Webinar 6/17 PREP 8PM EST (Nate)

by | Jun 17, 2014

Please post questions below in comment section

Please remember that I assume you’ve read the new members page (getting started page) if you don’t already have the DVD.

I know not everyone has the DVD — most do but the part I assume is that you’ve taken a weekend, a few nights etc and are familiar with how we trade, general lingo, what ABCD set up looks like, parabolic washouts etc …  I don’t mind answering educated questions (ie: shows you’ve reviewed the pages or DVD) but don’t waste other members time with questions like – do you use RSI? MACD? Do you use 1 min charts? because this shows you haven’t tried …

I want to make this a positive experience for all members — we always get a TON done, TON answered and many ah hah moments

Post any and all questions below

Log into the room a bit before 8PM EST we’ll have the code for you in the momentum chat (regular room I am in every day)

  1. Hi Nate! Three questions please:

    1) I know short shares have a fee at the broker if hold overnight. But there is fee also if I only short intraday? Never or depends on the broker?…I have Interactive Brokers

    2) I believe “averaging up” is the same as “scale in” (adding to winner) and “averaging down” the same as “scale out” (adding to loser). Is this correct? just want to know if I’m misunderstanding something or is correct.

    3) Do you have any videos or can explain how do you add to starting positions on your trades? You always kill the 1/4 positions by adding. What factors make you determine the right add point?

    Thank you!

  2. Hi Nate, can you talk a bit about your strategy for adding to winning positions? Like how soon in to/after the initial move etc, what do you look for price/volume wise etc. Can you also outline how/when you would trade around a core position. Some examples with entries and exits would be awesome, thank you.

  3. Hi Nate,

I’ve heard you say SpeedTrader getting ETC would be a big deal. I know Wedbush is great for locates, so what is the advantage of ETC over other no name clearing firms? Do they also have great availability for shorts? Better execution than other firms? Searched a bit online but didn’t find much. Thanks!

  4. Hi Nate,

I have a couple of questions regarding your trading setup and entries–
    1. Can you explain your setup of charts(which timeframes do you use and when ), which Indicators you use.
    2. How do you organize your watchlists?
    3. What confirmations do you use before entering a trade?

    Thanks!

  5. 1.) It’s a common notion that 90% of traders fail at this career; what do you believe is unique about your skills or abilities that allow you to succeed and stay consistently profitable?
2.) What are the biggest mistakes you notice that new traders continually make?
3.) What are the biggest mistakes you notice that professional traders continually make?
4.) What are your key principles to becoming a consistent, profitable trader?

  6. Nate, during the course of the day, you do trade other stocks besides the actual watch-list from the night before and chat room suggestions. what is your source of those new stocks ? do you run continuous scans for something , intraday or is it something else.

Also, what news sources would you recommend for fast news that can impact a stock movement? Thanks!

  7. hi!
    1. How do you decide (know) which stocks go with SPY and which don’t? General knowledge, experience, size of the company, …? I suppose hot OTC plays do not care about SPY moves.
I’ve noticed that unexpected SPY moves can disrupt nicely forming patterns.
Can you talk a bit how closely you watch overall market (SPY, VIX, etc.)?
    2. In your experience do trading halts (those suspected frauds as PGFY) happen overnight or can SEC halt frauds during trading hours? (More specific question would be do we have to fear to get stuck with long position in some suspected fraud company while trading only intraday or can we still do it cautiously?)
    Thanks
