[Feb 13, 2011 8:01:06 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Nice at least abulloch is awake lol

[Feb 13, 2011 8:01:09 PM EST]    marketmaker1177           yes

[Feb 13, 2011 8:01:26 PM EST]    marketmaker1177           grammys and seminar

[Feb 13, 2011 8:01:44 PM EST]    InvestorsLive http://www.investorsunderground.com/2011/02/11/questions-for-seminar-on-sunday-the-13th/

[Feb 13, 2011 8:01:53 PM EST]    InvestorsLive put some charts on that page that I will go over

[Feb 13, 2011 8:01:56 PM EST]    Papaneo              hi all

[Feb 13, 2011 8:01:56 PM EST]    InvestorsLive just in case you miss a link

[Feb 13, 2011 8:01:59 PM EST]    InvestorsLive when I am talkin’ about it

[Feb 13, 2011 8:02:07 PM EST]    InvestorsLive but will start with Cosmo’s

[Feb 13, 2011 8:02:18 PM EST]    InvestorsLive When GWAY was bouncing off bottom, were they trying to squeeze shorts at that point? Trying to understand what the end game is for the promoters or whoever is controlling the price action.

[Feb 13, 2011 8:02:45 PM EST]    InvestorsLive They are not going to “squeeze” shorts at the low of day

[Feb 13, 2011 8:02:55 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Squeeze happens near highs

[Feb 13, 2011 8:03:08 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and it’s a result of buyers buyin the breakout and people who are short who panic and cover at any price

[Feb 13, 2011 8:03:15 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and thus spike the price towards the upside

[Feb 13, 2011 8:03:22 PM EST]    InvestorsLive however in a case like GWAY

[Feb 13, 2011 8:03:30 PM EST]    InvestorsLive http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/8076/gway.png

[Feb 13, 2011 8:03:53 PM EST]    InvestorsLive just a normal bottom reversal – everyone who had been playing it probably looking for a bottom considering the prior few days move

[Feb 13, 2011 8:04:08 PM EST]    InvestorsLive the only things that shorts would be doing at these levels and potentially covering soem of their positions

[Feb 13, 2011 8:04:15 PM EST]    InvestorsLive but as far as a squeeze no

[Feb 13, 2011 8:04:37 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I drew some lines on the chart which is where I started to get interested in it

[Feb 13, 2011 8:04:46 PM EST]    InvestorsLive once it started to base and move sideways and the selling slowed down

[Feb 13, 2011 8:06:16 PM EST]    Papaneo              is there a way to ‘predic’ such future moves on other tickers by looking at short positions and chart/technicals?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:07:22 PM EST]    jout8     are you allright IL?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:08:42 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      short squeeze definition http://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/shortsqueeze.asp

[Feb 13, 2011 8:09:53 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      you can go here http://www.shortsqueeze.com/?symbol=gway&submit=Short+Quote%99 to determine how large of a short position there is with any given stock

[Feb 13, 2011 8:10:28 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      short float is what it is called.

[Feb 13, 2011 8:10:45 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      so if the stock trades 1million shares a day

[Feb 13, 2011 8:10:51 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      and 5 million shares are short

[Feb 13, 2011 8:10:58 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      then it would take 5 days for them to cover

[Feb 13, 2011 8:11:33 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      if the stock starts moving higher, it would start squeezing people who are short, causing the stock to go up in price.

[Feb 13, 2011 8:12:00 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      because when some one covers a short it moves the stock up like a normal “buy” would

[Feb 13, 2011 8:12:17 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      stocks can really get moving if shorts get squeezed

[Feb 13, 2011 8:12:18 PM EST]    simonj1                so how do you read that? there is only 100 shares short on GWAY?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:12:53 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      100 shares short

[Feb 13, 2011 8:13:00 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      so not a big squeeze is going to happen

[Feb 13, 2011 8:13:05 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      everyone who had shares has covered

[Feb 13, 2011 8:13:40 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      that site might not be the best place to find out the short float though, I use it for large stocks

[Feb 13, 2011 8:13:50 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      not smaller priced stocks like GWAY

[Feb 13, 2011 8:14:04 PM EST]    InvestorsLive hey guys – what was last thing I said in chat?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:14:09 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I just signed on and off

