[Jan 16, 2012 8:03:02 PM EST]     spazztrader        Hi all

[Jan 16, 2012 8:03:13 PM EST]     InvestorsLive if you want to know about MSFT in the middle of a question about a chart

[Jan 16, 2012 8:03:15 PM EST]     InvestorsLive don’t ask it

[Jan 16, 2012 8:03:40 PM EST]     InvestorsLive secondly, few reminders before we begin too … since most will be gone towards end

[Jan 16, 2012 8:03:54 PM EST]     InvestorsLive one thing I find really interesting and a common thing between people who cancel

[Jan 16, 2012 8:04:01 PM EST]     InvestorsLive here and there is they call and ask how to cancel

[Jan 16, 2012 8:04:09 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I tell them the dashboard and they say “whats the dashboard”

[Jan 16, 2012 8:04:16 PM EST]     tradernyc            lol

[Jan 16, 2012 8:04:28 PM EST]     InvestorsLive so I mean that kinda clarifies a lot for me

[Jan 16, 2012 8:04:45 PM EST]     InvestorsLive if they don’t know where the dashboard is .. they clearly haven’t even seen 1% of what we have here besides the chat room

[Jan 16, 2012 8:04:47 PM EST]     InvestorsLive http://www.investorsunderground.com/dashboard/

[Jan 16, 2012 8:05:02 PM EST]     InvestorsLive so for those who are new or those maybe who have been here for a while and didn’t know

[Jan 16, 2012 8:06:51 PM EST]     InvestorsLive and da goods

[Jan 16, 2012 8:07:03 PM EST]     InvestorsLive Just reading the questions tonight – many GREAT questions

[Jan 16, 2012 8:07:07 PM EST]     InvestorsLive good job this week guys

[Jan 16, 2012 8:07:13 PM EST]     InvestorsLive But a comment on some of the responses

[Jan 16, 2012 8:07:18 PM EST]     InvestorsLive Some questions on the seminar page with just “I don’t get it” … “don’t get it” …. “don’t understand” etc my suggestion to those who just kinda give up after skimming something and not really spending much time thinking about it conceptually .. you really need to change your mind set otherwise trading is not for you. It’s not just going to fall in place all in one sitting, it takes time but shutting the door saying “I don’t get it, teach me again” doesn’t get you anywhere. Review it, think about it, WHAT don’t you get? WHERE aren’t you understanding? You get THIS and THAT but then get confused WHERE. This is how to further yourself in trading, not shutting down.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:08:02 PM EST]     InvestorsLive We are all here to help, but you’ve got to try. I want to help you, and I will help you if you help yourself, but don’t shut down. Think about trying to teach someone something and every time you explain a problem

[Jan 16, 2012 8:08:07 PM EST]     InvestorsLive they just say “I don’t know”

[Jan 16, 2012 8:08:15 PM EST]     InvestorsLive “Don’t get it” etc

[Jan 16, 2012 8:08:35 PM EST]     InvestorsLive Take a look at the problem at hand, WHAT part don’t you get WHERE are you getting lost etc

[Jan 16, 2012 8:08:43 PM EST]     InvestorsLive that’s where I can help and DO help

[Jan 16, 2012 8:09:09 PM EST]     InvestorsLive but if you just shut down and say I don’t get it… not much I can do so as I always say I’m here to help those to help themselves

[Jan 16, 2012 8:09:18 PM EST]     InvestorsLive and that’s what this service is about

[Jan 16, 2012 8:09:30 PM EST]     InvestorsLive Any comments or questions before I begin?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:09:59 PM EST]     InvestorsLive Besides Tebow the most popular white Bronco since OJs truck

[Jan 16, 2012 8:10:54 PM EST]     Rainmaker          lol

[Jan 16, 2012 8:11:00 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: When you are looking at your charts, what indicators do you use?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:11:09 PM EST]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: I use a 1 minute chart much like the ones you see me post every day on twitter or in the chat room. I do not use indicators besides volume and candle sticks. The next question I usually get is … “what about SMA .. EMA” .. the answer is I use ONE MINUTE CANDLESTICK CHARTS W/ VOLUME. Period.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:11:11 PM EST]     tradernyc            New Member Page

[Jan 16, 2012 8:11:52 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: Was 2011 your best year ever? 800k in profits. Also are all your Trades you ever made in your life on your profit.ly? or is there more profits you couldn’t bring over?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:12:06 PM EST]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: Yes every trade posted between the accounts I import. In fact at the end of the year I went back and did a full year import of any missed trades since I typically import automatically going back 2 weeks and ‘spam’ them to twitter so that everyone knows they’re real. Profit.ly is great, people can verify but I wouldn’t trust anyone who doesn’t push them through automatically to twitter and sells something – there’s a big area for cherry picking and that’s why I have made it a point to do it the way I do, there is also features coming out to show who is cherry picking on profit.ly 🙂

[Jan 16, 2012 8:12:37 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I had about another $120k gains at Capstone or so haven’t done my taxes yet so could be +/- $20k but last I checked it was $120k. Those were the trades I’ve posted all along in screen shots but not verified.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:12:52 PM EST]     tradernyc            nice!

[Jan 16, 2012 8:13:20 PM EST]     InvestorsLive And yes was best year ever

[Jan 16, 2012 8:13:36 PM EST]     bksp99  1.2 milion a year!!!!nice 🙂

[Jan 16, 2012 8:13:44 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I’m going to mix it up a bit and do the good stuff first

[Jan 16, 2012 8:13:51 PM EST]     InvestorsLive since I usually wait to do charts towards the end

[Jan 16, 2012 8:13:51 PM EST]     bksp99  taxes will kill you tho..lol

[Jan 16, 2012 8:13:56 PM EST]     himal13                ::up

[Jan 16, 2012 8:14:08 PM EST]     TGJN7   120K after taxers 20K???

