[Feb 26, 2012 8:05:10 PM EST]    InvestorsLive so anyway – moving on – same as always

[Feb 26, 2012 8:05:11 PM EST]    splendores         but are not simple

[Feb 26, 2012 8:05:46 PM EST]    InvestorsLive we’ll start with a few things I wanted to cover ahead of time, stuff I see happening in chat that scares me

[Feb 26, 2012 8:05:51 PM EST]    InvestorsLive then we’ll move to questions you guys sent in

[Feb 26, 2012 8:06:18 PM EST]    InvestorsLive for the new members the way we do this is by questions – we stay on subject for purpose of the logs, don’t ask me randomly what I think about MSFT when I’m answering a question

[Feb 26, 2012 8:06:31 PM EST]    InvestorsLive we’ll go Q by Q and topic by topic and then open it up

[Feb 26, 2012 8:06:40 PM EST]    InvestorsLive sound good?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:06:54 PM EST]    tradernyc            y

[Feb 26, 2012 8:06:57 PM EST]    Vegita   yes

[Feb 26, 2012 8:06:59 PM EST]    rwaters254         Lets get it on

[Feb 26, 2012 8:07:02 PM EST]    cam        ::up

[Feb 26, 2012 8:07:32 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Alright so I listed out 4 things I wanted to talk about today

[Feb 26, 2012 8:07:36 PM EST]    himal13                ::up

[Feb 26, 2012 8:07:45 PM EST]    InvestorsLive First thing: OTC GAPPERS

[Feb 26, 2012 8:07:54 PM EST]    InvestorsLive What is a gapper?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:08:03 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Typically a strong close in OTC land has follow through the next morning

[Feb 26, 2012 8:08:12 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and momentum will carry over and open a bit higher than the previous close

[Feb 26, 2012 8:08:31 PM EST]    InvestorsLive NOTE: I said OTCs

[Feb 26, 2012 8:08:40 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Not Nasdaq, I don’t buy Nasdaq for ‘gappers’

[Feb 26, 2012 8:08:58 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Nasdaq is influenced by the market – if the market is gapping up or down they typically will have a strong or weak open

[Feb 26, 2012 8:09:10 PM EST]    InvestorsLive whereas if the market gaps down 150 points, it’s not going to change an OTC

[Feb 26, 2012 8:09:17 PM EST]    InvestorsLive since they are not correlated

[Feb 26, 2012 8:09:30 PM EST]    InvestorsLive so typically I look for a nice chart closing strong 3PM+

[Feb 26, 2012 8:09:44 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I will aim to buy on dips into close and potentially hold over in the AM

[Feb 26, 2012 8:09:49 PM EST]    InvestorsLive the purpose is to make money on the gap

[Feb 26, 2012 8:10:03 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I saw some people in chat who would buy, and just hold it through the morning

[Feb 26, 2012 8:10:12 PM EST]    InvestorsLive it gaps up, holds up there for 5-10 minutes and starts to crack

[Feb 26, 2012 8:10:19 PM EST]    InvestorsLive then red, the drop.. and NEVER take it off

[Feb 26, 2012 8:10:42 PM EST]    InvestorsLive so this was the first thing I noticed with some PMs this week and people asking me (prob not familiar with the OTC seminar on new member page) but guys….

[Feb 26, 2012 8:10:54 PM EST]    InvestorsLive if you’re taking a gapper, you’re looking for AM strength, IF YOU GET IT … TAKE IT

[Feb 26, 2012 8:11:13 PM EST]    InvestorsLive pay yourself, it’s 9:31AM or 9:32AM and you’re up – use that houses money to trade better through the day

[Feb 26, 2012 8:11:31 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Are there any questions related to OTC gappers?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:11:42 PM EST]    yanks080602      AWSR had a strong day last week then gapped down huge, why do you think that was?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:11:44 PM EST]    hulman125          What if it doesn’t gap

[Feb 26, 2012 8:12:06 PM EST]    InvestorsLive on that same note, if they gap up … pull back and start to gear/perk it’s OK to re buy anytime, the point is you wanted it for the gapper not the hold

[Feb 26, 2012 8:12:25 PM EST]    chpjes09              yeah real quick – what’s the best way to get filled on the gap in the AM – should we place a sell order GTC at the close to “get in line” first?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:12:39 PM EST]    InvestorsLive AWSR didn’t have a strong close, I warned like 20 times before close on AWSR but it was quite obvious the reason it went up was due to a newsletter and then over night they said it was an accident – that’s why on AWSR

[Feb 26, 2012 8:12:53 PM EST]    InvestorsLive hulman – if it doesn’t gap just take it off ..