[Feb 13, 2011 8:14:18 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      once it started to base and move sideways and the selling slowed down

[Feb 13, 2011 8:14:26 PM EST]    chunger               (Feb 13-17:04) InvestorsLive: once it started to base and move sideways and the selling slowed down

[Feb 13, 2011 8:14:34 PM EST]    InvestorsLive sh*t

[Feb 13, 2011 8:14:35 PM EST]    InvestorsLive 1 sec

[Feb 13, 2011 8:14:51 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      you answered teh first question

[Feb 13, 2011 8:15:01 PM EST]    InvestorsLive (Feb 13-20:04) InvestorsLive: once it started to base and move sideways and the selling slowed down (Feb 13-20:05) InvestorsLive: but the thing is – is I wasn’t ‘sure’ and thus I ‘legged’ into the position (Feb 13-20:05) InvestorsLive: because if it broke under that support (as it did) you saw me hoping for a quick panic sell off (big one) (Feb 13-20:05) InvestorsLive: because those are normally the best trades and pick ups (Feb 13-20:06) InvestorsLive: Also another question related to como’s what this (Feb 13-20:06) InvestorsLive: QUESTION: Kinda of the same cosmo is asking. When you say wdco or whatever mm at the time is supporting it, How do the promoters do that. Are they actually buying hundreds of thousands of shares if not millions to support the bid? Or are the MM’s themselves buying the shares up because they are aware of the promotion (Feb 13-20:07) InvestorsLive: The market makers are making a market – let’s take EARH for example

[Feb 13, 2011 8:15:37 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Feb 13-20:07) InvestorsLive: better example (Feb 13-20:07) InvestorsLive: WDCO on bid may be buying thousands, hundreds millions (Feb 13-20:07) InvestorsLive: but AUTO always on the offer (Feb 13-20:07) InvestorsLive: they use a seperate market maker to sell through (Feb 13-20:07) InvestorsLive: so in the end they’re just keeping it liquid and keeping it trending (Feb 13-20:08) InvestorsLive: Any further questions on these 2 ? (same format as always – I’ll go over the questions sent in …. if questions are on topic and related ask after each) and then we’ll open it up

[Feb 13, 2011 8:17:11 PM EST]    InvestorsLive the short data on GWAY is incorrect

[Feb 13, 2011 8:17:15 PM EST]    InvestorsLive not sure where you’re getting 100 shares

[Feb 13, 2011 8:17:16 PM EST]    InvestorsLive but

[Feb 13, 2011 8:17:40 PM EST]    InvestorsLive considering Tim and others shorted over 15k shares

[Feb 13, 2011 8:17:43 PM EST]    InvestorsLive we know that’s not true

[Feb 13, 2011 8:17:53 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I wouldn’t use any information on any websites for amount of shares short in OTC land

[Feb 13, 2011 8:18:00 PM EST]    InvestorsLive it’s all inaccurate and a big miconception

[Feb 13, 2011 8:18:04 PM EST]    MilesJStoner      u know a good site for peeps to find shorts?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:18:13 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and so is the Finra website that all pumpers use to say “X amount is short”

[Feb 13, 2011 8:18:24 PM EST]    InvestorsLive none really – it’s pointless, it doesn’t help anyone trade

[Feb 13, 2011 8:19:06 PM EST]    InvestorsLive has looking up short data really ever made anyone money?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:19:16 PM EST]    InvestorsLive It’s just something that is a waste of time imo

[Feb 13, 2011 8:19:56 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Alright I’ll move onto next question if no more questions – and if there were anymore before that question please ask – because for wahtever reason my internet signed off

[Feb 13, 2011 8:19:58 PM EST]    abulloch               pumpers love to throw numbers of shorts around to frighten people, of course

[Feb 13, 2011 8:20:05 PM EST]    InvestorsLive right – but it’s all false

[Feb 13, 2011 8:20:10 PM EST]    abulloch               of course

[Feb 13, 2011 8:20:20 PM EST]    marketmaker1177           how come you werent sure about GWAY’s bottom, cause of the no volume span?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:20:36 PM EST]    InvestorsLive well it came up from way low – so I wanted to start in smaller

