big sell off (DGIT) coming into the move – chances are could be an overreaction. These are great for the slower trader as they are more about positioning into a trade and taking advantage of an over extension one way or the other .. and you don’t need to be right on the first entry.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:33:09 PM EDT] InvestorsLive You always can do a first but if you want to be net long – then average into your long. DGIT was nice and slow over night grabbed some into the EOD sell off… NACF as well into each big drop and sell some into morning strength. Both of which were slow rolling plays. If that’s too frequent I would stay away from OTCs.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:33:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive DGIT I warned the chat room like 20 x before it happened on the gap down bad earnings play to be extremely careful on this because the refresh sellers

[Sep 6, 2010 8:34:12 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and although we want to buy dips cuz it looks good – let it put in a reversal first

[Sep 6, 2010 8:34:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if you do trade it.. make sure to take gains into the reversal because if a refresh seller comes in… and you don’t take them while you have them – onto more LODs

[Sep 6, 2010 8:34:50 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any questions on bounces?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:34:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive IMGG was a different sort of bounce – wasn’t a tanker

[Sep 6, 2010 8:35:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but another one we nailed PERFECTLY

[Sep 6, 2010 8:35:20 PM EDT] InvestorsLive stocks don’t go straight up – natural stocks that is

[Sep 6, 2010 8:35:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive manip’d mailer stocks sure

[Sep 6, 2010 8:35:39 PM EDT] pkto can you clarify “you can always do a first”

[Sep 6, 2010 8:35:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive First entry

[Sep 6, 2010 8:35:51 PM EDT] InvestorsLive 1/2 size

[Sep 6, 2010 8:36:40 PM EDT] InvestorsLive unless it’s a huge washout panic slel off like WAMUQ or SPNG or BEHL and all those that we’ve nailed in past

[Sep 6, 2010 8:36:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive or NXTH tank

[Sep 6, 2010 8:36:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I never go in full size

[Sep 6, 2010 8:37:22 PM EDT] InvestorsLive stuff like NACF and what not – I go in starter just in case it’s not bottom in this case NACF wanted to come down bit more – then once it faded more quickly I averaged in – took it off – and now trying it again

[Sep 6, 2010 8:37:29 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any questions guys on this question or good for next?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:37:58 PM EDT] pkto on a DGIT, if there’s a couple green candles and then it ends

[Sep 6, 2010 8:38:06 PM EDT] pkto we have to consider that a potential reversal that didnt materialize?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:38:21 PM EDT] InvestorsLive on daily or intraday?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:38:24 PM EDT] pkto intraday

[Sep 6, 2010 8:38:40 PM EDT] InvestorsLive well yea like we saw with DGIT each time it reversed.. I nailed bottom but

[Sep 6, 2010 8:38:47 PM EDT] InvestorsLive then we ran into a refresh seller

[Sep 6, 2010 8:38:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and warned each time I saw… cuz that’s basically a none upticking order

[Sep 6, 2010 8:39:00 PM EDT] InvestorsLive some1 was selling out huge that day

[Sep 6, 2010 8:39:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so you need to take gains or just sell at ur entry

[Sep 6, 2010 8:39:21 PM EDT] InvestorsLive cuz it’ll kill ya

[Sep 6, 2010 8:39:29 PM EDT] InvestorsLive averaging down all day

[Sep 6, 2010 8:39:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any further questions on that topic?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:40:14 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ———————

[Sep 6, 2010 8:40:15 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: What are the typical signs you look for to align before shorting a stock?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:40:22 PM EDT] InvestorsLive This is something we cover quite often in seminars because that’s what I mainly do .. short… I’m a bear at heart. I look for a few things:

[Sep 6, 2010 8:40:36 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Stocks history (do we know if it is a former runner and crapper?)

[Sep 6, 2010 8:40:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Has it been on a run for a few days? (over extended – reasoning?)