[Feb 26, 2012 8:13:21 PM EST]    e4zyg01ng           If a stock has a strong close, is it likely that it’ll gap down vs gap up?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:13:45 PM EST]    e4zyg01ng           Or usually worst case is neutral at open and we just cover

[Feb 26, 2012 8:13:48 PM EST]    InvestorsLive chpjes09 – no, if you have sells in you just have selling pressure on the stock which won’t aid to a gap, that’s called bid whacking typically I sell on the offer which if liquid enough many times fills better than bid hitting

[Feb 26, 2012 8:14:09 PM EST]    InvestorsLive e4zg01- I just went over this above scroll up

[Feb 26, 2012 8:14:53 PM EST]    InvestorsLive e4zg01 – again: (Feb 26-20:08) InvestorsLive: Typically a strong close in OTC land has follow through the next morning (Feb 26-20:08) InvestorsLive: and momentum will carry over and open a bit higher than the previous close

[Feb 26, 2012 8:15:14 PM EST]    InvestorsLive anything else regarding gappers?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:15:16 PM EST]    Vegita   so basically .. any intended gap play .. whatever happens in the AM .. down / neutral / or up .. take it off .. are there exceptions?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:15:48 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Vegita – I rarely gap stuff, but if I do there is plenty of momentum and volume – so it usually opens at or above

[Feb 26, 2012 8:16:04 PM EST]    InvestorsLive if no follow through momentum take it off while there is still interst and move to the next

[Feb 26, 2012 8:16:44 PM EST]    InvestorsLive So the 2nd thing I wanted to cover is not holding past your ‘pain’ just because i am

[Feb 26, 2012 8:16:53 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I talk to a few people lets say the ATRN trade

[Feb 26, 2012 8:17:09 PM EST]    InvestorsLive told them my plan accumulate dips etc, but instead they decide to just buy and ‘swing’ it without a plan

[Feb 26, 2012 8:17:22 PM EST]    InvestorsLive if your risking $100 … $200 $500 whatever that # is

[Feb 26, 2012 8:17:27 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you need to stick to your plan

[Feb 26, 2012 8:17:38 PM EST]    InvestorsLive if you let the loss get bigger than something you can handle

[Feb 26, 2012 8:17:45 PM EST]    InvestorsLive than it’s going to impact your trading going forward

[Feb 26, 2012 8:18:17 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you need to stick to the plan, I chuckled last week when someone had asked in chat “are we buying XYZ now?” or something like that

[Feb 26, 2012 8:18:37 PM EST]    InvestorsLive this isn’t team trading, we all go in same time we all go out same time …

[Feb 26, 2012 8:19:06 PM EST]    InvestorsLive everyone is a bit differnet, some may sell 1/2 and hold rest longer, some may buy and hold and never sell and other will be in and out in a flash

[Feb 26, 2012 8:19:30 PM EST]    InvestorsLive that’s the beauty of trading liquid stocks – but it comes down to one thing – any trade is a good trade as long as you’re ok with the risk

[Feb 26, 2012 8:19:50 PM EST]    InvestorsLive the main part of trading is knowing what your risk is and when you are WRONG

[Feb 26, 2012 8:20:10 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I let ATRN get against me because I was early, was a bad trade and got lucky

[Feb 26, 2012 8:20:18 PM EST]    InvestorsLive SHLD I let go against me because I was up huge at 9:40AM

[Feb 26, 2012 8:20:40 PM EST]    InvestorsLive stated off small, then hit the parabolic with some size nailed it …. got greedy and got stuck full size on a grind and spike

[Feb 26, 2012 8:20:54 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and instead of taking it off as I suggested to, I got caught and ate sh*t

[Feb 26, 2012 8:21:03 PM EST]    InvestorsLive yes I break rules, yes we’re human it happens but

[Feb 26, 2012 8:21:13 PM EST]    InvestorsLive my point is I see people in chat, and on PM doing it over and over and over again

[Feb 26, 2012 8:21:44 PM EST]    InvestorsLive those with smaller accounts if you’re up and right … pay yourself

[Feb 26, 2012 8:21:52 PM EST]    InvestorsLive who cares where it can or could go, the point is to build your account

[Feb 26, 2012 8:22:15 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I build my account by taking profits over and over – there is always a another trade coming, as long as I keep my losses in check it works

[Feb 26, 2012 8:22:28 PM EST]    InvestorsLive otherwise as you saw you can let one trade take out all your winners if you’re a greedy pig like I was on SHLD

[Feb 26, 2012 8:22:38 PM EST]    InvestorsLive any questions about this?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:22:47 PM EST]    InvestorsLive about stick to your plan going in with a risk, knowing what you want to risk on each trade