[Jan 16, 2012 8:14:17 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: RED/GREEN or GREEN/RED? Do we short or buy these as soon as they go G/R or R/G respectively or is there much more to it? Please elaborate for our understanding.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:14:48 PM EST]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: Neither. These are trades I look to anticipate. These are trades that are on stocks we’ve been trading in recent days. Understand that this doesn’t just mean “Oh the stock went red to green on the day so it must be a buy”

[Jan 16, 2012 8:14:57 PM EST]     InvestorsLive This is related to stocks that are in play like IDIX https://www.investorsunderground.com/img/DYCWDFDEGG.png and ACHN https://www.investorsunderground.com/img/KUAGIHXJWE.png where they may have a weak open but are currently in squeezing/momentum mode and moving like mad.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:15:39 PM EST]     InvestorsLive What I do here is I look for consolidation just shy of red/green and anticipate that move if I see a perk or volume locking some into the red/green pop and riding out the rest as long as the trend holds. Just like this http://www.investorsunderground.com/img/UHXUXDWISD.png

[Jan 16, 2012 8:16:27 PM EST]     InvestorsLive So these are stocks we’ve been playing, not random stuff like MSFT or SIRI etc

[Jan 16, 2012 8:16:40 PM EST]     TGJN7   Do u wait until the cross officially?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:16:42 PM EST]     InvestorsLive stocks that have been in play with big moves that may have had a weak open after some profit taking

[Jan 16, 2012 8:16:49 PM EST]     InvestorsLive keep in mind profit taking is part of the game

[Jan 16, 2012 8:16:51 PM EST]     InvestorsLive its NORMALs

[Jan 16, 2012 8:16:57 PM EST]     InvestorsLive stocks DO go up so just because they are up

[Jan 16, 2012 8:17:03 PM EST]     InvestorsLive does not mean they are a short

[Jan 16, 2012 8:17:27 PM EST]     InvestorsLive TGJN7 – reread what I posted

[Jan 16, 2012 8:17:32 PM EST]     InvestorsLive says what I do and as a chart example

[Jan 16, 2012 8:17:52 PM EST]     InvestorsLive On the flip side I look for weakness and a breakdown off flat line consolidation just like this http://www.investorsunderground.com/img/HYRKHOBURL.png

[Jan 16, 2012 8:18:13 PM EST]     TGJN7   got it

[Jan 16, 2012 8:18:20 PM EST]     tradernyc            DMND chart where would u short time wise?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:18:42 PM EST]     InvestorsLive flat line consolidation … break down…

[Jan 16, 2012 8:18:59 PM EST]     InvestorsLive u tell me?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:18:59 PM EST]     tradernyc            got it.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:19:07 PM EST]     InvestorsLive what time?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:19:13 PM EST]     tradernyc            1:20

[Jan 16, 2012 8:19:18 PM EST]     tradernyc            big red candle

[Jan 16, 2012 8:19:25 PM EST]     InvestorsLive yep and riks to 30.25 range

[Jan 16, 2012 8:19:28 PM EST]     abhive198           if it cracks 29.69

[Jan 16, 2012 8:19:42 PM EST]     InvestorsLive prior high $30 magnet over/under

[Jan 16, 2012 8:19:48 PM EST]     InvestorsLive no not 29.69

[Jan 16, 2012 8:20:09 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I just stated above – flat line consolidation and a perk off it for the long and anticipate red/green move

[Jan 16, 2012 8:20:15 PM EST]     tradernyc            why is risk not $30 since that is where it consolidated?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:20:18 PM EST]     InvestorsLive and the flip side on the short flat line consolidaiton and a fade

[Jan 16, 2012 8:20:35 PM EST]     InvestorsLive you can risk what you want – whatever your plan is you need to stick to it and size in accordingly

[Jan 16, 2012 8:20:53 PM EST]     tradernyc            i see. Have a plan.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:21:05 PM EST]     InvestorsLive on the idea of late day fade

[Jan 16, 2012 8:21:05 PM EST]     InvestorsLive http://www.investorsunderground.com/img/AFMYWKYFPN.png

[Jan 16, 2012 8:21:06 PM EST]     InvestorsLive REE

[Jan 16, 2012 8:21:16 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I look for support levels

[Jan 16, 2012 8:21:37 PM EST]     InvestorsLive if it’s coming into the final 2 hours and a stock like REE is up from $3 to $6.50+ and has yet to pull back

[Jan 16, 2012 8:21:56 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I’m clearly short biased – so with that comes what area is going to interest me for a short

[Jan 16, 2012 8:22:20 PM EST]     InvestorsLive full day support the bottom line, and mid day support the higher line as shown

[Jan 16, 2012 8:22:22 PM EST]     InvestorsLive pretty clear

[Jan 16, 2012 8:22:30 PM EST]     tradernyc            Break of $6.50 would be a short

[Jan 16, 2012 8:22:36 PM EST]     InvestorsLive if it breaks under or looks to break under I would start into the short which I did

[Jan 16, 2012 8:22:54 PM EST]     InvestorsLive it broke and ended up holding – and I took a loss

[Jan 16, 2012 8:23:20 PM EST]     InvestorsLive had it broke under the top line and held I would have added into the short