[Sep 6, 2010 8:40:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Earnings/FDA/Analyst bash/Citron – back shorting into pops? Few days after?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:40:57 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Know your plan going in.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:41:05 PM EDT] InvestorsLive What category does it fit? When you are going into the trade – what is it that you are looking for? Just because the stock is up DOES NOT MEAN IT IS A SHORT.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:41:13 PM EDT] InvestorsLive So many times I get PMs saying … when will XYZ be a short – when it’s slowly churning higher all day and on a breakout.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:41:14 PM EDT] 8 This might sound silly but what is Citron?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:41:22 PM EDT] InvestorsLive CHBT – Citronresearch

[Sep 6, 2010 8:41:28 PM EDT] InvestorsLive they did a bash against htem

[Sep 6, 2010 8:41:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so many times guys you PM me and say

[Sep 6, 2010 8:41:47 PM EDT] InvestorsLive XYZ is up… a short now?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:41:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive JUST BECAUSE A STOCK IS UP DOES NOT MAKE IT A SHORT

[Sep 6, 2010 8:42:02 PM EDT] InvestorsLive stocks DO GO UP

[Sep 6, 2010 8:42:15 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we’re looking for over extensions

[Sep 6, 2010 8:42:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Let the stock tell you. Let the stock fade off HODs and give yourself an area to stop if you are wrong. Once it starts fading (Muddy like’s to watch it fade X % off HOD before shorting) this gives you the ability to take a loss and know where to do it. If you just short randomly at highs… where do you stop? Next whole dollar? Where is resistance? Let the stock tell you!

[Sep 6, 2010 8:42:30 PM EDT] investormind why was IMGG different sort of bounce?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:42:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive investor – we’re onto new topic I’ll go back after – lets stay on topic please for sake of logs

[Sep 6, 2010 8:42:54 PM EDT] pkto do you have any rule of thumb when a stock “grinds too far” that you gotta get in? EEE i know you took a starter on the 2.00 x

[Sep 6, 2010 8:43:15 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Well EEE was post reverse split and a double off lows

[Sep 6, 2010 8:43:23 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so i started into the short but was boxed

[Sep 6, 2010 8:43:29 PM EDT] InvestorsLive to protect since it could have squeezed

[Sep 6, 2010 8:44:07 PM EDT] InvestorsLive EEE was a ‘risky’ entry I would have ideally entered on a parabolic – that’s why I protected myself on the trade

[Sep 6, 2010 8:44:19 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Stocks History:

[Sep 6, 2010 8:44:20 PM EDT] InvestorsLive SPDE / ABIO / MTXX / IFLG – These stocks all have history and we know… they like to run up (lower volume) and eventually crash… crash hard and right back to where they come from. The difference is – where do they top?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:44:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Usually they have a super strong first day – fake people out 2 or 3 times and end up closing extremely strong. These are stocks I only short into parabolic moves, gap up and runs (morning strength) or green to red. This is a category – lower float 1 day poppers next day crappers.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:44:46 PM EDT] Relaax you wait for a red day then fading volume intraday for example?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:45:11 PM EDT] InvestorsLive DT back in June the stock had gone up up up every day – same thing in July when it topped out at $19.70. I take the risk vs. reward of the short and that’s my decision. I know that if the stock usually grinds up .05 at a time I have to wait for it parabolic (ie: spike .50-.75 cents) for risk vs. reward to be on my side.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:45:13 PM EDT] InvestorsLive IDT*

[Sep 6, 2010 8:45:19 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Both times – the last day of June and the day it hit 52 week highs in July – it gapped up huge and had morning strength running .50-1.00 on LOW volume. I short this parabolic move.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:45:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Look for a purpose to short – parabolic like I went over many times in last seminar

[Sep 6, 2010 8:45:52 PM EDT] InvestorsLive or yes mid day fade action on a hot stock the prior day or 2

[Sep 6, 2010 8:45:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that lost its momentum

[Sep 6, 2010 8:46:06 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Last is earnings – I usually don’t short into gap downs (earnings or FDA events) – I did on JAZZ and lost because of it .. it was a stubborn trade where I was up 3 times or more and never took the gains – then ended up losing with a gap up and a run.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:46:17 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Earning droppers tend to all act the same – they make great bounces as you saw with DGIT and CHBT where we nailed the long buying off the over extension (ie: opposite of shorting into a parabolic) – We’ve also seen this on ONP – “analyst” bash … tanks settles – rebounds. This is one of my favorite set ups. Play the bounce .. sell into strength – let it trade out and then short it again.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:46:50 PM EDT] InvestorsLive CHBT wasn’t earnings – and JAZZ was FDA … DGIT was earnings..

