Seminar Sunday Night The 26th – What’s on Tap?

by | Jun 24, 2011

Yes, that means bring a beer! (Leave comments for seminar in the comment section)

We’ve got a lot to go over … we have a lot of new members. I 100% highly positively wish each and every new member (even old) go over the powerpoints and comments on this new member page.

I am in no way … ‘pushing off’ members because I don’t want to answer questions … as anyone who knows me who has PMed me … I will spend hours on a PM helping IF you show you’ve done the ONLY homework I suggest. Others…. get pissed off… cancel… when I get aggravated that they ask me what a 1 min chart is … or what this is … what that is … when it’s on literally every single suggested seminar and powerpoint clear as day. Ask domino she says “I even re read this weekly and pick up new things each time, it’s a must read” 🙂

Point is … we’re here to help but you first have to help yourself. You are NOT going to get our strategy over night. It will take days… maybe weeks… maybe even months… but one thing is for sure.. it took me nearly 6 months to figure out a strategy that made me money – I am constantly fine tuning it …. even to this day… learn new things, finding out things that work better etc etc. What I do know though … is I can prevent you some SERIOUS losses that I took when learning how to trade. I cannot tell you how many members come in trying to tell me this .0001 stock is the next big thing and it’s going to $1 (ie: kool aid drinking machines) … and are now current members trading profitably and alerting great stuff in the chat.

We’ll start as normal 8PM EST – Bring questions – anything goes … if you screwed up this week … mention it .. show what you did…. and ask what could have been done differently … something not making sense in chat? … ask us … want more examples of a certain set up.. ask it…

Also before we finish with the seminar I’d like to brainstorm a bunch of ‘chapter’ ideas for new members and stuff you had wish you learned on day one, some of those ‘uh huh’ moments and… things you’d like to learn more about going forward. I want to start to compile a list cuz maybe just maybe I get around to making something that can help all members.

  1. I would like to know how to predict big sell off before it actually starts, if that possible ? I dont know if there is a PP on this, but I am not sure how to take advantage of Level 2 yet. The trade I want to go over is FCSC that ripped my $800 bucks off with my fingers still attached 🙂 Why did it drop from $2 premarket and didnt move a bit up ? I thought it had good news.

  2. Hello,

Most of the profits I am making recently are not from the homework at night but things that are popping up in chat that day. I am getting fewer results with my nightly scans. Is there a way I should edit my scans for the summer months?

The homework portion is taking a lot less time these days. I am using the time to get familiar with former runners. Any other suggestions since there is more downtime? The chat logs from both rooms being posted is a HUGE help. Thanks again for that (sorry, I can’t remember who does it).

When you are playing a stock and it is hitting new highs, is there a guide you use to help you know where it might be headed other than round numbers?

Love the chat rooms and the resources–both helpful and fun. THANK YOU.

  3. question about filling of orders… on the 17th of last week I went long JCOF when it was breaking to new highs… I saw your comment in chat about getting out early the next day since there were a lot of people playing it..  I only wanted to unload 2000 shares at the opening when it gapped up…  I had 2 limit orders to sell 1000 shares set several cents below the bid right after open when it wasn’t moving up…  I was routing through SMART on IB….  it took several minutes for 1 order to fill… once the selling started there was no way for me to get out… I kept setting limit orders lower and lower, again several cents below the bid…  I didn’t get my last 1000 share fill until I changed to a market order…  Sykes was able to sell off his 30,000 shares way before this… I understand once the selling starts its just tough to get out period, but is there a better way to do this?  several smaller orders of 100-200 shares?  straight market order at the open?  set a limit WAY below the bid?  I had the same difficulty with WAMUQ and until I can figure this out, I don’t want to play any sizeable positions….  thanks for any insights you may have…

  4. Is it possible to conduct a webinar instead of a seminar where you can speak your answers, present more scan examples and other related stuff from your pc with integrated audio conferencing?
I guess this will help members better understand strategies, Scans etc and trade effectively especially new members.

This is only my suggestion and ignore if this is not possible.