[Jan 16, 2012 8:23:23 PM EST]     InvestorsLive anticipating the cracking of the lower line

[Jan 16, 2012 8:23:59 PM EST]     cam        do you set up stop-short orders below the support 1 point ? or take limit-shorts once it breaks and you like the action ?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:24:17 PM EST]     InvestorsLive stop short orders?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:24:33 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I anticipate the fade, wish a risk being prior highs

[Jan 16, 2012 8:25:12 PM EST]     InvestorsLive meaning I’m ok with the risk off the highs, if it re-test the highs and holds I’ll be out – I set my risk based off that – if that’s 1000 shares for u or 5000 shares … risking .30-40 cents

[Jan 16, 2012 8:25:20 PM EST]     Laura wish =with

[Jan 16, 2012 8:25:21 PM EST]     InvestorsLive trade your plan, your size, your risk

[Jan 16, 2012 8:25:31 PM EST]     InvestorsLive with *

[Jan 16, 2012 8:25:32 PM EST]     InvestorsLive yes

[Jan 16, 2012 8:26:16 PM EST]     InvestorsLive any questions related to this before I move on?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:26:30 PM EST]     Laura I think as far as stops, Nate uses mental stops like we do. I do use hard stops if I am AFK for any amount of time.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:26:41 PM EST]     InvestorsLive Yep

[Jan 16, 2012 8:27:00 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I let things test, if I say my risk is .15 mental that means it’s .15ish

[Jan 16, 2012 8:27:08 PM EST]     Laura Even 5 minutes on some tickers I’ll put in a hard stop.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:27:09 PM EST]     InvestorsLive and at .15 if I’m down I’ll see what is SPY doing?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:27:24 PM EST]     tradernyc            Il on a stock that has been beat down by earnings or any other thing do you suggest playing r/g on those as well or not so much?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:27:29 PM EST]     InvestorsLive like ZNGA Friday, my risk being .15 ish… it dipped .20 cents and ran back to HODs and made more highs

[Jan 16, 2012 8:27:43 PM EST]     cam        what i meant to ask, is do you have a short order waiting under that first support line, so if price dips, you get executed ?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:27:57 PM EST]     cam        or do you wait for it to dip, watch for rejection, and take the short if you like the subsequent action

[Jan 16, 2012 8:27:59 PM EST]     InvestorsLive tradernyc- if the stock is in play then it’s game for a r/g g/r type move

[Jan 16, 2012 8:28:13 PM EST]     tradernyc            thanks

[Jan 16, 2012 8:28:20 PM EST]     InvestorsLive if it hasn’t been in play then no reason to be ineterested

[Jan 16, 2012 8:28:23 PM EST]     InvestorsLive earnings or no

[Jan 16, 2012 8:28:24 PM EST]     InvestorsLive not

[Jan 16, 2012 8:28:37 PM EST]     InvestorsLive cam – again I ANTICIPATE the break of it many times

[Jan 16, 2012 8:28:45 PM EST]     Laura BTW, that’s the whole point of the pre lists. Finding stocks in play.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:28:48 PM EST]     InvestorsLive keyword ANTICIPATE

[Jan 16, 2012 8:29:03 PM EST]     Csegovia02         the pre lists and scans right?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:29:06 PM EST]     InvestorsLive that does not mean wait for it to break w/ a short order ready to short

[Jan 16, 2012 8:29:13 PM EST]     InvestorsLive it means anticipate the break

[Jan 16, 2012 8:29:16 PM EST]     InvestorsLive ie: short before

[Jan 16, 2012 8:29:18 PM EST]     SuperSev             His question is do u put in an order at a specific price below the market to short and and get triggered that way…..or put in the order manually

[Jan 16, 2012 8:29:27 PM EST]     Laura yes, Cseg, all

[Jan 16, 2012 8:29:43 PM EST]     cam        cool i understand, thanks

[Jan 16, 2012 8:30:07 PM EST]     Laura You want to do manually to avoid fees

[Jan 16, 2012 8:30:27 PM EST]     InvestorsLive If you have a problem not getting filled or unfamiliar with limit orders you can always add a few cents down or up on the limit order, but if you’re trading Nasdaq it’s not very hard to get a fill if you see it on your screen it’s pretty instant

[Jan 16, 2012 8:30:35 PM EST]     Laura Not with all brokers, but in general

[Jan 16, 2012 8:31:12 PM EST]     tradernyc            Il how many times do you let something test before going in?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:32:05 PM EST]     InvestorsLive wait for a set up …

[Jan 16, 2012 8:32:12 PM EST]     InvestorsLive lower high, reason to trade… no number

[Jan 16, 2012 8:32:24 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: Parabolic short: Do you shorten it into the parabolic or after? Fade what is this after it breaks down?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:32:28 PM EST]     SuperSev             So its more of a ‘feeling’ thing for u?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:32:42 PM EST]     InvestorsLive no it’s related to any of the set ups I cover

[Jan 16, 2012 8:32:46 PM EST]     InvestorsLive if it sets up I take the trade

[Jan 16, 2012 8:32:52 PM EST]     InvestorsLive lower high, failed… fade off …

[Jan 16, 2012 8:33:03 PM EST]     InvestorsLive approaching the test of prior support

[Jan 16, 2012 8:33:08 PM EST]     InvestorsLive if I’m ok w/ risk vs. reward I take it

[Jan 16, 2012 8:33:11 PM EST]     InvestorsLive thats what it comes down to

[Jan 16, 2012 8:33:31 PM EST]     SuperSev             How do u deal with fake-outs that dont break down or break out?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:33:39 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I respect my plan