[Sep 6, 2010 8:46:57 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but they all sorta have the same patterns

[Sep 6, 2010 8:47:05 PM EDT] InvestorsLive you can look back at them all .. VVUS .. ITMN

[Sep 6, 2010 8:47:05 PM EDT] InvestorsLive etc

[Sep 6, 2010 8:47:08 PM EDT] BearNine DGIT setting up for a retank right now

[Sep 6, 2010 8:47:27 PM EDT] InvestorsLive correct but consider where it has come from

[Sep 6, 2010 8:47:47 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any questions on this topic?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:48:19 PM EDT] Relaax you say no shorting into gap downs, but it seems most of them tend to keep tanking hard right out the gate

[Sep 6, 2010 8:48:29 PM EDT] Relaax COCO for example

[Sep 6, 2010 8:48:41 PM EDT] InvestorsLive yes u can – shorting off pops – I just don’t like to

[Sep 6, 2010 8:48:47 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I like risk/reward on my side…

[Sep 6, 2010 8:49:00 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if it’s a big gap down and I see some pops I may short into it but

[Sep 6, 2010 8:49:09 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I wish I had patience with gap downs and let them fade fade fade

[Sep 6, 2010 8:49:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive you can do it surely.. but if it steals most of ur attention (like it does mine)

[Sep 6, 2010 8:49:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive maybe $$ and your mind better on other stocks

[Sep 6, 2010 8:49:55 PM EDT] investormind i have a question

[Sep 6, 2010 8:50:05 PM EDT] InvestorsLive sure

[Sep 6, 2010 8:50:46 PM EDT] investormind you mentioned as always hows you like to short after parabolic moves…like IDT. Do you look for volume spikes with them or low volume to begin shorting/

[Sep 6, 2010 8:51:16 PM EDT] InvestorsLive lower vol most times

[Sep 6, 2010 8:51:20 PM EDT] investormind i always thought to look for volume spikes with over extension..instead of low vol

[Sep 6, 2010 8:51:28 PM EDT] investormind ok

[Sep 6, 2010 8:51:37 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but point is instead of going .05 at a time.. or .10

[Sep 6, 2010 8:51:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive itspeeds up to .30-.50 -1.00+

[Sep 6, 2010 8:51:52 PM EDT] InvestorsLive in a 1 to 2 min wick

[Sep 6, 2010 8:52:00 PM EDT] InvestorsLive like the day we short SOMX

[Sep 6, 2010 8:52:33 PM EDT] InvestorsLive it was going up .01-.05-.07 per candle

[Sep 6, 2010 8:52:37 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and then sped up .30+

[Sep 6, 2010 8:52:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive was looking to short into parabolic so started into it on the pop

[Sep 6, 2010 8:52:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive etc

[Sep 6, 2010 8:52:51 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that kinda stuff

[Sep 6, 2010 8:52:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any further questions re: this topic?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:53:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ————————

[Sep 6, 2010 8:53:19 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Can you go over scans ran for subs?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:53:26 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I have my normal scan which picks them up right here: http://www.investorsunderground.com/2010/02/28/equityfeed-q-stocks-pull-backs-bounces-seminar/ this is equityfeed you’ll need to subscribe to it if you want to use their service.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:53:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Sub penny scan I simply put a scan between .001 and .01 for 900k + volume so I can catch the morning pops. Nothing more than that.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:53:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ——————————-

[Sep 6, 2010 8:53:51 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: When will/won’t you trade the first 2 hrs?