[Feb 26, 2012 8:24:10 PM EST]    abhive198           is there an up-side limit you stick to? a certain $ amount that you will take?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:24:16 PM EST]    Vegita   what do you normally think to help you stick to your plan?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:24:33 PM EST]    InvestorsLive abhive – not really but I usually take profits, if I’m up $500-1k real quick I will take it – that’s a lot of coin

[Feb 26, 2012 8:24:45 PM EST]    splendores         I think of my wife giving me %%%% if I lose too much money

[Feb 26, 2012 8:24:49 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and if it happens on a quick spike I will lock in at least 1/2 immediately

[Feb 26, 2012 8:24:54 PM EST]    tradernyc            lol

[Feb 26, 2012 8:24:56 PM EST]    Vegita   lol

[Feb 26, 2012 8:25:03 PM EST]    abhive198           ok thanks

[Feb 26, 2012 8:25:04 PM EST]    amirsalehian      what % do you take profits

[Feb 26, 2012 8:25:35 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Vegita – you don’t need to think, try this .. don’t stick to your plan and watch your cash go to $0, or stick to your plan

[Feb 26, 2012 8:25:46 PM EST]    InvestorsLive amiras – I don’t trade by %s

[Feb 26, 2012 8:25:49 PM EST]    rovingeyes          what’s the typical size of your full position for OTCs?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:26:08 PM EST]    InvestorsLive roving – all relateive to the price action and volume and range

[Feb 26, 2012 8:26:12 PM EST]    InvestorsLive relative*

[Feb 26, 2012 8:26:37 PM EST]    InvestorsLive could be $1k or $50k or $100k depending if it’s a .01 cent stock for fun to a AWSR type bounce nail or a crazypenny type play

[Feb 26, 2012 8:26:50 PM EST]    InvestorsLive all relative to the price action, just like my trading

[Feb 26, 2012 8:26:59 PM EST]    spazztrader        Hey nate.. I know you have talked about this before but what does it mean when you say “mailer” on a particular stock ex LOGL thanks again

[Feb 26, 2012 8:27:06 PM EST]    rovingeyes          can you give a couple of examples on size pls?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:27:11 PM EST]    amirsalehian      you are saying if you are up 500 or 1000 you take profit but how muchar eu invested in the trade?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:27:25 PM EST]    InvestorsLive spazz – mailer – hard mailer physically mailer sent to homes about a stock

[Feb 26, 2012 8:27:34 PM EST]    InvestorsLive roving – you can check profit.ly for sizes on stocks

[Feb 26, 2012 8:27:45 PM EST]    spazztrader        ahh ok thanks Nate

[Feb 26, 2012 8:28:21 PM EST]    InvestorsLive amirsalehian – I don’t pay attention to $ in a trade I pay attention to the risk at hand – the range, gearing/perking where I am buying off vs. prior lows and trade accordingly

[Feb 26, 2012 8:28:46 PM EST]    InvestorsLive just like the seminar for today shows – whether its .10 risk or .30 … and trading .10-.50 range or $1-2 range … position size accordingly

[Feb 26, 2012 8:29:06 PM EST]    InvestorsLive if you are unfamiliar with what I’m talking about I would suggest reviewing the seminar I suggest to read before tonights chat

[Feb 26, 2012 8:30:12 PM EST]    InvestorsLive The next thing I wanted to cover that this week I decided ‘scares’ me with some of the new members and even old was position sizing, full size partial etc and what’s your plan – many times depending on the range I may start into a trade unless its something that’s tighter range and we’ve been waiting for it … and sets up perfectly

[Feb 26, 2012 8:30:24 PM EST]    bigprofit               Nate, so risk $ you are comfortable with is whats important to sizing?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:30:27 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I may state I am in a starter size real small wide stop

[Feb 26, 2012 8:30:43 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and then I see others who just go in and if I PM them, they’re full size

[Feb 26, 2012 8:30:59 PM EST]    InvestorsLive they might freak out about 25 cents move against them or 50 cents

[Feb 26, 2012 8:31:22 PM EST]    InvestorsLive when a starter needs a wide stop – we’re in a wild range of a market you won’t nail a stock every time within a dime range

[Feb 26, 2012 8:31:26 PM EST]    SuperSev             If the range is wider, you go in smaller

[Feb 26, 2012 8:31:27 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you may need to average into the trade

[Feb 26, 2012 8:31:35 PM EST]    SuperSev             thats what nates saying

[Feb 26, 2012 8:31:57 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I repeat myself like 3-4 times b/c I know people have selective reading

[Feb 26, 2012 8:32:02 PM EST]    InvestorsLive which is why I state it many times

[Feb 26, 2012 8:32:05 PM EST]    InvestorsLive in chat

[Feb 26, 2012 8:32:05 PM EST]    NinoNix0n           lol selective reading

[Feb 26, 2012 8:32:09 PM EST]    SuperSev             lol

[Feb 26, 2012 8:32:35 PM EST]    InvestorsLive then I get a PM and say “ah, I’m in here and blah blah” when I had said “You need $1+ range here until it settles and I’ll add in on a fade”

