CADC: What a mess today! Screwed this one up pretty royally lol – I didn’t do any damage or use any size/get in trouble, but I just traded it like an ass, trying to scalp the front side, wasn’t patient, the whole 9 yards. Ended up eating a loss that I 100% deserved. Anyhoo – interesting EOD ramp. Well…not interesting, makes complete sense when a 1.5M float stock that everyone is short nears the end of the day – it’s a race who can cover the fastest, so everyone tripped over each other to get out into close. I’m guessing so few wanted to swing this because of the way smallcaps have been behaving the past week or two. There’s been a lot of “zombie” stocks that ramp back after they look dead, and a lot of names moving in permarket and after hours, so most didn’t want to deal with that, is my assumption. Will be watching to see what tomorrow looks like, but if they ramp it again in pre and we bust thru todays highs just over 9ish, I think we’re in for a giant mess again. So not gonna make a call here, it’s going to depend entirely on what the premarket action looks like. If it’s weak in pre – I’ll be watching pops to short out of the gate using either the premarket highs, or that low 9s area from today as a risk – remains to be seen.
MRDN: Speaking of “zombie” stocks – this one looked good-n-dead around 11am today then slowly churned it’s way back up ending in a huge move through VWAP, which then got sold immediately back off and all could breath a sigh of relief….or could they? NOPE! It came back AGAIN at end of day, and then AGAIN after hours more ramp. This market is just insane lol, nothing wants to die. We’re getting a taste of the perennial Thanksgiving craziness a little early I guess. Will be looking to short pops here tomorrow with a risk off 3.50-80 area (Daily resistance).
LEDS: Did I mention we’ve been having some Zombie stocks of late? I think I did. Well…this one was COMPLETELY dead today…then BAM noon rolls around and we just go parabolic out of nowhere 2 bucks higher. I mean…what do you even say lol. I certainly don’t have answers, all you can do is laugh. And then this ramp proceeded to sell off immediately after. And once again, it looks to be “dead”…but WHO knows in this environment. So this seems like a good candidate to short pops tomorrow morning, but just make sure you’re respecting it if the early ramps end up holding, because as we’ve seen lately, NOTHING has gone too far, and NOTHING is ever dead. This is not “normal” trading by any means, so don’t try to write all this stuff down and adapt to it – it will be gone and back to normal by the time you wrap your head around it all. Just stay safe, use smaller size than usual, and don’t fight with ANYTHING. That should keep you in good shape. So again, shorting pops here if it goes out of the gate tomorrow, most likely with a risk on 8.
XNET: Just…”WOW” here today. But I should really stop being surprised, as there’s “wow”s all over the place. This was an earnings play, they released “bad” ER this morning of a significant increase in their bottom line losses. But if you read the fine print – they let you know that the extra losses were due to a one-time cost, accelerated depreciation of their servers or something – but basically they said it wouldn’t happen again. So if you ask me, that one comment of the loss being a one-time thing turned the ER report from bad into…..”not, bad”? Lol not sure how to describe it, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as everyone who loaded up short into earnings was expecting. So then everyone expecting a horrible report had to bail, and what we saw today was most likely a massive short squeeze + momo scalpers. I expect this to give back a solid chunk of today’s gains in the coming sessions. Won’t jump in early – but eyes on it. Backwatch to short pops once failed follow thru and weakness kicks in.
If you’re not an IU member and would like to become one, there’s still a sale going on here, along with the webinar sale posted at the top. I highly recommend getting the DVDs – they truly are where I learned most of what I know, and the most significant piece of education I was able to draw from early on in my trading career. If you’ve read my blog or know anything about me, you know I’m not a bullshitter – so I really mean that about Nate’s DVDs. They helped me tremendously. Also If you’d prefer a shorter time commitment to see if you like IU, you can go monthly as well here.Shoot me a PM anytime in chat (DGTrading101 is my IU handle) and I’m happy to discuss trade ideas with you.
See you out there!