[Sep 6, 2010 8:54:06 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Not sure what this question is asking but in THIS market… SUMMER 2010 .. as I’ve said in every scan at night… the market is hot in the AM til 11ish .. then hits the snooze button and fires up 2pm .. but heats up at 3pm into close. That’s how I’m trading it rather than getting caught in boredom trades during the lull and losing.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:54:32 PM EDT] TMcNasty x2 on that

[Sep 6, 2010 8:54:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ———————-

[Sep 6, 2010 8:54:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: Do you hold sub pennies over night? How much will you allow a subber to go against you before you bail out? How much will you allow a subber to run before you won’t enter

[Sep 6, 2010 8:55:00 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Sure you can hold subs over night… but most of the time I just take the move and sell it.. I’m not greedy and rather be out into the first move at least 1/2 just in case it has no follow through. If it does and closes strong I would consider overnighting it.. http://www.investorsunderground.com/2010/04/11/seminar-otcbbs-gappers-buyssells-adrs/

[Sep 6, 2010 8:55:12 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I don’t like them to go against me.. first of all it could go against me 50% but it’s small money so I don’t care. They are like a lottery ticket.. if you are playing big $$ and 25-50% is a big loss to you on the $ at risk… you’re in too big. But ..

[Sep 6, 2010 8:55:20 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I let them prove themselves first that they have a market and are continuing before just jumping in. If it has a market you can just trade the trend. As you saw this week … it doesn’t matter how much a sub penny has ran in order to jump in/not jump in .. it depends on the market and how it’s trading.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:55:21 PM EDT] investormind you always hold o/n if they finish strong if im not mistaken

[Sep 6, 2010 8:55:26 PM EDT] InvestorsLive DMGM INOL CMGR etc all were perfect trades chasing 3000-5000% up on the day as they were trading like Nasdaqs – they had a trend.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:56:07 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I haven’t been holding much over these days – rather just have cash – not really a benefit to holding over like the gaps we used to get before

[Sep 6, 2010 8:56:21 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if it continues outta open great.. I can just buy at open… but if it doesn’t gap – I’m all set

[Sep 6, 2010 8:56:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I really haven’t been holding much over as I’ve stated

[Sep 6, 2010 8:56:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive subbers – up to u – I’m in.. I’m out.. I’m done

[Sep 6, 2010 8:56:52 PM EDT] InvestorsLive —————————–

[Sep 6, 2010 8:56:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: All of my losses have come from me being reluctant to take losses bc I do not want to waste a day trade (until I can make the 5k to move on up in the world Im sure this will be a silly mistake i keep making) I was wondering if there is any particular setups you like for finding overnight holds. Although I understand that what looks like something that could turn into an overnight hold could quickly be a day trade Im not really sure of what even “looks” like an overnight hold…

[Sep 6, 2010 8:57:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive If you want to keep losing – then keep making the mistake that you’ve just stated is a known mistake. That’s a good way to keep losing. You’ve defined an issue… fix it. You have X trades available per week – stop stretching it.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:57:51 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Also – If you are putting yourself in a 4th trade per week which you are forced to hold, you’re limiting your chances to success. Just focus on highly probable set ups that we’ve gone over… of if you are looking for over night moves – look for OTCs that are closing well that you could sell the next morning – I rarely over night Nasdaqs since there are so many factors involved.

[Sep 6, 2010 8:58:26 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I would take a trade 1/2 size if you’re looking for swings so you have twice the range to go against you.. downside is it will take twice the move the right way to help you

[Sep 6, 2010 8:58:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive OTCs are great for those under PDT (the ones that close strong) but like I said they haven’t had too much over night power and gaps lately

[Sep 6, 2010 8:59:21 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I would suggest Broad Street Trading

[Sep 6, 2010 8:59:29 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if an OTC/Nasdaq trader

[Sep 6, 2010 8:59:33 PM EDT] InvestorsLive or WTC if just a Nasdaq Trader

[Sep 6, 2010 8:59:50 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but in that case – sub $5k … it’s going to be a bit tough

[Sep 6, 2010 8:59:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Just focus on set ups

[Sep 6, 2010 9:00:09 PM EDT] InvestorsLive former pumps let them trade out

[Sep 6, 2010 9:00:14 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and join the green to red

[Sep 6, 2010 9:00:22 PM EDT] TMcNasty Is that PDT question submitter here now? If so PM me.

