July 12th Seminar

by | Jul 12, 2009

[Jul 12, 2009 5:01:47 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Welcome guys, got a few questions in email (not too too many) we’ll answer those and then open it up for a discussion/questions that you guys still may have or anything else you’re having trouble with/don’t understand

[Jul 12, 2009 5:02:10 PM EDT] InvestorsLive feel free to PM me during this if you have additional questions and as always we’ll keep channel open… unless on topic questions

[Jul 12, 2009 5:02:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if a few ask .. let myself or Muddy have a chance to answer and then ask the next

[Jul 12, 2009 5:02:58 PM EDT] Laura IL one question I saw: Why does this chatroom focus on stocks under $20, and is there any advantage to these cheaper stocks? I understand that stocks under $1 are different beasts altogether, as they are better readable by jiggyness and can have higher return rates (30% or more), but I’m talking about the stocks the chatroom focuses on that are generally $5-15. Is there is something specific in the nature of these low priced stocks which makes them more attractive to trade (versus stocks $20-$40)? Also, oftentimes, I’ve seen Laura and Tort alert stocks over $20 (and not just FAS/FAZ).

[Jul 12, 2009 5:04:05 PM EDT] Laura Asked and answered I think. Lower priced more volatile, more potential gain……..and loss without stops.

[Jul 12, 2009 5:04:36 PM EDT] Laura Riskier. I see new traders trying to trade 1¢ stocks.

[Jul 12, 2009 5:04:47 PM EDT] Laura Okay…….you better be good.

[Jul 12, 2009 5:05:33 PM EDT] ttw my question is how do we know if we are too late to enter a play or not when you guys bring it to the table?

[Jul 12, 2009 5:05:47 PM EDT] InvestorsLive (Jul 12-20:02) InvestorsLive: feel free to PM me during this if you have additional questions and as always we’ll keep channel open… unless on topic questions

[Jul 12, 2009 5:08:06 PM EDT] Muddy first..i believe in daytrading, not swing or buy and hold..especially in the this enviroment…so thats why i focus on the under 20’s but you will see me mention the ones over 20 that are near or at new 52’s…those are the ones i believe are the safest buy/hold/swing ones

[Jul 12, 2009 5:09:17 PM EDT] Muddy if you are against the EDT rule…look into CyGroup

[Jul 12, 2009 5:09:24 PM EDT] Laura as far as “too late” to enter……..it usually is if you have to ask. I see people ask this on chat after a stock is up 100%. Muddy may have alerted at 15-30% up…

[Jul 12, 2009 5:10:03 PM EDT] Muddy yup,if you have to ask…you’re probably tooo late

[Jul 12, 2009 5:10:28 PM EDT] Laura that’s why the pennies are such a crap shoot.

[Jul 12, 2009 5:10:56 PM EDT] Muddy many times i’ll call a stock..then 3 hours later get pm’s aasking if it’s too late

[Jul 12, 2009 5:12:46 PM EDT] Muddy and i’ve said this over and over…the one’s under $1 are not for smaller inexperianced accts

[Jul 12, 2009 5:15:04 PM EDT] Muddy and then i got 2 pm’s friday on ANTP….asking if its a buy EXCATLY the time I said protect the profits on it…then it drops over a buck…

[Jul 12, 2009 5:17:15 PM EDT] Muddy it was mentioned in pre then i was calling it as it goes up but hardly anyone was following it wirth me in chat…then its up huge and folks ask if its a buy hours later…thats a sure way to blow your acct

[Jul 12, 2009 5:19:51 PM EDT] ultimachi I just think people think since it’s cheaper, it’s better….I used to have that issue…but then again it’s a catch 22, I’ve gotten pretty good at reading these penny plays….

[Jul 12, 2009 5:20:01 PM EDT] ultimachi But it cost me

[Jul 12, 2009 5:21:06 PM EDT] Laura We’ve had pretty safe profits playing the higher priced ones too. 100 shares, buck move, $100

[Jul 12, 2009 5:21:20 PM EDT] cytopia what indicators can we use to tell us its time to get out/ get in other than the chatroom alerts?

[Jul 12, 2009 5:21:38 PM EDT] ultimachi stocks around 5 dollars are just easier, since they don’t move as fast as the higher priced ones, and the setups are more easier to play…..with ones over 20 they move pretty quick and people freak out on a .20 cent move on a stock that high, when in actuality it’s normal

[Jul 12, 2009 5:22:24 PM EDT] Laura I’ve got a list of about 80 or so stocks in $10-40 range with ADR30 over 5.