[Jan 16, 2012 8:33:40 PM EST]     SuperSev             guess that was the question

[Jan 16, 2012 8:34:01 PM EST]     tradernyc            He knew his risk before he went in.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:34:02 PM EST]     InvestorsLive just like I said on REE – I took the loss

[Jan 16, 2012 8:34:05 PM EST]     InvestorsLive it failed to break

[Jan 16, 2012 8:34:23 PM EST]     TGJN7   You were a day early

[Jan 16, 2012 8:34:27 PM EST]     SuperSev             ok perfect

[Jan 16, 2012 8:34:36 PM EST]     InvestorsLive Day early and then we nailed it the following morning

[Jan 16, 2012 8:34:43 PM EST]     TGJN7   yep

[Jan 16, 2012 8:34:49 PM EST]     tazzie    when you say you are risking .15ish, is that usually a % of the stock? if yes, what %?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:35:02 PM EST]     InvestorsLive no I don’t risk a % I base it off the risk/reward

[Jan 16, 2012 8:35:05 PM EST]     Laura I’ve stopped out with small losses a thousand times and then it does it the next day. Part of the game.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:35:09 PM EST]     InvestorsLive .15 means .15/share

[Jan 16, 2012 8:35:13 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I dont pay attention to $$ in the market

[Jan 16, 2012 8:35:21 PM EST]     InvestorsLive it doesn’t matter my risk is the game plan going in

[Jan 16, 2012 8:35:46 PM EST]     tazzie    I guess I meant is it a % lost of your investment?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:35:55 PM EST]     TGJN7   Of course, as everyone knows, even something that looks good CAN reverse irrationally, otherwise you would be buying a CD and not trading.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:36:03 PM EST]     InvestorsLive tazzie no .15 means .15/share

[Jan 16, 2012 8:36:14 PM EST]     SuperSev             lol TGJ

[Jan 16, 2012 8:36:25 PM EST]     InvestorsLive also on that same note re: stop loss

[Jan 16, 2012 8:36:31 PM EST]     InvestorsLive many times when I state .15/share over/under thinking it pulls back to .50

[Jan 16, 2012 8:36:38 PM EST]     InvestorsLive and look for the perk off it … to add

[Jan 16, 2012 8:36:42 PM EST]     InvestorsLive ie: ZNGA on Friday

[Jan 16, 2012 8:37:18 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I stated I’m chasing a bit since I think a big move is coming so don’t want to miss, thinking over/under .50 and perk off that for add .. r/r .15 ish

[Jan 16, 2012 8:37:58 PM EST]     InvestorsLive so I basically say I’m long .60 or whatever it was and then at .45 over/under .50 needs to test and then if it perks I’ll add if it doesn’t I’ll stop

[Jan 16, 2012 8:38:13 PM EST]     InvestorsLive but everyone PMs “is it a sell ….” etc … please read da game plan b4 following a trade

[Jan 16, 2012 8:38:26 PM EST]     InvestorsLive too many times people don’t read and just blindly do what the want, you won’t last

[Jan 16, 2012 8:38:37 PM EST]     InvestorsLive anyway – movin gon

[Jan 16, 2012 8:38:41 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: Parabolic short: Do you shorten it into the parabolic or after? Fade what is this after it breaks down?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:38:50 PM EST]     InvestorsLive A parabolic short in my eyes is a short into the parabolic, if it’s after it’s already pulled back. I’m never full size into a parabolic and it’s not suggested for new members (this type of trade). It’s a quick trade, trigger finger ready in partial size with known risk that hey… it’s popped X amount but you won’t be out of business if it moves that same amount per share again. Does it always work? No, does it often work? Yes. I like those odds – keep in mind I don’t short random parabolic I short parabolic on over extended charts

[Jan 16, 2012 8:40:33 PM EST]     InvestorsLive Over extended charts: https://www.investorsunderground.com/img/UQQYTWAVKX.png https://www.investorsunderground.com/img/VQNXULIQZC.png https://www.investorsunderground.com/img/TOMEBGTTRA.png http://www.investorsunderground.com/img/KIQWPSPZPG.png

[Jan 16, 2012 8:41:36 PM EST]     InvestorsLive The point here is

[Jan 16, 2012 8:41:42 PM EST]     InvestorsLive like I said earlier

[Jan 16, 2012 8:41:45 PM EST]     InvestorsLive profit taking is normal

[Jan 16, 2012 8:41:57 PM EST]     InvestorsLive if a stock is up huge, and then goes parabolic after already being up huge

[Jan 16, 2012 8:42:08 PM EST]     InvestorsLive there is a good chance it’s also going to re-trace quickly

[Jan 16, 2012 8:42:18 PM EST]     TGJN7   Daily chart over extension, not up 100% or more in a few days, but like 10+% over 3-5 days?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:42:36 PM EST]     InvestorsLive Always? will it always come right back on a parabolic – PANL ?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:42:39 PM EST]     InvestorsLive no .. not always

[Jan 16, 2012 8:42:45 PM EST]     InvestorsLive sometimes you get PANL’d

[Jan 16, 2012 8:43:01 PM EST]     InvestorsLive that was a joke from months motnhs back

[Jan 16, 2012 8:43:03 PM EST]     Laura lol

[Jan 16, 2012 8:43:07 PM EST]     InvestorsLive huge pop, and then kept going all day

[Jan 16, 2012 8:43:18 PM EST]     Laura sounds like paddled from grade school Nate