[Sep 6, 2010 9:00:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive TMcNasty trades under PDT and does quite well – little bit at a time

[Sep 6, 2010 9:01:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive doesn’t make huge scores – but it adds up

[Sep 6, 2010 9:01:10 PM EDT] TMcNasty You can’t be afraid to ‘lose a daytrade’

[Sep 6, 2010 9:01:21 PM EDT] TMcNasty I know its hard…trust me i know.

[Sep 6, 2010 9:01:36 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any other questions re: that one?

[Sep 6, 2010 9:01:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ————————

[Sep 6, 2010 9:02:02 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: Im learning a lot when it comes to spotting certain setups once a particular ticker comes across my desk (all thanks to you!) but I was wondering if there was a way that you look for the stocks themselves (i.e. screeners etc).

[Sep 6, 2010 9:02:19 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Yes – http://www.investorsunderground.com/2010/02/28/equityfeed-q-stocks-pull-backs-bounces-seminar/ EquityFeed we use and Muddy uses StockFetcher. If you review the seminar tab and Muddys post http://greenonthescreen.blogspot.com/2008/06/im-gonna-try.html he goes over what he uses for Stock Fetcher

[Sep 6, 2010 9:02:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if you click Dashboard and stock fetcher scans – all that info is there as well

[Sep 6, 2010 9:03:10 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any questions related to those screeners?

[Sep 6, 2010 9:03:31 PM EDT] Relaax Link for equityfeed discount?

[Sep 6, 2010 9:03:46 PM EDT] investormind yes

[Sep 6, 2010 9:03:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive http://bit.ly/1pilhS

[Sep 6, 2010 9:03:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive its rebated

[Sep 6, 2010 9:04:06 PM EDT] Relaax $180/monthly right?

[Sep 6, 2010 9:04:06 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if you don’t get it let me know and I’ll email them – but they have been great so far

[Sep 6, 2010 9:04:07 PM EDT] investormind ive been reviewing Muddys pattenrns all day

[Sep 6, 2010 9:04:18 PM EDT] investormind but cant figure out how to add the ADR 30 to SF

[Sep 6, 2010 9:04:27 PM EDT] InvestorsLive all prices are there on the page – u only need microcap for the screens

[Sep 6, 2010 9:04:47 PM EDT] investormind patterns

[Sep 6, 2010 9:04:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive bmon/Muddy may be able to help u later with the ADR question

[Sep 6, 2010 9:05:02 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ————————-

[Sep 6, 2010 9:05:11 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: Is there anything particular you look for in some of the “lotto” plays that have been doing well recently (I understand that it prob wont last much longer if at all but just for reference I was wondering if there is a specific type of volume or pps you like to see before you touch them at all)

[Sep 6, 2010 9:05:19 PM EDT] InvestorsLive The ones that have been running lately are lower volume 2-3 million (end of day 20m) volume and not 100m + .. so if you see something up a lot and it has 50-100m+ volume it’s highly unlikely that it’s going to run 5000%. It’s the thinner small float plays churning the float 4-5 times a day and continually building a higher base that have been hanging up there.

[Sep 6, 2010 9:05:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any questions related to that?

[Sep 6, 2010 9:06:06 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ———————-

[Sep 6, 2010 9:06:09 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: My question is about MM’s. Which ones are the good/bad/and the ugly. I know from chat VERT, BMIC, FANC and DOMS are sellers but I see you post about others that are supporting a stock such as SEAB or AYME and I don’t I know the ones you want to see if you are long a stock.