[Feb 26, 2012 8:32:44 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and then it pops .25 cents and I get a panic PM

[Feb 26, 2012 8:32:52 PM EST]    InvestorsLive what gives?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:33:02 PM EST]    InvestorsLive anyway you get my drift we’ve discussed before but just re-going over it

[Feb 26, 2012 8:33:17 PM EST]    t_hoyle                Also you can take the second short investors talks about

[Feb 26, 2012 8:33:26 PM EST]    t_hoyle                wait for the fade

[Feb 26, 2012 8:33:34 PM EST]    yanks080602      whats a starter size.. 1/6th 1/8th position?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:33:48 PM EST]    InvestorsLive usually I split it in 4 or 1/2 depending on range

[Feb 26, 2012 8:33:55 PM EST]    InvestorsLive something liek SHLD prob in 4

[Feb 26, 2012 8:34:00 PM EST]    InvestorsLive something like CEDC prob 2 entries

[Feb 26, 2012 8:34:40 PM EST]    InvestorsLive usually if I take a starter size it’s because I am chasing a move – and I state “slight chase but watch for it to pull and re-test .80s, if it perks off the .80s I’ll add back in and stop low 70s”

[Feb 26, 2012 8:34:51 PM EST]    InvestorsLive that’s usually how I state what my plan is

[Feb 26, 2012 8:35:38 PM EST]    InvestorsLive if you guys are confused during the day my PM is open, no problem PMing me before you take the trade

[Feb 26, 2012 8:35:48 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I’ll tell you what I feel range/risk may be

[Feb 26, 2012 8:36:10 PM EST]    SuperSev             why 2 entries on CEDC…what characteristic makes u do that?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:36:38 PM EST]    InvestorsLive SuperSev the question was what are typical starter sizes – I was just answering that question

[Feb 26, 2012 8:36:44 PM EST]    InvestorsLive something w/ range like SHLD vs. range like CEDC

[Feb 26, 2012 8:37:10 PM EST]    SuperSev             Ya i know,,but cedc is low priced relatively and doesnt have super choppy action

[Feb 26, 2012 8:37:19 PM EST]    SuperSev             Why not all at once

[Feb 26, 2012 8:37:20 PM EST]    splendores         when you said you nailed parabolic on SHLD did you actually take those profits or did you let that one go against you too?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:37:51 PM EST]    InvestorsLive that’s corret Supersev – that’s why it’d be less and like I always cover – sometimes I like to start in and then go full size once I have houses money or the trade working

[Feb 26, 2012 8:38:37 PM EST]    InvestorsLive splendores nailded the trade was near even after the add and never took it .. then let it slowly grind against me it came back .. was down like -4k … didnt take it and let it grind against me again and got caught full size and took it of

[Feb 26, 2012 8:38:39 PM EST]    InvestorsLive off

[Feb 26, 2012 8:38:55 PM EST]    splendores         thank you

[Feb 26, 2012 8:38:58 PM EST]    InvestorsLive but did do those 2 scalps on parabolics I had showed for about $2200 both 10 second trades

[Feb 26, 2012 8:39:19 PM EST]    InvestorsLive it works when you play by the rules, parabolic and cover – but instead I s/s’d the parabolic and held

[Feb 26, 2012 8:39:22 PM EST]    InvestorsLive aka not my plan

[Feb 26, 2012 8:39:35 PM EST]    splendores         ok

[Feb 26, 2012 8:39:39 PM EST]    InvestorsLive The last thing I wanted to cover tonight was PAY YOURSELF!

[Feb 26, 2012 8:39:54 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you guys who are building your accounts never friggin’ take profits

[Feb 26, 2012 8:40:20 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you’re up … up nicely …. and then just keep riding it

[Feb 26, 2012 8:40:24 PM EST]    InvestorsLive up down .. down … down

[Feb 26, 2012 8:40:33 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you’re up nicely for an hour and then turn your good trade into a loss

[Feb 26, 2012 8:40:51 PM EST]    InvestorsLive if you’re up in a trade, you should never turn it into a loser, and remember if you get a fast favoroable move – just take some off …

[Feb 26, 2012 8:41:01 PM EST]    InvestorsLive many times you guys are WAY too concerned about commissions

[Feb 26, 2012 8:41:14 PM EST]    InvestorsLive “but but but my commissions are $5 dollars!”