[Jan 16, 2012 8:43:19 PM EST]     InvestorsLive kept warning chat STICK TO THE PLAN USE A STOP

[Jan 16, 2012 8:43:22 PM EST]     InvestorsLive this is going higher etc etc

[Jan 16, 2012 8:43:31 PM EST]     InvestorsLive and man some people got ran over thinking that it had to go down

[Jan 16, 2012 8:43:40 PM EST]     InvestorsLive so I coined that getting PANL’d

[Jan 16, 2012 8:44:00 PM EST]     InvestorsLive point is, 9 outta 10 times they are great – but that 1 time it’s a PANL and keeps going .. WELL that’s where your rules come in

[Jan 16, 2012 8:44:06 PM EST]     InvestorsLive either take the loss or get burned, period

[Jan 16, 2012 8:45:19 PM EST]     MilesJStoner      guys how do I log into the seminar?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:45:32 PM EST]     Laura oh boy

[Jan 16, 2012 8:45:41 PM EST]     rude1    alt+f4

[Jan 16, 2012 8:45:43 PM EST]     tradernyc            Laura gag him

[Jan 16, 2012 8:45:56 PM EST]     Laura might gag you instead 🙂

[Jan 16, 2012 8:46:10 PM EST]     tradernyc            ok

[Jan 16, 2012 8:46:50 PM EST]     InvestorsLive Also

[Jan 16, 2012 8:46:51 PM EST]     Laura j/k you

[Jan 16, 2012 8:46:52 PM EST]     InvestorsLive parabolic charts

[Jan 16, 2012 8:46:53 PM EST]     InvestorsLive Trade but be careful on WTW: https://www.investorsunderground.com/img/DUNYUYPBWR.png notice the consolidation.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:47:07 PM EST]     InvestorsLive take note of the consolidation

[Jan 16, 2012 8:47:14 PM EST]     SuperSev             that red candle is consolidaiton?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:47:23 PM EST]     InvestorsLive the point I wanted to make here is … if you’re short a big chart

[Jan 16, 2012 8:47:29 PM EST]     InvestorsLive and you see it begins to consolidate like this ..

[Jan 16, 2012 8:47:35 PM EST]     InvestorsLive holding in a tight trend after a huge move

[Jan 16, 2012 8:47:39 PM EST]     InvestorsLive there is a good chance it’s going higher

[Jan 16, 2012 8:47:48 PM EST]     InvestorsLive it’s ok to be short but just get the fact that this is a trade

[Jan 16, 2012 8:47:54 PM EST]     InvestorsLive not a long term thing, it does not HAVE to go down

[Jan 16, 2012 8:48:05 PM EST]     SuperSev             Nate – the last candle is consolidation cuz its so small?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:48:16 PM EST]     InvestorsLive the last 2 days

[Jan 16, 2012 8:48:19 PM EST]     InvestorsLive afte the move

[Jan 16, 2012 8:48:23 PM EST]     InvestorsLive it pulled back u can see the wick

[Jan 16, 2012 8:48:25 PM EST]     InvestorsLive closed higher

[Jan 16, 2012 8:48:26 PM EST]     SuperSev             ok

[Jan 16, 2012 8:48:31 PM EST]     InvestorsLive pulled back again .. higher etc

[Jan 16, 2012 8:48:34 PM EST]     Laura Nate makes a good point, 52 week highs frequently lead to more 52 week highs

[Jan 16, 2012 8:49:07 PM EST]     Laura and of course vice versa

[Jan 16, 2012 8:49:12 PM EST]     InvestorsLive yep

[Jan 16, 2012 8:49:24 PM EST]     InvestorsLive point is heck it may keep going, it may pull back but I’m a trader

[Jan 16, 2012 8:49:28 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I don’t care more than today

[Jan 16, 2012 8:49:30 PM EST]     TGJN7   The red session typically on smaller volume?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:49:35 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I’m here to make $$ today and not what it COULD do

[Jan 16, 2012 8:49:47 PM EST]     InvestorsLive many times I may take a loss and be right in a day or 2

[Jan 16, 2012 8:49:52 PM EST]     InvestorsLive but that’s not what kind of trader I am

[Jan 16, 2012 8:49:58 PM EST]     Laura same here

[Jan 16, 2012 8:50:07 PM EST]     InvestorsLive TGJN7 – that’s not the point red/green doesn’t matter point is the consolidation after the big candles

[Jan 16, 2012 8:50:14 PM EST]     Laura take a small loss, then see a big gain I could have had if held

[Jan 16, 2012 8:50:20 PM EST]     Laura but the risk not worth it

[Jan 16, 2012 8:51:04 PM EST]     TGJN7   Not referring to that, meant the daily chart red candle in WTW off consolidation as a possible indication it might head higher.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:51:48 PM EST]     InvestorsLive yea red candle greenc andle

[Jan 16, 2012 8:51:50 PM EST]     InvestorsLive candle

[Jan 16, 2012 8:51:53 PM EST]     InvestorsLive that’s not the point I’m saying

[Jan 16, 2012 8:52:40 PM EST]     InvestorsLive the point is the big wicks followed by the pull back (red/green plays we play and HODs) and smaller daily range

[Jan 16, 2012 8:53:16 PM EST]     InvestorsLive setting up sub $70 good chance it wants to test that – (next mental point)