[Jul 12, 2009 5:22:57 PM EDT] Laura Solid watch lists to scan thru the day. They definitely follow the market.

[Jul 12, 2009 5:24:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive cytopia many times you’ll see Muddy and I trading some that are “inching up” .01. .02 at a time thru the day.. then all of a sudden you’ll start to see the volume increase and it pop .10-.20 cents or more.. I always take some profit into this and then if it holds I’ll hold the other half since its probable it wants a bit more… for example a great example is FTWR Friday.. I alerted way earlier.. entered .35xx or .36xx but sold part of it since it was starting to pick up but then BANG it spiked .06-.07 in just a few seconds – that’s a good profit protection area vs. chasing it for the buy

[Jul 12, 2009 5:24:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive another sign… opposite of that is when stuff starts going sideways… and fails at new highs

[Jul 12, 2009 5:24:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive usually you’ll see me for example on AMKR

[Jul 12, 2009 5:25:07 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I think that was it.. may be wrong

[Jul 12, 2009 5:25:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive yes it was.. but I said if it fails at 4.90s.. .good s/s imo

[Jul 12, 2009 5:25:40 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I look for the same toping action to gear a buy/sell profit/cut my loss

[Jul 12, 2009 5:25:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive volume always a great indicator

[Jul 12, 2009 5:26:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive remember WRGL pump

[Jul 12, 2009 5:26:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive another good one on OTCBB/Pinks is when you see a bunch of blocks

[Jul 12, 2009 5:27:13 PM EDT] InvestorsLive most companies (95%+ on the OTCBB) are in the business to sell stock… at .68 cents I said .. lotta blocks coming in be sure to take profits here or at least lock in

[Jul 12, 2009 5:27:27 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that’s a great way to gauage..

[Jul 12, 2009 5:28:41 PM EDT] InvestorsLive many times if I see a stock flying … and its up a lot

[Jul 12, 2009 5:28:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I will just start monitoring it for the s/s

[Jul 12, 2009 5:29:13 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I’ve missed the long (potentially) sure it could still run 10-20% more but risk vs. reward not in my favor

[Jul 12, 2009 5:29:36 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so if I see a high flyer I start to watch for it to flat line at HODs and fail on a re-test of HODs ie: SBUX the otherday

[Jul 12, 2009 5:29:39 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and my short into the close

[Jul 12, 2009 5:30:23 PM EDT] Laura questions fine now. let’s keep it short tonight though.

[Jul 12, 2009 5:31:00 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Question: When the pre-list is posted, how is everyone tracking them for ‘green touches’ , 10/60 crosses, etc. ? I’ve tried entering them into a ScotTrade watchlist, but I’m not sure if this is the best. In short, how are you/we monitoring and identifying stocks that are ‘ready’? And how are we detecting stocks which aren’t on the pre-list?

[Jul 12, 2009 5:31:08 PM EDT] InvestorsLive answer to all of that

[Jul 12, 2009 5:31:10 PM EDT] InvestorsLive = HOD list

[Jul 12, 2009 5:31:13 PM EDT] InvestorsLive simple as that

[Jul 12, 2009 5:31:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but as you know .. or should pre list is posted every AM at 9:15AM

[Jul 12, 2009 5:31:28 PM EDT] InvestorsLive or right around it

[Jul 12, 2009 5:31:36 PM EDT] InvestorsLive 9:10-9:29AM

[Jul 12, 2009 5:31:39 PM EDT] Laura yes, Scott watchlist, then they are highlighted on the HOD list

[Jul 12, 2009 5:32:22 PM EDT] Laura Muddy watches them like that on Scott, I load them in IB page. We both catch dfferent things.

[Jul 12, 2009 5:32:29 PM EDT] Laura But HOD list essential.

[Jul 12, 2009 5:32:55 PM EDT] InvestorsLive the HOD list is the cheat sheet to whats in play

[Jul 12, 2009 5:32:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive whats making moves to nHODs etc

[Jul 12, 2009 5:33:09 PM EDT] InvestorsLive or nLODs.. right now I haven’t focused too much on hte LOD list

[Jul 12, 2009 5:33:17 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we aren’t in that market as much as we were a few months back

[Jul 12, 2009 5:33:20 PM EDT] InvestorsLive where u could short any LOD and be a winner

[Jul 12, 2009 5:33:27 PM EDT] Laura Muddy doesn’t either IL, but I watch both normally

[Jul 12, 2009 5:34:02 PM EDT] InvestorsLive One tool that has been nice lately is Yng post the Pre Losers

[Jul 12, 2009 5:34:10 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I like the ones -35-40%..