[Feb 26, 2012 8:41:27 PM EST]    kpottsnc              lol

[Feb 26, 2012 8:41:28 PM EST]    InvestorsLive who gives a flyin’ %%%! you just made $200 but yet you’re afraid of $5 bucks

[Feb 26, 2012 8:41:41 PM EST]    InvestorsLive so you don’t take it off and then you hold it all the way back down to even or red?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:41:46 PM EST]    InvestorsLive lets do the math

[Feb 26, 2012 8:41:51 PM EST]    InvestorsLive up $200 take 1/2 off

[Feb 26, 2012 8:45:33 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Question: [Feb 23, 2012 3:32:28 PM EST] InvestorsLive NITE holding orders fwiw on AWSR [Feb 23, 2012 3:32:35 PM EST] Miltona 1.50′s push here we come [Feb 23, 2012 3:32:38 PM EST] InvestorsLive all out +$2500 cuz he held order [Feb 23, 2012 3:32:43 PM EST] bbstock out FFN for a few pennies no go [Feb 23, 2012 3:33:05 PM EST] AlexL yep, almost 20 second hold [Feb 23, 2012 3:35:49 PM EST] tradernyc LEAP near days highs [Feb 23, 2012 3:36:10 PM EST] Rock yes NITE wont let you cancel AWSR and holds your orders so watrch out This might be a stupid question but what does “hold your orders” mean and why do they do that? Also, what does that tell you?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:45:48 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Answer:

[Feb 26, 2012 8:45:57 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Holding orders means you cancel and your order is ‘pending cancel’ typically in any other environment if you cancel your order you’re immediately cleared and out. In this case when routing to NITE they were holding orders, ie: a sell order in at 1.39 because it looks weak so I’m trying to sell on the offer but then bids come in and looks like its going to break up again, I cancel to try to sell higher but it takes 10-15 seconds to clear the order and in the mean time it takes me out and bust higher without me.

[Feb 26, 2012 8:46:16 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I gave the warning to the chat for anyone who may be trying to trade it because if you think about it from a buying perspective, it may look good and you want to buy it … but then it changes or you see a big seller come in and want to cancel your buy order, if it takes 10-15 seconds or more to cancel chances are you’re going to fill when you don’t want it.

[Feb 26, 2012 8:47:03 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Any questions related to this?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:47:11 PM EST]    FadilCashflow    yea

[Feb 26, 2012 8:47:20 PM EST]    FadilCashflow    if u have it set on LIMIT and dont pick nite, will that still happen

[Feb 26, 2012 8:47:30 PM EST]    FadilCashflow    why is nite allways the one i hear about

[Feb 26, 2012 8:47:31 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I don’t know I was using NITE

[Feb 26, 2012 8:47:32 PM EST]    Timmay                Nate I’ve been experiencing held orders quite a bit on other OTC tickers too… is it because I’m canceling too quickly or is NITE just being a jerk?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:47:33 PM EST]    FadilCashflow    the other ones arent as good or something?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:47:51 PM EST]    FadilCashflow    is nite the one we should use to get into a otc fast as possible?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:48:05 PM EST]    chasebennett    why does NITE do this? are they front running? how is that even legal?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:48:32 PM EST]    InvestorsLive OTC is different than Nasdaq and not regulated the same way

[Feb 26, 2012 8:48:33 PM EST]    splendores         think of NITE as a she helps

[Feb 26, 2012 8:48:37 PM EST]    InvestorsLive NITE may be ‘working’ the order already

[Feb 26, 2012 8:48:46 PM EST]    InvestorsLive even if he isn’t its in the queue and can hold it

[Feb 26, 2012 8:48:54 PM EST]    InvestorsLive is what it is, the point isn’t to debate as to why or what they are doing

[Feb 26, 2012 8:48:58 PM EST]    InvestorsLive the point is what I meant by it

[Feb 26, 2012 8:49:02 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and how it can help

[Feb 26, 2012 8:49:05 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and what it means

[Feb 26, 2012 8:49:24 PM EST]    InvestorsLive the point is a) they were holding orders aka little bit more illiquid and b) think about that if you’re trading it

[Feb 26, 2012 8:50:01 PM EST]    InvestorsLive NITE is the most routed retail MM – I would suggest it for 90% of what you do on OTCs unless ARCA may make a market I may use them UBSS w/ Schwab acct etc

[Feb 26, 2012 8:50:23 PM EST]    InvestorsLive any further questions related?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:50:30 PM EST]    Trader7595         Do you still have access to AUTO?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:50:43 PM EST]    InvestorsLive ThinkorSwim routes to AUTO at times

[Feb 26, 2012 8:51:08 PM EST]    InvestorsLive but no not ECN at Speed – AUTO left all places they were at

[Feb 26, 2012 8:51:16 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Broad Speed etc all lost them

[Feb 26, 2012 8:51:18 PM EST]    publicst                Is there particular reason you dont just use “limit”? and choose route?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:51:57 PM EST]    InvestorsLive no reason to use limit, when you can use NITE – Limit just uses the ‘best route’ available