[Feb 13, 2011 8:20:42 PM EST]    InvestorsLive cuz as you know I like buying most of time panic only

[Feb 13, 2011 8:20:46 PM EST]    InvestorsLive because that’s what I am good at

[Feb 13, 2011 8:20:54 PM EST]    InvestorsLive that’s why I was ‘legging’ into it

[Feb 13, 2011 8:21:03 PM EST]    InvestorsLive only time I’d buy size flat out is off a panic

[Feb 13, 2011 8:21:15 PM EST]    InvestorsLive where I know I’m in at bottom .. and if not … well, then I lose

[Feb 13, 2011 8:21:18 PM EST]    chunger               IL: Could you define “legging into it”?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:21:29 PM EST]    InvestorsLive just like I spelled out in chat Friday…

[Feb 13, 2011 8:21:32 PM EST]    InvestorsLive start off way small

[Feb 13, 2011 8:21:38 PM EST]    InvestorsLive hopef or a panic for entry

[Feb 13, 2011 8:21:47 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and average into the position

[Feb 13, 2011 8:21:52 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and again – not ‘average down’

[Feb 13, 2011 8:21:56 PM EST]    InvestorsLive average IN

[Feb 13, 2011 8:22:28 PM EST]    chunger               gotcha

[Feb 13, 2011 8:22:42 PM EST]    InvestorsLive any further questions on that topic? example

[Feb 13, 2011 8:22:46 PM EST]    Papaneo              each time do you place a sell stop in the ‘leggin in’?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:22:50 PM EST]    InvestorsLive no

[Feb 13, 2011 8:22:53 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I don’t use stops

[Feb 13, 2011 8:23:04 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and most definately don’t use one on OTCs

[Feb 13, 2011 8:23:06 PM EST]    InvestorsLive that’s asking for it

[Feb 13, 2011 8:23:14 PM EST]    Papaneo              tnx

[Feb 13, 2011 8:23:26 PM EST]    larrybf119            my first day here…. is there any voice chat???????????

[Feb 13, 2011 8:23:35 PM EST]    InvestorsLive no Larry

[Feb 13, 2011 8:23:46 PM EST]    InvestorsLive alright I’ll go to next question sent in

[Feb 13, 2011 8:23:52 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: Looking for some tips on how to play the first 15 mins or so. I see it happens a lot a stock rips out of open huge, how do you play that? Chase it? Wait to see if it pulls? wait for it to cross a whole number? Seems like I just sit a watch a stock rip all too often and dont take advantage of it. How do you decide on a stop for it?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:24:23 PM EST]    InvestorsLive The first 15 minutes isn’t a time to use “red/green” HODs! LODs! etc… as .. they’ll be going off like crazy – that’s what happens out of the gate the way I play the first 15 minutes is stocks that I am prepared on stocks I know coming in had a big move… and at night I know if XYZ pops out of the open I want to short that!

[Feb 13, 2011 8:24:49 PM EST]    InvestorsLive And if it does… in the fist 2-5 minutes and it rips parabolic – then bang… theres ur trade .. same thing for a big drop – maybe something has been selling off – take GLER for example on Friday I mentioned will be on watch for Monday into sub penny land (opposite the parabolic move)

[Feb 13, 2011 8:25:14 PM EST]    InvestorsLive But I know if in the first 15 minutes I see GLER tank sub .01 I will be watching like a hawk to load the bottom for reversal so that’s how I play the first 15 minutes – you either have a plan or you don’t and there’s nothing wrong with not having a plan and avoiding the first 15 minutes

[Feb 13, 2011 8:25:33 PM EST]    chunger               is after hours action a decent predictor of where the stock will go when it opens?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:25:57 PM EST]    InvestorsLive not always – as you saw with CMG

[Feb 13, 2011 8:26:26 PM EST]    InvestorsLive any questions regarding my examples above guys – lets stay on topic of questions asked for sake of seminars logs – if u didn’t send in questions I’ll open it up after as I said

[Feb 13, 2011 8:26:44 PM EST]    InvestorsLive There’s nothing wrong with not trading in the first 15 minutes – just remember that