[Jul 12, 2009 5:34:21 PM EDT] Laura I forget which plunger I caught on LOD list a few weeks ago, MTMC I think

[Jul 12, 2009 5:34:28 PM EDT] InvestorsLive you’ll often see Muddy play them too once they near a even dollar mark… or HODs

[Jul 12, 2009 5:34:38 PM EDT] InvestorsLive AXL is a good example last week

[Jul 12, 2009 5:34:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we pulled off the $2s

[Jul 12, 2009 5:34:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive bunch in chat played too but

[Jul 12, 2009 5:35:02 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we focus on the even dollar mark as a frame of reference

[Jul 12, 2009 5:35:12 PM EDT] InvestorsLive settles… test the whole number… crosses.. bang

[Jul 12, 2009 5:36:47 PM EDT] InvestorsLive lets take a failed pump

[Jul 12, 2009 5:36:50 PM EDT] InvestorsLive for example too

[Jul 12, 2009 5:36:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive many ask for “failed” plays at times

[Jul 12, 2009 5:36:58 PM EDT] InvestorsLive to see how we would hvae reacted

[Jul 12, 2009 5:37:00 PM EDT] InvestorsLive or how to cut losses

[Jul 12, 2009 5:37:01 PM EDT] InvestorsLive AFTC

[Jul 12, 2009 5:37:09 PM EDT] InvestorsLive was a Beacon pump… everyone aware of what it was

[Jul 12, 2009 5:37:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive vol surged hit a high.. then pulled back..

[Jul 12, 2009 5:37:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive 2nd re-test to make a new high failed

[Jul 12, 2009 5:37:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so you saw Mindstatements and myself just saying.. hell with it

[Jul 12, 2009 5:37:50 PM EDT] InvestorsLive i was in .047 out .049 and .05

[Jul 12, 2009 5:38:00 PM EDT] InvestorsLive b/c it failed to re-break .053

[Jul 12, 2009 5:38:11 PM EDT] InvestorsLive GZGT

[Jul 12, 2009 5:38:17 PM EDT] InvestorsLive hit vol scan.. lotta blocks

[Jul 12, 2009 5:38:29 PM EDT] InvestorsLive in below a penny/penny cross touching upon what Muddy said earlier

[Jul 12, 2009 5:38:37 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I got a few PMs… after it nearly doubled

[Jul 12, 2009 5:38:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive is it a buy???

[Jul 12, 2009 5:38:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive etc

[Jul 12, 2009 5:39:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive another example of when its time to move to the next… if it holds all day and starts to re-test the HODs then maybe…

[Jul 12, 2009 5:40:00 PM EDT] InvestorsLive play then.. but don’t start chasing the doubler thinking its the next big thing, you’ll get burnt

[Jul 12, 2009 5:40:16 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Any other questions guys?

[Jul 12, 2009 5:40:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive As you saw in the newsletter I included quite a few recaps

[Jul 12, 2009 5:40:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive whihc I would suggest looking at even though you are in the chat room.. because you can learn the lingo pretty well with how Muddy/myself react

[Jul 12, 2009 5:40:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive given certain moves

[Jul 12, 2009 5:40:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and how/what lead up to the move etc

[Jul 12, 2009 5:41:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive quiet tonight!

[Jul 12, 2009 5:41:33 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if no more questions feel free to PM/email

[Jul 12, 2009 5:42:09 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we’re always here as you know – especially during the day if you are having trouble or curious if you should be chasing.. or what our thought process is at any given time

[Jul 12, 2009 5:42:13 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we’re here

[Jul 12, 2009 5:43:29 PM EDT] tarheeljeff I’ve read a lot about the 10/60 cross on the ‘GreenOnTheScreen’ blog, are you actively monitoring for these during the day? Or, do you pull up the chart and look for it after you see a stock on the HOD list?

[Jul 12, 2009 5:43:57 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I don’t use it

[Jul 12, 2009 5:44:01 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I use volume and 1 min daily charts

[Jul 12, 2009 5:44:28 PM EDT] InvestorsLive volume is my indicator along with a HOD re-test —- Muddy uses at times I think.. but in this market is really not that hard to find a nice trade

[Jul 12, 2009 5:45:00 PM EDT] tarheeljeff so you see a stock on the HOD list, that was on the pre-list, you then pull up the 1-min chart and look at price/volume?