[Feb 26, 2012 8:52:08 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you’re not saving any money by using non-NITE might as well use NITE

[Feb 26, 2012 8:52:22 PM EST]    InvestorsLive again we’re talking OTCs here for those who are reading and don’t trade OTCs and thinking Nasdaq

[Feb 26, 2012 8:52:31 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Any further related questions before moving on?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:53:08 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Related: QUESTION: Friday ATRN gapped up and I couldn’t sell at the open until it reversed. I don’t understand if it was because I have IB that has only ARCA route for OTCs, and if so using an other broker with NITE and level 2 would have been different or just because no buyers?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:53:16 PM EST]    InvestorsLive ANSWER: IB uses NITE with their SMART route on ATRN so you would have defaulted to NITE anyway. But the point here is a good one, if you’re over night for a gap you need to take profits into the strength, instead if you wait for it to pull back you’re not the only person who wants to get out into that weakness, now you have sellers from the night before, AM buyers changing their minds and panic kicking in. Just goes back to selling into strength. Usually I sell my gappers early, I don’t care how much I COULD be up, fact is I’m up take the profits and now you can go about your day with the houses money to risk.

[Feb 26, 2012 8:53:43 PM EST]    InvestorsLive this touches upon what we discussed earlier as well regarding gappers

[Feb 26, 2012 8:53:48 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and brings up another point

[Feb 26, 2012 8:53:55 PM EST]    InvestorsLive take your profits into the AM strength while everyone still wants it

[Feb 26, 2012 8:54:12 PM EST]    InvestorsLive once the trend changes, it’s the first reason for people to sell or change their mind “oh maybe it does go down too”

[Feb 26, 2012 8:55:27 PM EST]    InvestorsLive yep CBIS another good example

[Feb 26, 2012 8:55:35 PM EST]    Rainmaker          gotta get out quick

[Feb 26, 2012 8:55:40 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and again nothing wrong with buying it again if it sets up

[Feb 26, 2012 8:55:55 PM EST]    InvestorsLive point is the TRADE you took the PLAN you took was a gapper, you got the gapper take the profits

[Feb 26, 2012 8:56:28 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: Please review how you buy into a washout. AWSR on Friday is one otc example of where you nailed it. Also, if a non otc is death dropping, when do you decide to buy? Thanks

[Feb 26, 2012 8:56:37 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION related: Along the same line as Robyn can you explain what you saw on L2 for AWSR ? I am trying to follow that trade.

[Feb 26, 2012 8:56:57 PM EST]    InvestorsLive ANSWER: Washouts as I’ve explained time and time again in seminars are not something to ‘teach’ it’s something to learn over time. When you’re ready you’ll know and you’ll be making the call yourself. The way in which I learned was watching someone I had seen was pretty good at them and watch each time there was one coming down. We spell out which ones we are watching, ATRN types, CBIS if it had dropped hard, AWSR etc. Stocks with huge volume up high (ie: plenty of people to average down so that the bounce is awesome) and just watch for panic.

[Feb 26, 2012 8:57:24 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Like I said above, it’s not only price action volume, time and sales, level 2 and intuition … it’s about going on the other side of the trade and thinking about where people are just straight out panic mode, watch for the volume spike and then more importantly how does it bounce?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:57:40 PM EST]    InvestorsLive If you nail it, it should be hard to fill after that and should uptick on air .01-.02 immediately if it doesn’t you need to think about taking it or at least some off immediately while everyone still thinks it is bouncing before %%%% hits the fan again and it washes out round two.

[Feb 26, 2012 8:58:03 PM EST]    InvestorsLive This takes time, my suggestion is to watch, watch, watch, watch and learn. You’ll pick up different things each time. As I said above I spell out all the bounce plays I am interested in anyway – those are the ones with a legit market built in and worthwhile to watch.

[Feb 26, 2012 8:58:27 PM EST]    Fltrader305         J Lo does look hot! %%%%!

[Feb 26, 2012 8:59:13 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Any questions related to the bounce play?

[Feb 26, 2012 8:59:22 PM EST]    frankcapo            when selling a large position is it better to sell all at once, or break into multiple sells **if ye, what are safe blocks to go out with** … question is based on how buyers with level 2 and/or mm react — ( not related to the commish)

[Feb 26, 2012 8:59:25 PM EST]    Xtraderr               do you just guesstimate bounce area, place bid and wait for a fill or take offer?