[Sep 6, 2010 9:06:34 PM EDT] InvestorsLive This isn’t really important to most of you – just those that play heavy OTCs

[Sep 6, 2010 9:06:36 PM EDT] InvestorsLive VERT BMIC FANC and DOMS can also be support – it’s all based on what I see happening in the box.. it will come with experience as you’ll see it happen more and more – but the main thing to look for like when we nailed the CLKZ

[Sep 6, 2010 9:06:40 PM EDT] InvestorsLive [Aug 25, 2010 1:07:30 PM EDT] InvestorsLive shorted some CLKZ just in case

[Sep 6, 2010 9:06:55 PM EDT] InvestorsLive SEAB was the main support (meaning he was best bid all the way up taking in all the shares that hit the bid). Why do they do this? It’s a trader at a firm in this case .. SEAB.. if they are best bid they can see the order flow coming in – it’s just another way to manipulate. For example:

[Sep 6, 2010 9:07:03 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Someone decides to sell maybe 50,000 shares and wants to hit the bid… SEAB trader can see the order size coming in at them and make a decision 1. take the 50k lot or 2. take 500 shares and downtick. This is why on most promotional stocks (pennypic, crazypennystocks etc.) those that have a trader involved in the promotion – you see WDCO, SEAB, NOBL and other full service firms on bids.

[Sep 6, 2010 9:07:29 PM EDT] InvestorsLive In the case with CLKZ when I short .. SEAB was back peddling a bit – rather than taking in size he was down ticking on 500 shares but this time BMIC WDCO and FANC joined the offer and started getting aggressive. If you remember LQMT when it crashed… and every other promo – NXTH MSEH CLRH – at the top BMIC FANC and sometimes WDCO were the ones that killed it (after a few failed attempts).

[Sep 6, 2010 9:07:41 PM EDT] InvestorsLive NOW where to be careful – sometimes they just trap shorts in by down ticking a bit … and then catching it .. supporting it bringing back to HODs as you saw multiple times on CLKZ.

[Sep 6, 2010 9:07:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive The key is just letting it trade out.. normally when its nearing the “end” it starts to uptick faster – once it stops rolling steadily up and starts to flat line – I start watching for top action – usually BMIC and FANC come in and test the waters before they size in.

[Sep 6, 2010 9:08:16 PM EDT] InvestorsLive also another note is … many times you’ll see ARCA on there (if SEAB and SEAB are not on best bid/ask or WDCO best/bid ask)

[Sep 6, 2010 9:08:27 PM EDT] InvestorsLive sometimes they try to make it look like they are only buyers

[Sep 6, 2010 9:08:31 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but in reality the ARCA on the offer

[Sep 6, 2010 9:08:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive is them selling too

[Sep 6, 2010 9:08:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that’s actually illegal

[Sep 6, 2010 9:08:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but they do it anyway

[Sep 6, 2010 9:09:12 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ———————————-

[Sep 6, 2010 9:09:14 PM EDT] InvestorsLive And that’s it

[Sep 6, 2010 9:09:25 PM EDT] pkto that was a good answer really helps

[Sep 6, 2010 9:10:58 PM EDT] pkto can you tell by your own execution speed what mm’s are doing? LQMT was tricky to cover when it broke

[Sep 6, 2010 9:11:05 PM EDT] TMcNasty yeah nice work Nate…do you wanna tell us to buy DVDs now?

[Sep 6, 2010 9:11:08 PM EDT] RMICK2010 THX for taking the time!

[Sep 6, 2010 9:12:01 PM EDT] liquid and everyone else too

[Sep 6, 2010 9:12:04 PM EDT] BearNine seems like when routes lock up in the otcbb markets they are holding the phone and looking for some bidders

[Sep 6, 2010 9:12:12 PM EDT] BearNine so the price doesnt completely collapse

[Sep 6, 2010 9:12:33 PM EDT] Hawk29 Just wondering, on average, how many hours a day do you spend in front of your computer scanning, researching etc., during non-market hours?

[Sep 6, 2010 9:12:47 PM EDT] InvestorsLive hour after hours

[Sep 6, 2010 9:12:53 PM EDT] InvestorsLive then get up 7-8am

[Sep 6, 2010 9:13:33 PM EDT] Miltona IL, when you’re shorting something that has tested and failed HOD, etc… a good stop is usually at HOD, right? But sometimes I see you just average up on your short, adding more. Do you have specific reasons for when and when NOT to do this?

[Sep 6, 2010 9:13:47 PM EDT] Hawk29 On average, how late at night?