[Jul 12, 2009 5:45:04 PM EDT] ttw what is an ideal trade for you guys?

[Jul 12, 2009 5:45:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive what do u mean ttw?

[Jul 12, 2009 5:45:28 PM EDT] InvestorsLive thats right tarheel.. as long as it sets up the way that I like it

[Jul 12, 2009 5:45:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive which I’ve shown in past seminars.. on the charts

[Jul 12, 2009 5:45:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive InvestorsLive.com/seminar as well as the previous ones

[Jul 12, 2009 5:45:52 PM EDT] Muddy tarheel..yes

[Jul 12, 2009 5:46:09 PM EDT] InvestorsLive price action tells us the story.. the vol hits is what draws us in

[Jul 12, 2009 5:46:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we aren’t interested in sub 100k or sub 1 mil hits

[Jul 12, 2009 5:46:30 PM EDT] Muddy you can use the last 3 5 mins bars if you don’t want to jump in at open

[Jul 12, 2009 5:46:54 PM EDT] Muddy you look at the last 3/5’s for the high

[Jul 12, 2009 5:47:15 PM EDT] Muddy then if it breaks it.its pretty safe to long at that point

[Jul 12, 2009 5:48:25 PM EDT] Muddy with 1 min you have so much noise imo

[Jul 12, 2009 5:49:05 PM EDT] Laura Can you talk about this at the seminar: (Jul 10-13:00) Fortunate Son: curious why you thought AXL was a short earlier (Jul 10-13:00) Muddy: cause it was showing bad qbox action on Scott aroung the 2.18 area (Jul 10-13:01) Muddy: looked like it might breakdown soon (Jul 10-13:01) Fortunate Son: so when it didnt’ make new highs, you figured short? (Jul 10-13:01) Muddy: well yeah cause when price rose a penny the bid was dropping (Jul 10-13:02) Fortunate Son: hmmmm., ok, thanks (Jul 10-13:04) Fortunate Son: maybe you can talk about this at the seminar….that would really help (Jul 10-13:04) Fortunate Son: how you read the qbox in that situation for instance

[Jul 12, 2009 5:49:45 PM EDT] Muddy the qbox i try to read….

[Jul 12, 2009 5:50:11 PM EDT] Muddy if i see a stock as AXL that was up but dropping off hods…

[Jul 12, 2009 5:50:26 PM EDT] Muddy i look to see how the qbox action looks

[Jul 12, 2009 5:50:44 PM EDT] Muddy with AXL it was awful around 2.18 area…

[Jul 12, 2009 5:51:07 PM EDT] Muddy every time it rose a penny or 2 it would get a lower bid

[Jul 12, 2009 5:51:17 PM EDT] Muddy thats a huge clue

[Jul 12, 2009 5:51:44 PM EDT] Muddy the opposite is the same

[Jul 12, 2009 5:52:01 PM EDT] Muddy does it drop a few cents but the ask sticks?

[Jul 12, 2009 5:52:14 PM EDT] Muddy or in some cases even rises

[Jul 12, 2009 5:53:25 PM EDT] Fortunate Son in the case of AXL does it mean there are big sellers waiting?

[Jul 12, 2009 5:54:57 PM EDT] tarheeljeff earlier, Laura made mention of seeing “big blocks” , what was she referring to and where does one watch for these?

[Jul 12, 2009 5:55:22 PM EDT] Laura I never mentioned big blocks

[Jul 12, 2009 5:55:34 PM EDT] Laura Don’t watch level 2

[Jul 12, 2009 5:55:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I mentioned on WRGL where you start to see the volume pick up and big blocks coming thru i was referring to the pumps we play at times

[Jul 12, 2009 5:56:04 PM EDT] Muddy the reason i mentioned AXL at that time was because some one asked if DAN was a short then…same sector…

[Jul 12, 2009 5:56:13 PM EDT] tarheeljeff ahh! yes, it was you IL, sorry for the confusion

[Jul 12, 2009 5:56:24 PM EDT] tarheeljeff (couldn’t scroll back far enough to verify)

[Jul 12, 2009 5:56:39 PM EDT] Muddy and no DAN had very good qbox action..not trading at all like AXL was at the time

[Jul 12, 2009 5:56:58 PM EDT] Nathan Muddy can I place another request for you to tell us what your doing with a stock and at what price?