[Feb 26, 2012 9:00:13 PM EST]    doman  Up tick on Air, not getting that. please explain

[Feb 26, 2012 9:00:22 PM EST]    InvestorsLive frank – I sell into strength and usually dont sell one block at once unless into a wall – otehrwise you’re just making it look weaker I’d rather sell by surprise into strength

[Feb 26, 2012 9:00:44 PM EST]    frankcapo            sweet thanks

[Feb 26, 2012 9:00:53 PM EST]    Vegita   can you explain .. ‘plenty of people to average down’ psychology?

[Feb 26, 2012 9:01:35 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Xtrader- have an idea of where I’d like to see it bounce, watch is slow down a bit fake bounce and then washout panic and usually I like to take that one – riskiest play in the book and would not suggest for newbs hence when I say it I say ‘risky as %%%”

[Feb 26, 2012 9:02:17 PM EST]    InvestorsLive doman – when it reverses it should uptick rather quickly, if it turns and upticks a little bit and hits another wall, you need to think about getting out or decreasing in case it needs to drop again – it should uptick on air ie: low vol and up a faster than it fell

[Feb 26, 2012 9:02:27 PM EST]    spiderdan04       lol POWT never bounced. ::mellow

[Feb 26, 2012 9:02:41 PM EST]    Xtraderr               also fills are hard as hell on those upticks

[Feb 26, 2012 9:02:42 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Vegita – typically I only play the bounces on BIG charts and BIG volume where there are plenty of traders

[Feb 26, 2012 9:02:49 PM EST]    Xtraderr               re AWSR morning panic bounce

[Feb 26, 2012 9:03:09 PM EST]    InvestorsLive spiderdan – yes POWT never bounces MUCH but we naied each bottom – had I not held a core that would have been an awesome day since we got each bottom

[Feb 26, 2012 9:03:53 PM EST]    InvestorsLive instead I held a core and let it get away – but coulda been awesome – but that’s exactly right POWT was a good example, we nailed the dips … perfect started to bounce upticked .01 and hit a wall and wouldnt move

[Feb 26, 2012 9:04:18 PM EST]    InvestorsLive while its still in bounce mode if you see size getting let out big blocks and still unloading u need to use that volume to get out before everyone hits the bids again and your sh*t outta luck

[Feb 26, 2012 9:04:40 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Xtrader – re: AWSR yes once it turns the offers lock and its a hard fill which is what should happen when you nail it

[Feb 26, 2012 9:05:11 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: I think you said “bubble bath” at one point when talking about a stock, um what was that? Lol

[Feb 26, 2012 9:05:19 PM EST]    InvestorsLive ANSWER: You’ll see me when I nail a stock and in pretty good size and up … I go into bubble bath mode – relaxxxxxxx and let it roll. That’s all, sometimes its better to take a bubble bath than watch every tick.

[Feb 26, 2012 9:05:55 PM EST]    hulman125          hilarious

[Feb 26, 2012 9:06:05 PM EST]    InvestorsLive something my buddy Ryan (harbs in the chat room) and I … we have traded together for years on gmail and we just started saying it one day after we were in RAYS or something adn I was like OK I’m in HUGE I need to go take a bubble bath or something to keep my mind off it

[Feb 26, 2012 9:06:38 PM EST]    Xtraderr               why is harbs so quiet speaking of which

[Feb 26, 2012 9:07:04 PM EST]    frankcapo            bubble bath in trading = rocking chair victory in sports

[Feb 26, 2012 9:07:45 PM EST]    splendores         that was way before RAYS, you’ve been taking bubble baths last year already

[Feb 26, 2012 9:07:46 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: You also mentioned building smaller accounts in a previous seminar. If you were in that account building phase would you simply stick to the AwesomePenny type promos and watch and learn the rest for now? Seems most of the time risk/reward is best on those plays. Even a bad entry can be made up because the promo group runs it. This a fair assessment?

[Feb 26, 2012 9:07:46 PM EST]    InvestorsLive ANSWER: Yep, I probably will play Awesome/Crazy penny as my first trade in my SureTrader account. But that doesn’t mean you can trade other things, don’t get me wrong there is still a lot of risk in that, hopefully they are as good as their last but you can still easily lose 50% if they are not. So just keep that in mind.

[Feb 26, 2012 9:08:23 PM EST]    InvestorsLive speldores – yea was just using it as an example we’ve done it for years, but those sorta plays, stocks we know we are right in but know we will sell … but really want to hold and hte only way we’d hold is if we went to take a buble bath lol

[Feb 26, 2012 9:08:46 PM EST]    splendores         oh lol

[Feb 26, 2012 9:09:03 PM EST]    hulman125          Like NSRS you went in large at .20 and were out before the end of the day on day1

[Feb 26, 2012 9:09:16 PM EST]    hulman125          Surprised you didnt hold for the gap

[Feb 26, 2012 9:09:17 PM EST]    InvestorsLive yes but once it upticked and I knew I was good

[Feb 26, 2012 9:09:21 PM EST]    InvestorsLive it was bubble bath time

[Feb 26, 2012 9:09:29 PM EST]    InvestorsLive cuz I sit there and watch it.. I take it off

[Feb 26, 2012 9:09:33 PM EST]    InvestorsLive anyway

[Feb 26, 2012 9:09:37 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: You lose your shirt this week on Sears can you explain why? Why you no stick to your plans? Will be good lesson for us.