[Jan 16, 2012 8:53:18 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: I see that a lot of times you keep mentioning accumulation scan lately. I know you spoke about it in past but i don’t get when to buy it. Why don’t you tell us your entries on it.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:53:28 PM EST]     InvestorsLive My accumulation scans are OTC based – they are stocks that are under accumulation or at least meet the parameters set for on my equity feed scan (if unfamiliar with my settings just view the EquityFeed seminar listed on the new member page). OTC stocks are not for those who are unfamiliar with them, it’s a great way to lose your shirt. Many people don’t read what I say in chat and if I start posting my entries in these OTCs (this is not a cut to anyone in chat) but many in chat would end up holding and not taking profits as I do and just waiting it out since it “has to bounce” just like POWT and people in chat were saying “well it’s down huge, it has to bounce” .. .no it doesn’t. NASDAQs if you sit around they usually don’t go down 90% and if you wait long enough there’s a slim chance you get lucky and get out even again.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:54:01 PM EST]     InvestorsLive If you’re trading OTCs that’s great, if you have to wait for me to buy them or tell you when to buy – you should not be trading them. I look for the same concepts I go over for Nasdaqs, gearing/perking consolidation red to green etc. I also trade big washouts like NSRS (which I do post live) but stocks on accumulation scan that if I post can move the stock – not my type of strategy in the chat. Watch them, watch the action and over time you’ll find yourself ready for the trade.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:54:33 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I post trades that show up on the scan that are liquid enough to get in and out, are showing signs that it semi interesting and suggesting possible promotion and/or front run for something, and with that I look for entry off dips. Most times I don’t trade OTCs unless they have a big solid trend like I noted ATRN did (on the way up) – where they trade all day like a NASDAQ and you can get in and out without an issue.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:55:22 PM EST]     InvestorsLive over the past week and a half literally – the OTC market has completely changed it’s come back in full force so I may start playing more OTCs again – after all they are my favorites

[Jan 16, 2012 8:56:01 PM EST]     InvestorsLive one more question related then we can open up for the 2 together

[Jan 16, 2012 8:56:06 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: STEV was a beautiful play. The days running up to Friday were nice too. If we want to play some of the accumulation scans early (so we have an average w/padding) should we just size in small, sell a little, rebuy on dips? Can you go over the STEV chart and tell how you would have played it longer range, not just Friday.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:56:13 PM EST]     InvestorsLive It’s just like SAGE or TFER and STEV. If you’re accumulating you’re accumulating and buying dips and selling pops maybe keep a core to be patient. SAGE right now for example has been showing under accumulation, does that mean buy? no … does it mean you can accumulate it? Sure, pull it up … .50s area support accumulating as close to .50s with a risk at .45 makes sense on the daily chart right? https://www.investorsunderground.com/img/SRHKSKDVNY.png this is the stuff I look for on accumulation scan. What’s my risk? Where does it make it a good accumulation point? STEV was no different.

[Jan 16, 2012 8:57:02 PM EST]     InvestorsLive any questions related to these 2 questions?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:58:15 PM EST]     MilesJStoner      http://www.investorsunderground.com/2010/02/28/equityfeed-q-stocks-pull-backs-bounces-seminar/ I think thats IL’s equity feed scan, just tryna help

[Jan 16, 2012 8:58:18 PM EST]     tradernyc            IL but most times on these charts are choppy and not so clear like STEV

[Jan 16, 2012 8:58:35 PM EST]     InvestorsLive Right, that’s why I posted the SAGE example

[Jan 16, 2012 8:58:49 PM EST]     tradernyc            *SAGE sorry

[Jan 16, 2012 8:59:19 PM EST]     tradernyc            So can I infer that most accumulation scan plays should be when charts are clearer?

[Jan 16, 2012 8:59:53 PM EST]     InvestorsLive If that’s what you’d like to do

[Jan 16, 2012 8:59:59 PM EST]     InvestorsLive might miss out on a lot of great plays

[Jan 16, 2012 9:00:17 PM EST]     InvestorsLive but it comes with time, it’s not something to get on day 1 and not something there is an answer to

[Jan 16, 2012 9:00:20 PM EST]     MilesJStoner      sometimes those accumulation scans turn out to to huge

[Jan 16, 2012 9:00:26 PM EST]     InvestorsLive over time you learn how they trade, players in the box etc

[Jan 16, 2012 9:00:27 PM EST]     tradernyc            Yea i dont know how to play acc scans I buy and get stuck.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:00:46 PM EST]     InvestorsLive Any further questions related guys?

[Jan 16, 2012 9:00:51 PM EST]     InvestorsLive before moving on to next

[Jan 16, 2012 9:01:00 PM EST]     MilesJStoner      small accumulation on dips, am I right

[Jan 16, 2012 9:01:31 PM EST]     InvestorsLive if it makes sense – and they hold trend

[Jan 16, 2012 9:01:37 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: Regarding RENN how did you anticipate that it was going to do what it did. Why did you have the guts to keep it overnight?

[Jan 16, 2012 9:01:42 PM EST]     InvestorsLive We had been talking about this for a long time in chat – the chart has been beat and yet to bounce – was a former runner and kept making a higher low and not really breaking down. Closed at $3.85 and as I always say on every seminar think about it psychologically … what are people thinking if they are buying at $3.85? What if it’s at $9.90 … what if it’s .0085 or .009 what are people buying for? The next psychological breakout point and/or magnet. $4 was a clear magnet on RENN we had great profits so I decided to risk it over night for the trade – used the house money to give it a chance – wasn’t really a gutsy thing.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:02:25 PM EST]     InvestorsLive during the day I had mentioned that it was the strongest it had been, all dips were getting bought

[Jan 16, 2012 9:02:35 PM EST]     InvestorsLive and every dip was not lasting very long only to be followed by a new HOD

[Jan 16, 2012 9:02:47 PM EST]     InvestorsLive so sure, if the market gapped down it could have gapped down

[Jan 16, 2012 9:02:56 PM EST]     InvestorsLive but we got a nice gap up on markets and a $4+ open as expected

[Jan 16, 2012 9:03:02 PM EST]     InvestorsLive worked out took profits and bang, Next.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:03:25 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: Where can I check float?

