by | Jul 27, 2015

We have a webinar 8PM EST Tuesday night (with Nate)

Remind me to record (I forgot to on the last one, first one in a while)

Please post questions below for it ! Remember questions can be ANYTHING but it’s assumed that you’re familiar with both DVDs and new members page we don’t want to be wasting members time who have actually done this

Also any particular topics we can start to build a plan and I can prepare topics for webinars going forward – just an idea I had and looking for thoughts
Come into chat 7:50PM make sure it all works for you – and we’ll start right on time at 8PM

Questions below !

Thanks

  1. Stuffing: Still really struggling to understand this concept fully. Am i about right in thinking the stock needs to be a). up and b) flat for a period of time? If the stock is satisfying both of these and then has what appears to be failed multiple breakout attempts – if the bids get pulled without appearing on ticker tape, the stock could be getting stuffed. am i about there?

    • Also, well aware this question will annoy some people – despite watching VSR on TT and getting others opinions on it I am struggling to always spot it when it happens.

  2. Did you answer this question in another webinar? If so, i do not see that webinar posted…. “How do you personally handle a situation where if you are short on a stock with a risk set at $55.50 for example… How do you handle the situation if it instantly takes a huge 1 minute spike up to about 55.90 … do you rush to cover right there as fast as you can at 55.90+, or do you try to wait for it to pull back a little closer to your initial risk? I’m just curious because I’ve experience alot of times where the stock shoots past my risk.. leaving me with a bigger risk than I initially wanted to take… sometimes it comes back to where I can take a smaller loss … but sometimes it just keeps going… I’m just curious how you personally handle a situation like that?”

  3. Other than your DVDs (both of which I own and am currently watching for the 3rd time) and chat, are there any books or other learning materials that you would recommend for a beginner? What if any tools were useful to you, when you were learning?

    • hey – not sure what Nate has read but Jesse Livermore has 2 good really books. How to trade stocks and reminisence of a stock operator is a book about him. if you find any more please share them as i’ll check them out.

  4. Nate, could you please talk to heavily shorted stocks and what to look for or look at in terms of will they continue to fall in price or what will trigger a turn-around and short squeeze.

  5. Nate, can you talk a little about how you size in and out of trades. How do you pick what size to go in with at a particular price? What do you look for when deciding when to add or exit? Do you look at it solely in terms of how close the current price is to support/resistance levels or are there other factors you consider? Thanks!

  8. What steps do you recommend, after someone gets to be more consistent and comfortable with a particular setup ? The obvious one is to increase size, but what else is there to expect ? and what pitfalls are there to watch out for ?

    • This is also related to ‘rags’ question about sizing in and out. I see quite a few IU trader twitter screen shots where they execute multiple entries and exits for their trades. Any thoughts on how to go about moving towards multiple trades ? Account size / position size considerations ? And the actual mechanics of when to add ? and when to cut back ?

  9. I hope this is not trivial but I do not understand the significance of seeing trades of 1,2 or less than 10 stocks being traded during the day on any particular company and get really confused when I see this happing with stocks that are less than a penny, meaning the commission on the trade is most probably more than the transaction???

  10. Nate, could you please explain what exactly getting “heavy” means. To my understanding something is “thin” when there isn’t a lot of volume and getting “heavy” means too much volume w/ stuffing or soaking action along with it. But I still have a hard time understanding what it tells you in terms of getting long or short.

  11. Just to clear any confusion my question was addressing trades of one or two and many times less than ten shares being traded on any particular company stock during the day. What that means especially if no short squeeze is taking place. I hope my question is clear now. Thanks.

  12. Nate, Recently you referred a term “exhaustion candle” several times in chat. I looked up the term on google and have some idea. Will be nice if you can give some examples and explain us when you would look for such candles intraday to trigger a trade both on short and long side.

    Thanks,
    Sunil

  13. Do you move your stop higher when a stock starts basing at a higher level or just leave yourself more room? Is that where you would add to position and then have different stops? Thanks, Mike

  15. Also, can you talk a little about the why stocks have morning washouts after looking bullish pre-market? Like, why do washouts happen?

  16. I seem to take 2 steps forward and 3 steps back, 2 forward 2 back, etc. I try to stick to the same style for the ones lose on but I am still having trouble pinpointing my issue here. Any thoughts, suggestions, etc? thank you

  17. What chart indicators do you focus on? Meaning 1 min, 5 min, 15, etc. Any Accum/dist or money flow, any moving averages? I tend to focus on too much and I need to pair this down, curious what you suggest to focus on for intraday charts