[Feb 13, 2011 8:26:51 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you can always let trades set up to something your familiar with

[Feb 13, 2011 8:27:03 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I personally like quick scalps in the first 5-10 minutes

[Feb 13, 2011 8:27:11 PM EST]    knorr     When they are ripping like that and you hop in do you cut it off as soon as it goes against? like when you are tryn to get bottom etc?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:27:14 PM EST]    InvestorsLive but you should only be doing that if you have a plan, see an opportunity and know waht you’re doing

[Feb 13, 2011 8:28:05 PM EST]    InvestorsLive knorr – yea, stick to your normal rules, you can start into it if it pops (like I had shown in the presentation powerpoint few weeks back with the parabolic examples)

[Feb 13, 2011 8:28:25 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and then you can add into it once it settles already having a nice profit b/c you shorted some into the parabolic

[Feb 13, 2011 8:28:39 PM EST]    knorr     k thx

[Feb 13, 2011 8:28:47 PM EST]    InvestorsLive np any further questions on that question?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:29:10 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: When there is a swing on scan you always say “swing on dips”. My question is what kind of dip should we be looking for? 1%,2%, etc? Just to give an example DLKM from fridays scan. Where would you of looked for entry on that friday?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:29:40 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I usually look at .05 or .10 markets if it’s over .20s

[Feb 13, 2011 8:29:47 PM EST]    InvestorsLive not really %’s I never pay attention to that

[Feb 13, 2011 8:30:01 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I look for a dip, sideways price action and a perk off it

[Feb 13, 2011 8:30:12 PM EST]    InvestorsLive the closer you buy to or near support the less risk you have

[Feb 13, 2011 8:30:19 PM EST]    InvestorsLive since you’re going to cut it off if support cracks

[Feb 13, 2011 8:30:39 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Take VSUL for example that I had suggested a few weeks back as a potential swing off dips

[Feb 13, 2011 8:30:49 PM EST]    Papaneo              how many such as this can you watch simultan/y?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:30:54 PM EST]    InvestorsLive .40s cleared… then .45s consolidate – move off .45 level … then next stop .50s – consolidated etc

[Feb 13, 2011 8:31:09 PM EST]    InvestorsLive what Papaneo?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:31:39 PM EST]    Papaneo              how many tics do you/can you handle at the same time to look for such moves and sell at right moment?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:32:01 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I don’t understand your question

[Feb 13, 2011 8:32:35 PM EST]    InvestorsLive The only stuff I ‘swing’ or suggest as ‘swings’ are OTCs so as far a ‘tics’

[Feb 13, 2011 8:32:38 PM EST]    InvestorsLive not really sure it applies

[Feb 13, 2011 8:32:42 PM EST]    Papaneo              if am looking at a number of tickers at same time and the price/actions moves up or down, am not ablt to watch more than 2 or 3 at that same time…

[Feb 13, 2011 8:32:42 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I look for charts with solid trends

[Feb 13, 2011 8:33:03 PM EST]    InvestorsLive well that’s personal I guess – it’s up to what you can watch

[Feb 13, 2011 8:33:11 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I could watch 5, I could watch 15 … it’s up to what you can handle

[Feb 13, 2011 8:33:12 PM EST]    Papaneo              tnx

[Feb 13, 2011 8:33:16 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you shouldn’t be doing more than you can

[Feb 13, 2011 8:33:35 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Another example is DUNR which I had done a recap on a while back – this one shows multiple entries and I think will help you a lot with this question (the one who asked)

[Feb 13, 2011 8:33:40 PM EST]    InvestorsLive http://www.InvestorsLive.com/2011/01/09/talk-about-a-chart-telling-the-story-dune-energy-inc-dunr-ob-the-beast/

[Feb 13, 2011 8:34:03 PM EST]    InvestorsLive As far as if you miss initial entry – what then.. makes it a good buy again?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:34:04 PM EST]    InvestorsLive etc

[Feb 13, 2011 8:34:31 PM EST]    InvestorsLive any questions regarding that one?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:34:41 PM EST]    knorr     so you wouldnt just pick it up if it dropped 5c out the gate, wait for it to consolidate so you wouldnt just pick it up if it dropped 5c out the gate, wait for it to consolidate