[Jan 16, 2012 9:03:31 PM EST]     InvestorsLive Float you can click on Yahoo key statistics if you really need to know it. Not much you can do with that information – you can tell if it’s low float or not just by the way it’s trading like I had showed last time the difference between something like MSFT and LIVE: http://www.investorsunderground.com/img/UOULXGFZPP.png

[Jan 16, 2012 9:04:12 PM EST]     InvestorsLive any questions related?

[Jan 16, 2012 9:04:13 PM EST]     Laura One thing to note too about float, the longer you trade, the more tickers you know and you KNOW which are low float.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:04:26 PM EST]     InvestorsLive yep

[Jan 16, 2012 9:04:29 PM EST]     InvestorsLive good point

[Jan 16, 2012 9:04:53 PM EST]     InvestorsLive like LIVE FPP ROYL we all know

[Jan 16, 2012 9:04:59 PM EST]     InvestorsLive but now ROYL getting a bit top heavy w/ the raises

[Jan 16, 2012 9:05:28 PM EST]     InvestorsLive any questions related before moving on

[Jan 16, 2012 9:05:41 PM EST]     cam        nate, float related . . do you know of any sites or services where you can view up to date short float info ?

[Jan 16, 2012 9:05:50 PM EST]     Laura Scottrade shows shares OS in quote box so you can kinda guess at float from that.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:06:11 PM EST]     InvestorsLive cam – no and again nothing like that will help you trade, waste of time

[Jan 16, 2012 9:06:30 PM EST]     InvestorsLive not being mean, just trying to save you from wasting your time

[Jan 16, 2012 9:07:19 PM EST]     TGJN7   Just clicking on google finance will give you float specs usually, such as on LIVE, just 2.34M shares.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:07:34 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: Mailers. I understand this is a type of pump. My questions are, how do you know they’re promos? from the recent action, or did you or a friend receive a hard mailer? Which ones do you buy? if you’re able to ID them, is there a hard mailer promo group similar to crazy penny or pennypic?

[Jan 16, 2012 9:07:47 PM EST]     InvestorsLive Answer: No, no ‘group’ they are always changing names sometimes using the same ones … but only way to confirm hard mailers is to receive one or know someone who has. Otherwise you could look at Paid Mailer Stocks message board where they do a good job of posting recent mailers: http://www.siliconinvestor.com/subject.aspx?subjectid=56743 You can buy any you feel comfortable with just like the ones we’ve seen .. TFER and STEV they usually start out just as they have and once the volume starts up you see people say they are receiving a mailer. That’s why I love my accumulation scan – you saw how early we picked up TFER and STEV before any REAL volume even hit (obviously liquid enough to be on scan though).

[Jan 16, 2012 9:08:26 PM EST]     InvestorsLive any questions related?

[Jan 16, 2012 9:09:00 PM EST]     Breadwinner      nope. you answered it.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:09:10 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: When I tell people I want to trade they discouraging me and tell me that I am crazy and a gambler and that most traders lose lots $ that is what they say to me. How do I respond to these people they are really discouraging me and makes me think twice. I see you are good at it but maybe you are special and one who made it. what do I answer back to them?

[Jan 16, 2012 9:09:18 PM EST]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: Tell them to f*ck off

[Jan 16, 2012 9:09:23 PM EST]     Rainmaker          hahahaha

[Jan 16, 2012 9:09:25 PM EST]     Rainmaker          i couldnt post that

[Jan 16, 2012 9:09:26 PM EST]     tradernyc            lmao

[Jan 16, 2012 9:09:30 PM EST]     Laura lolol

[Jan 16, 2012 9:09:33 PM EST]     Rainmaker          HATERS

[Jan 16, 2012 9:10:03 PM EST]     shrudeinvesta   BoilerRoom Movie answer is best

[Jan 16, 2012 9:10:27 PM EST]     InvestorsLive point is

[Jan 16, 2012 9:10:34 PM EST]     InvestorsLive they are right, you will if you don’t follow your rules

[Jan 16, 2012 9:10:44 PM EST]     InvestorsLive so be sure to have a plan

[Jan 16, 2012 9:10:45 PM EST]     InvestorsLive and follow it

[Jan 16, 2012 9:10:49 PM EST]     InvestorsLive otherwise join the ranks of the 90%

[Jan 16, 2012 9:11:07 PM EST]     tradernyc            So IL those 90% dont have a plan?

[Jan 16, 2012 9:11:20 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I get PMs during days “I shorted XYZ at X price, now I’m down $3k – what do I do?”

[Jan 16, 2012 9:11:37 PM EST]     InvestorsLive well what was the plan? “Stop out at X price” “-300”

[Jan 16, 2012 9:11:40 PM EST]     InvestorsLive ok why u still in?

[Jan 16, 2012 9:11:55 PM EST]     tradernyc            Yes I PMed u when i lost 2500 on ATHN ur right had no plan tried to catch a knife

[Jan 16, 2012 9:12:02 PM EST]     InvestorsLive sure we all screw up, I do many times but the ability to take losses will keep you in the game

[Jan 16, 2012 9:12:18 PM EST]     InvestorsLive tradernyc – I dont know ask those 90% if you need the answer

[Jan 16, 2012 9:12:24 PM EST]     tradernyc            taking a loss is SO hard.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:12:39 PM EST]     tradernyc            no i agre Il.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:12:40 PM EST]     InvestorsLive any questions related guys?