[Feb 26, 2012 9:09:48 PM EST]    Xtraderr               lol Sears

[Feb 26, 2012 9:09:48 PM EST]    InvestorsLive ANSWER: Many times when I’m up large I use houses money to my advantage, I may take on more risk since It’s basically a free day. With that sad, I had warned if SHLD does slow grinding and holds $62s .. $63s be sure to get out. I wasn’t in much at the time so let it go against me it popped parabolic and I nailed the trade but got greedy – nailed the top pulled right back about 2 bucks and never took profits – instead now I was in full size and let it move against me $2 bucks and that was enough.

[Feb 26, 2012 9:10:09 PM EST]    InvestorsLive For the record I had a button down shirt on and never lost it

[Feb 26, 2012 9:10:40 PM EST]    InvestorsLive but the main reason I got my %%% whipped is cuz I was in large given my day – between ATRN and the AWSR call was up real pretty

[Feb 26, 2012 9:10:40 PM EST]    88888    lol 🙂

[Feb 26, 2012 9:10:51 PM EST]    InvestorsLive so I was using houses money and it didn’t work out

[Feb 26, 2012 9:11:04 PM EST]    InvestorsLive only time I risk that large is with a padding like I had

[Feb 26, 2012 9:11:27 PM EST]    InvestorsLive but in chat I told and said where to stop out two or three times and warned

[Feb 26, 2012 9:11:32 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I just let it slide b/c I had a big padding

[Feb 26, 2012 9:11:40 PM EST]    kpottsnc              Do you think you’ll trade SHLD tomorrow?

[Feb 26, 2012 9:11:51 PM EST]    Rainmaker          its ok when ur winning % is like 90.86 lol

[Feb 26, 2012 9:12:15 PM EST]    frankcapo            when your playing an APS / crazy penny type of stock when do you look to get in? after day one to see if a bust? or as early as possible

[Feb 26, 2012 9:12:18 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Hopefully SHLD opens 70+

[Feb 26, 2012 9:12:20 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and rips to 72

[Feb 26, 2012 9:12:24 PM EST]    InvestorsLive so we can s/s it back to 68

[Feb 26, 2012 9:12:28 PM EST]    Xtraderr               SHLD was mad tricky, glad i didnt have shares; prbly woulda ate shiit, retarded range

[Feb 26, 2012 9:12:48 PM EST]    InvestorsLive the problem with this market is stocks go up $7 bucks and down $1 dollar and then up $8

[Feb 26, 2012 9:13:04 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and as long as you’re willing to chase $12 dollar move to make $5/share then you’re good to go

[Feb 26, 2012 9:13:13 PM EST]    InvestorsLive or willing to buy AAPL every time it looks like death

[Feb 26, 2012 9:13:15 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you’re good to go

[Feb 26, 2012 9:13:35 PM EST]    InvestorsLive but for me I’m not ok with it, I can short and nail the top but the key thing is

[Feb 26, 2012 9:13:38 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you gotta take profits

[Feb 26, 2012 9:18:11 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: Sometimes I see you say they are trapping shorts? Whose they and is this a setup they do as a plan?

[Feb 26, 2012 9:18:13 PM EST]    InvestorsLive We had discussed this in last week’s seminar. They being the market, usually after a big ‘warranted’ move … ie: reasonable cause for it to be trading higher may trend a stock lower pre market on lighter volume which could attract shorts and weak hands, where as smart money may be absorbing shares for the move higher. Once it starts to perk red/green not only do you have momentum traders looking to trade it, but potential shorts covering etc all at once which causes a nice move. [Feb 26, 2012 9:27:05 PM EST]    Vegita   any advice on how to train to be able to do that?

[Feb 26, 2012 9:27:05 PM EST]    lmnop   Just a quick note that may help others. I was feeling lost. I had only scanned the new member stuff. I spent quite a bit of time reviewing the reccomended seminars in detail and I found it was time well spent. I have much more clarity after taking the time to understand vs. scanning the info. I can now look at a call in chat and then call up a chart and see where the decision points are. Now: “watch for it to pull and re-test .80s, if it perks off the .80s I’ll add back in and stop low 70s” makes sense because I know why the .80s are important. Not necessarily take the trade, but understand why it was called out. If I don’t understand, then I stay the F away. I can always go back and look at it after the chat is posted, or ask in the next seminar.