[Feb 13, 2011 8:35:05 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you’re referring to a swing trade? with a swing chart?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:35:11 PM EST]    knorr     yes

[Feb 13, 2011 8:35:30 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Usually the follow through would be a gap open and morning strength

[Feb 13, 2011 8:35:39 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I like to take them all off in the AM and if it holds thru the lull

[Feb 13, 2011 8:35:44 PM EST]    InvestorsLive re buy towards 2pm+ if it starts to perk off lows

[Feb 13, 2011 8:35:54 PM EST]    InvestorsLive that’s how I play most of the times

[Feb 13, 2011 8:36:15 PM EST]    InvestorsLive allows you to avoid AM sells offs etc – and If it drops .05 outta the gate I’d prob rather buy .05 higher if it looks to be gearing late day

[Feb 13, 2011 8:36:21 PM EST]    InvestorsLive rather buy a strong chart on a swing

[Feb 13, 2011 8:36:54 PM EST]    knorr     ok so you usually wont hold them for a week or so but insted hold o/n sell am and rebuy correct?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:37:13 PM EST]    InvestorsLive most times – stuff like EARH tho and stuff I have a low avg different story

[Feb 13, 2011 8:37:22 PM EST]    InvestorsLive those are only for the ‘real’ pumpers that I can ‘trust’

[Feb 13, 2011 8:37:45 PM EST]    InvestorsLive if it’s just a regular trending stock I’d rather play the AM gap sell off let it consolidate and then rebuy into close below or near same price

[Feb 13, 2011 8:38:17 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: This question is play specific, on 2/10 CPSL was on scan for a long after a pull then r/g. The stock did just that and I took it for a long @ 2.17. It kinda stalled there for 15m or so, hit a high of 2.19 but didnt rip. You posted a little while after that youd like it for a long later on r/g. I ended up taking a loss when it didnt hold 2.10. My question is where should my stop of been on that play? When it didnt rip at r/g? I ad plenty of time to let it go at 2.15 but just wasnt sure where my stop should of been >>> ANSWER: http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/5388/cpsl.png

[Feb 13, 2011 8:38:43 PM EST]    InvestorsLive tyguy actually took this trade that day

[Feb 13, 2011 8:38:48 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I made a mark on the chart

[Feb 13, 2011 8:39:05 PM EST]    InvestorsLive basically these plays aren’t “rip” trades – but more so “good trading”

[Feb 13, 2011 8:39:10 PM EST]    InvestorsLive where if you can’t find any trades outta the gate

[Feb 13, 2011 8:39:22 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you can resort back to these highly probable trades off a pull back

[Feb 13, 2011 8:39:27 PM EST]    InvestorsLive since its an uptrending stock

[Feb 13, 2011 8:40:07 PM EST]    InvestorsLive so it started to move sideways sub $2.10 … broke off I’d have a stop LOD there and went red/green and popped – not a big move but predictable

[Feb 13, 2011 8:40:09 PM EST]    InvestorsLive is the point

[Feb 13, 2011 8:40:30 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I would have let it test green hold a few times and if it didn’t hold then sell it off before it went red on me

[Feb 13, 2011 8:41:30 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Any questions on that one?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:41:37 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Next has some beautiful charts

[Feb 13, 2011 8:41:41 PM EST]    InvestorsLive my text book gearing formation

[Feb 13, 2011 8:41:55 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: On Feb 1 for ECTE you said very nice 1min gearing/perking setup memorize this stuff. Do you mean the 1 min chart for that day only? Or 1min chart from Jan 26 to Feb 1 when is was consolidating?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:42:04 PM EST]    InvestorsLive http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/2102/ecte1.png

[Feb 13, 2011 8:42:11 PM EST]    InvestorsLive http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/5314/ecte2.png

[Feb 13, 2011 8:42:36 PM EST]    InvestorsLive ecte2.png lets look at first

[Feb 13, 2011 8:42:49 PM EST]    InvestorsLive almost like that intraday consolidation I like – but on the daily chart – therefore strong breakout potential

[Feb 13, 2011 8:42:53 PM EST]    InvestorsLive this one on scan for the breakout

[Feb 13, 2011 8:43:24 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I didn’t capture the move on ecte2.png but