[Jul 12, 2009 5:57:01 PM EDT] Nathan If you say you will buy LCC at $2 or even an OTC at SPNG at .10 I dont see the harm in that I see me getting my money for signing up ?

[Jul 12, 2009 5:57:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive That’s not how we trade nathan…

[Jul 12, 2009 5:57:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive there’s no niche there

[Jul 12, 2009 5:58:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we aren’t a stock pickin service

[Jul 12, 2009 5:58:09 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we don’t tell you to buy and sell

[Jul 12, 2009 5:58:14 PM EDT] Nathan IL you and Muddy are great in picking stocks on the move

[Jul 12, 2009 5:58:30 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Muddy explains how he trades over and over.. and most times during day you’ll see me say what I’m looking for

[Jul 12, 2009 5:58:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive 9 outta 10 times that’s my plan

[Jul 12, 2009 5:58:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and I stick to it

[Jul 12, 2009 5:58:45 PM EDT] Nathan but I never profit from it I just see you guys making money

[Jul 12, 2009 5:58:57 PM EDT] InvestorsLive it doesn’t happen over night Nathan… as we’ve discussed in PM

[Jul 12, 2009 5:59:02 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we’re always here to help ya during day

[Jul 12, 2009 5:59:13 PM EDT] InvestorsLive for example the CLWR

[Jul 12, 2009 5:59:22 PM EDT] InvestorsLive where i told you where’d I’d cut losses but if it held over 6.10

[Jul 12, 2009 5:59:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive possible swing

[Jul 12, 2009 5:59:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive or not that one..

[Jul 12, 2009 5:59:35 PM EDT] Muddy right i’m trying teach…you have to realize this as i’ve said…

[Jul 12, 2009 5:59:37 PM EDT] InvestorsLive CTWR or whatever

[Jul 12, 2009 5:59:48 PM EDT] Muddy i enter a bunch of stocks….

[Jul 12, 2009 5:59:58 PM EDT] InvestorsLive there it is.. CWTR from 5.80s to 6.50s

[Jul 12, 2009 6:00:09 PM EDT] Muddy i trade 1/30th of my acct in 1 stock….

[Jul 12, 2009 6:00:10 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I don’t mind helping you out like I did on that.. and tell you where I’d cut it off etc

[Jul 12, 2009 6:00:33 PM EDT] Muddy what if you or someone else goes in 50-100% on a trade

[Jul 12, 2009 6:00:35 PM EDT] Nathan 1/30th wow

[Jul 12, 2009 6:00:41 PM EDT] InvestorsLive hell… I wouldn’t want to hold SPNG/buy at .10

[Jul 12, 2009 6:00:42 PM EDT] Muddy how does that teach you

[Jul 12, 2009 6:00:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if it loses .10

[Jul 12, 2009 6:00:52 PM EDT] InvestorsLive its going south.. fast

[Jul 12, 2009 6:00:59 PM EDT] Muddy yes 3000 with 90,000 acct

[Jul 12, 2009 6:00:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive never invest in otcbb’s.. tehy are trades

[Jul 12, 2009 6:01:04 PM EDT] Muddy is my norm

[Jul 12, 2009 6:01:40 PM EDT] Nathan Muddy how many stock will you hold intraday?

[Jul 12, 2009 6:01:47 PM EDT] Laura A lot of times Muddy‘s mentions are ignored in the morning.

[Jul 12, 2009 6:02:01 PM EDT] Laura Then when up 50-100%, they get interest.

[Jul 12, 2009 6:02:15 PM EDT] Laura You gotta learn to check news and read charts on your own.

[Jul 12, 2009 6:02:48 PM EDT] Laura Nathan, it varies. sometimes a couple, sometimes a dozen.

[Jul 12, 2009 6:03:00 PM EDT] Laura Doesn’t really matter.

[Jul 12, 2009 6:03:02 PM EDT] Nathan Because He didnt say to buy He just said INFO or something like that

[Jul 12, 2009 6:03:23 PM EDT] Nathan Just names not I will try some here

[Jul 12, 2009 6:03:23 PM EDT] Muddy Nathan…i usually trade at least 10 at a time

[Jul 12, 2009 6:03:24 PM EDT] Laura HE’S not here to tell you to buy.