    • Would love to do webinar at some time .. some day but I’m not set up for it now .. and prefer to make a DVD or something one day from A to Z

  5. Yes. I agree with Gilly123 that it would be great if we could have a webinar instead of seminars. It will definitively help newbies to grasp ideas quicker. Pictures (or videos) are worth a thousand words.

  6. Several minor questions… with one major one…

    4.      –
    Risk/Reward… It’s a big part of creating a plan,
but how do you establish it?

    – When you say stocks are “related”, what does
this mean? (eg: PIP & SIGA)

    2.
    – What is a sympathy play?

    3.
    – “Big pull” or “pull” = Big pull-back off HOD’s? IE: Short setup OR wait and go “long”
on the dip?Just looking for confirmation on this (ie: yes or no)
-What does “gaming for entries” mean? only

    6.
    – How do you know when a “Sector” gets hot? What
are the indicators? Where do you read this information?

    7.
    – When you say someone “positions trades”, what
    does that mean?

    • 4. Again as I suggest prior to seminar I would suggest reviewing the new
member page on these. This has visuals on 3 favorite set ups and then
end of the OTC seminar I have lots of charts with the same moves.

PIP and SIGA have history together … read the PRs and you’ll see the
connections. Lawsuits = bad for SIGA good for PIP or something like that
… that’s why they move in opposite directions sometimes.

Rest I will answer in seminar

  7. How do you (NATE) establish S/R? I know the charts you look at (3/6 month daily), and you like intraday 1 min (you keep it super simple… but you have a knack for being able to find the bottom (ie: support) intraday pretty f’in good. Just wondering what YOU are looking at… when establishing these two keys markers.

  8. IL had a crazy week the week before last, and a lot of the gains came from taking much larger position sizes than normal.  Usually, I see IL taking losses of $500, but on Monday, June 13th, IL took a loss on ORS of $5k before subsequently making $18k (and then on Wednesday making over $20k).  What was the reason for the almost 10x increase in risk?  Is this a case of going for the jugular when you know that you’re right?

  11. For Tuesday, investorslive scan, mentioned NYNY – watch for gapup, push and look to short.  I saw during pre-market is was moving up to 1.20 range, but I waited for market to open to see if it pushed higher.  But instead, it went down almost immediately to .95 range.

I missed the opportunity and told myself, to be patient, don’t chase and wait for the next setup.  Which is progress for me.

Question, “was there anything in pre-market that i should have seen that would have told me it was a good time to buy pre-market?”

    • Do you mean short it pre market? this question doesn’t really make sense to me .. if you could clarify

  12. When shorting a stock, most of the time i am setting market orders because I can’t get filled on limit orders.  It could be the market is moving so fast that my limit order is not realistic.  Can you give any guidelines on what to specify when “shorting a stock” and then when “buy to cover”.   Is it based on the bid or the ask price.  Laura explained this to me, but I still was not getting filled, so I went back to market orders.

Also,  i find when trader530 gives an alert, i specify market order because it moves so fast.  I am curious, do other people do that also.

  13. I have seen alerts similiar to “big block” is coming in.  Could you explain, what you are seeing and how that affects the stock.?  I can’t find the exact wording, but it is used frequently.

  14. Just a comment to say what i have learned and how I use the chat room.  I am more comfortable PM people, when I am confused on what they say.  A few months ago, i was not comfortable asking questions.

Example, i was thinking one way about a stock, PM someone and they gave me their opinion.  Then I saw a comment in the chatroom from someone else that totally went against what i was thinking.  So I PM that person asking why are you thinking that way.  To find out their comment was not related to the stock I was watching.

An easy PM to someone cleared up my thinking within seconds.  I

  15. Questions for the Seminar of 6-26
    1. You guys often talk about risk – how do you calculate “risk” on a transaction?
    2. What is a “beat chart”?
    3. Just started 2 weeks ago and a total newbie. not too much money, need to build my account. Should I be starting in the “subber” chat or in the momentum chat?
    4. Went to Penny Stock Rumble to look up P+Ds, but found that the ones that have the best success rate are not the ones you mentioned (Best Damned Stocks, CrazyPenny and PinnyPic) How do you tell which ones create the “big” volume (as opposed to big price jump)? Or is this even the right question? What should we be looking at to know which ones to follow?
    Thanks!!