[Feb 13, 2011 8:43:28 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you’ll see the SAME set up

[Feb 13, 2011 8:43:30 PM EST]    InvestorsLive a week prior

[Feb 13, 2011 8:43:40 PM EST]    InvestorsLive late Jan

[Feb 13, 2011 8:43:44 PM EST]    InvestorsLive setting up just below $2.50

[Feb 13, 2011 8:44:01 PM EST]    InvestorsLive now look at ecte1.png

[Feb 13, 2011 8:44:23 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and you’ll see the intraday breakout – and let’s say you missed that breakout .. can you came back later on

[Feb 13, 2011 8:44:36 PM EST]    InvestorsLive it consolidated and started gearing/perking for the next breakout

[Feb 13, 2011 8:44:38 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and off it went

[Feb 13, 2011 8:44:53 PM EST]    InvestorsLive so 2 of my favorite charts which we’ve covered a zillion times but they don’t get old and you should all be famliar with

[Feb 13, 2011 8:45:04 PM EST]    Tommy123          If you can say how many chart formats do you memorize that we should know?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:45:40 PM EST]    InvestorsLive just the 3 fav’s

[Feb 13, 2011 8:46:46 PM EST]    Tommy123          Where cn I find the 3 favs so i can memorize them. I know u listed them here but can I find them all in place and compare them.

[Feb 13, 2011 8:47:07 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Yes it’s the powerpoint I suggested you read labeled 3 Favorite set ups

[Feb 13, 2011 8:47:28 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: Can you touch on how to keep a good balance between over trading and trading nothing at all after a tough loss, or even a great gain. Thanks

[Feb 13, 2011 8:47:33 PM EST]    Tommy123          I did it guess I didnt get those were the 3 favs my fault sorry.

[Feb 13, 2011 8:47:49 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Focus on GOOD trades

[Feb 13, 2011 8:47:52 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I don’t trade everything

[Feb 13, 2011 8:47:57 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I alert some I don’t trade

[Feb 13, 2011 8:48:13 PM EST]    InvestorsLive if I see a good trade forming but I have enough on my plate I’m not going to add another trade in that I can’t manage

[Feb 13, 2011 8:48:32 PM EST]    InvestorsLive After a tough loss – go back to basics

[Feb 13, 2011 8:48:38 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Don’t try to make it back in one trade

[Feb 13, 2011 8:48:51 PM EST]    InvestorsLive if you do that – normally you’re in 2-3 maybe 4x the size you want to be to try to make it back

[Feb 13, 2011 8:49:09 PM EST]    InvestorsLive that’s cool but – that also means if you’re WRONG your loss will be amplified 2-3 maybe 4x

[Feb 13, 2011 8:49:19 PM EST]    InvestorsLive are you cool with that? … if not stop over trading and pushing the limits

[Feb 13, 2011 8:49:47 PM EST]    InvestorsLive that’s the simple answer – but look it happens .. and honestly it takes a nice loss to finally get to your head that you need to pay attention to your rules

[Feb 13, 2011 8:50:29 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Any further questions regarding that one?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:50:56 PM EST]    InvestorsLive the next are related to gap plays from this subscriber

[Feb 13, 2011 8:50:57 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: How do you determine your entry point in a stocks that gaps up? Specially if you are watching multiple of them.

[Feb 13, 2011 8:51:13 PM EST]    InvestorsLive It’s all related to home work

[Feb 13, 2011 8:51:23 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you’ve got a plan going into the day if it’s on your watch list

[Feb 13, 2011 8:51:48 PM EST]    InvestorsLive whether its prior resistance, a paraboic breakout that the plan is if it pops $1.50 outta the gate you know it’s gonna pull

[Feb 13, 2011 8:51:55 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you can always start into it – stick to your plan

[Feb 13, 2011 8:52:10 PM EST]    InvestorsLive if you don’t have a plan on it out of the gate – then just scalp it if you see the trade, or avoid it

[Feb 13, 2011 8:52:17 PM EST]    InvestorsLive most cases I suggest avoiding it until you’re familiar

[Feb 13, 2011 8:52:48 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: If you are playing multiple stocks at once, do you usually take your profits around the 10 O’clock reversal or just place a stop at their entry points and let them run?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:52:52 PM EST]    Tommy123          How do u determine that a stock will gap up? Meaning what tells you that u can expect a gap up?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:53:20 PM EST]    InvestorsLive we aren’t predicting stock gap ups Tommy – pre market action tells you if they are gapping or not

[Feb 13, 2011 8:53:45 PM EST]    Tommy123          But like TSAS u were telling me since it had a flat line it will gap.