[Jul 12, 2009 6:03:51 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we scan 100’s of stocks on a daily basis

[Jul 12, 2009 6:03:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and bring the best ones and most timely

[Jul 12, 2009 6:04:06 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that we feel have the best potential

[Jul 12, 2009 6:04:07 PM EDT] Muddy and i wont because i could easy fronyrun ANTP,low float low vol kind

[Jul 12, 2009 6:04:10 PM EDT] InvestorsLive or that we remember from previous times

[Jul 12, 2009 6:04:19 PM EDT] Muddy i won’t resort to that

[Jul 12, 2009 6:04:24 PM EDT] Muddy i dont have to

[Jul 12, 2009 6:04:30 PM EDT] InvestorsLive sometimes risk/reward.. PRAN right away

[Jul 12, 2009 6:04:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive you saw my comments

[Jul 12, 2009 6:04:36 PM EDT] Nathan I am just very frustrated I have been trying to learn Muddy‘s style and I dont see what he can see before buying

[Jul 12, 2009 6:04:38 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I said I bought 1.30… it was interesting…

[Jul 12, 2009 6:04:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive most vol since march 2008

[Jul 12, 2009 6:04:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and had news 5 min before

[Jul 12, 2009 6:04:55 PM EDT] InvestorsLive giantseatutle amongst others jumped in

[Jul 12, 2009 6:04:55 PM EDT] Laura Nathan, have you read his blog???

[Jul 12, 2009 6:05:25 PM EDT] Nathan Yea and all the seminars

[Jul 12, 2009 6:06:02 PM EDT] tarheeljeff I’m a bit embarassed to ask this question, but I’m new to trading on margin so I have to ask. Let’s say I have $2k in my account, with 2:1 margin, so $4k total buying power. Does that mean I can trade a max of $4k throughout the course of the day, OR can I ‘recycle’ funds? In other words, once I buy/sell a stock are those funds immediately available for trading that same day? (hope that makes sense)

[Jul 12, 2009 6:06:20 PM EDT] InvestorsLive its recycled where you’re at Jeff

[Jul 12, 2009 6:06:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive 2k = 8k of buying power

[Jul 12, 2009 6:06:26 PM EDT] InvestorsLive on marginable stocks

[Jul 12, 2009 6:06:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if they aren’t marginable

[Jul 12, 2009 6:06:34 PM EDT] InvestorsLive its $2k

[Jul 12, 2009 6:06:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so OTCBBs = $2k pinks and stocks under $5

[Jul 12, 2009 6:06:52 PM EDT] InvestorsLive over $5 u can buy $8k worth of stock

[Jul 12, 2009 6:06:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and yes you can buy and sell as many times as you want

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:05 PM EDT] tarheeljeff so, if they’re all marginable (ones I’m trading), I could technically trade like $12k worth through the course of a day, since i”m recycling?

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:15 PM EDT] InvestorsLive no

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive $2 x 4

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:20 PM EDT] InvestorsLive = $8k

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:23 PM EDT] Laura well you got EDT rule to deal with

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive $2k x 4 I mean

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:26 PM EDT] tarheeljeff that’s my max for the day

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:29 PM EDT] tarheeljeff 8k

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:30 PM EDT] InvestorsLive well hes at harmon

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:41 PM EDT] InvestorsLive no not max

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive max u can buy at any given time

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:47 PM EDT] Laura ok

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:49 PM EDT] tarheeljeff I see

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:50 PM EDT] InvestorsLive then u sell that

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:53 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and it refreshes

[Jul 12, 2009 6:07:54 PM EDT] tarheeljeff it’s free again

[Jul 12, 2009 6:23:02 PM EDT] Muddy how long have you been holding LCC

[Jul 12, 2009 6:25:27 PM EDT] Muddy imo,the only time to try a hold now days on anything,is when you get a white candle pierce of the ubb

[Jul 12, 2009 6:25:42 PM EDT] Muddy other than that its way dangerous

[Jul 12, 2009 6:25:49 PM EDT] Muddy just a crap shoot

[Jul 12, 2009 6:26:02 PM EDT] Muddy they go down and down

[Jul 12, 2009 6:28:47 PM EDT] Muddy you also have decent odds on “pinchers”,ones that drop then flatline a few days then show a rise with green candle if the rsi2 was below say 5 in that drop period

[Jul 12, 2009 6:29:13 PM EDT] Muddy other than those 2 ways it really tough the last year

[Jul 12, 2009 6:30:10 PM EDT] Muddy for me i don’t even bother trying…just daytrading them