[Jan 16, 2012 9:12:42 PM EST]     TGJN7   I think its like 2% of the account balance, calculated in advance, peeps cannot cut losses and hold and hope, and lose their butts.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:13:47 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I don’t know what that means

[Jan 16, 2012 9:14:00 PM EST]     InvestorsLive but sure

[Jan 16, 2012 9:14:07 PM EST]     InvestorsLive if u don’t cut your losses you’ll lose your butt

[Jan 16, 2012 9:14:23 PM EST]     InvestorsLive the biggest thing is people focus on who made what, and % gainers and trying to make the most

[Jan 16, 2012 9:14:26 PM EST]     InvestorsLive but the fact is

[Jan 16, 2012 9:14:30 PM EST]     InvestorsLive no one focuses on the losses

[Jan 16, 2012 9:14:35 PM EST]     InvestorsLive and keeping them to a minimum

[Jan 16, 2012 9:14:46 PM EST]     InvestorsLive you can have lots of gainers but it’s only 1 loser that can wipe out 10 winners

[Jan 16, 2012 9:15:08 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: What price does NSRS have to make it to in order for it to be a ‘success’ for crazypenny & pennypic. Started at what? around .17 and highest it went was .62ish ? Is that successful for both newsletters both pumping out emails daily or it needs to be 1.00-1.50+

[Jan 16, 2012 9:15:21 PM EST]     TGJN7   U have 25K, you cannot lose more than 2% of it on any one trade (common trading book advice) or 500, etc.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:15:21 PM EST]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: For those unfamiliar this question relates to how I trade pumps confidently. For example, if the last stock was a dud I’m not going to commit serious capital to the trade since I’m unsure how traders will react. If the newsletter is coming off a huge win (ie: AMWI) then OBVIOUSLY … .12 to $1.40 I’m jumping in head over heels (yes risky and not recommended) onto the next one (with $$ I can lose 100% of and not change my lifestyle). So you tell me – is .16 to .62 good? If the answer is a yes, then I’m going to be salivating for the next as soon as NSRS starts to fade off into the wind and we’ve gone a few days with no emails.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:16:23 PM EST]     InvestorsLive TGJN I would focus on the trade at hand vs. a % of an account – if you try to align % of an account with a trade you’re going to end up missing out on an opportunity had you just focused on the risk at hand and played accordingly

[Jan 16, 2012 9:16:26 PM EST]     SuperSev             good explanation IL…i personally didnt get how u made that decision on which to play

[Jan 16, 2012 9:16:51 PM EST]     InvestorsLive yep, that’s just short version – same thing we discussed last week

[Jan 16, 2012 9:17:04 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: There are so many great alerts during each day lately, I find I get distracted and am missing (not focusing) on opportunities. It is a crazy problem to have but there are so many options. I still need to learn a lot so want to check out as much as I can but lately I can’t keep up.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:17:14 PM EST]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: Many times I have the same issues when there is a lot going on. But, I counteract it … how? Look at scan tonight right at the top. I’m familiar with all of the charts but I’m not going to nail them all. Many times at 9:28AM what do I remind chat? Focus, relax, let trades set up you do not need to trade in the first 5-10 minutes. Sure, if I see an opportunity I may take it but there are so many opportunities right now let the trade come to you, let it set up. You’ll find yourself trading a lot better. Focus on a GOOD trade and profits follow. Focus on a forced random trade at open or during the day and well… face the consequences.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:18:28 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: What criteria do you use for your daily scans?

[Jan 16, 2012 9:18:36 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I went over this last seminar – finviz http://finviz.com/screener.ashx?v=311&f=ta_averagetruerange_o0.25,ta_change_u,ta_changeopen_u,ta_pattern_horizontal,ta_perf_dup,ta_perf2_d5o,ta_volatility_wo5&ft=3&ta=0&o=-volume Also use EquityFeed listed under the new member page equityfeed seminar, as well as HOD list from SpeedTrader.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:18:59 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: What resources do you recommend for someone with moderate experience trading to learn more about the best indicators to use and how to read charts?

[Jan 16, 2012 9:19:01 PM EST]     InvestorsLive I’ve heard Brian Shannons book is good but free stuff that will help you is simply googling and getting an understanding of basic technical analysis support and resistance.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:19:23 PM EST]     tradernyc            i own it. its great

[Jan 16, 2012 9:19:24 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: I held COIN o/n because it was closing at/near hod. I ended up giving back my profit by not seeing that they were going to dilute. I did notice on level 2 they were not bidding up in the AM. Should this have been my signal to get out ASAP?

[Jan 16, 2012 9:19:26 PM EST]     InvestorsLive ANSWER: I’m not sure what you mean by “I did not see that they were going to dilute” profit taking is not dilution, it’s profit taking. My plan was to take profits in the AM on a gap, if it doesn’t gap there is no point holding it either get out and hope for the washout (that I had hoped on scan the night before). Your plan should have been stick to the plan. You went away from the plan and instead tuned a good trade into a less good trade. At least still profitable I’m assuming giving it was .003-.004 entry the day before.

[Jan 16, 2012 9:20:53 PM EST]     InvestorsLive QUESTION: I really really want to leave a review on Investimonials for Investors Underground and your @InvestorsLive handle for twitter but can’t find the links, can you send them to me?