[Feb 13, 2011 8:54:00 PM EST]    InvestorsLive well I didn’t say it will gap

[Feb 13, 2011 8:54:10 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you asked if TSAS was a good gapper after market

[Feb 13, 2011 8:54:11 PM EST]    Tommy123          *might

[Feb 13, 2011 8:54:15 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I said since it had flat line consolidation

[Feb 13, 2011 8:54:20 PM EST]    InvestorsLive it may gap up and it wasn’t selling off

[Feb 13, 2011 8:54:27 PM EST]    InvestorsLive his questions are related to gap ups in Nasdaq

[Feb 13, 2011 8:54:29 PM EST]    InvestorsLive not OTCs

[Feb 13, 2011 8:54:47 PM EST]    InvestorsLive OTCs are just like I always explain – usually carry their momentum thru to the next day – thats it nothing more complex

[Feb 13, 2011 8:55:04 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: If you are playing multiple stocks at once, do you usually take your profits around the 10 O’clock reversal or just place a stop at their entry points and let them run?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:55:22 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I don’t follow a “10 oclock reversal” or anything like that I just trade what I see

[Feb 13, 2011 8:55:25 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and I suggest you do the same

[Feb 13, 2011 8:55:37 PM EST]    InvestorsLive as you know I usually take profits as soon as I get them

[Feb 13, 2011 8:55:48 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I’m not as good as Muddy or others who let them run all day

[Feb 13, 2011 8:55:51 PM EST]    InvestorsLive but I also play bigger

[Feb 13, 2011 8:56:00 PM EST]    InvestorsLive if I was playing smaller size I’d have more patience and a wider stop

[Feb 13, 2011 8:56:15 PM EST]    InvestorsLive so my style of trading – quite simply .. is I look for THE move

[Feb 13, 2011 8:56:32 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I’m not looking for – what can I jump in and hold all day and sell near close – I’m just not good at that

[Feb 13, 2011 8:56:55 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: If you entered into a stock and it was a gap and go and finished the day very strong would you exist the play at the end of the day. Or carry it forward to the next day?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:57:09 PM EST]    InvestorsLive yes on OTC no on Nasdaq

[Feb 13, 2011 8:57:31 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Nadsaq’s are unpredictable, what happens if Egypt blows up, you’re “HOT” stock will gap down with the rest of the market

[Feb 13, 2011 8:57:42 PM EST]    InvestorsLive whereas OTCs dont really pay attention to anything

[Feb 13, 2011 8:58:10 PM EST]    InvestorsLive only stuff I would hold over most times is shorts on over extensions/breakdowns

[Feb 13, 2011 8:58:18 PM EST]    InvestorsLive (obv not if earnings over night or pharma)

[Feb 13, 2011 8:58:34 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: In regard to controling the risk factor. Do you recommend placing a mental stop-loss or a hard stop-loss? And if it is the later what do you think of trailing stops?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:59:06 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Everytime I’ve tried to set a trailing stop I stop out right away lol – so can’t help you there – but

[Feb 13, 2011 8:59:22 PM EST]    InvestorsLive as far as controlling risk, are you good at manging positions, would you sell if it started to break down and follow the plan you have?

[Feb 13, 2011 8:59:28 PM EST]    InvestorsLive if yes then use mental stops

[Feb 13, 2011 8:59:32 PM EST]    InvestorsLive if no then use hard stops

[Feb 13, 2011 8:59:44 PM EST]    InvestorsLive that’s up to you, I can’t tell you what to do there only can suggest

[Feb 13, 2011 9:00:06 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: I have heard over and over to hide the P/L while an individual is trading. Can you kindly elaborate further on that statement.

[Feb 13, 2011 9:00:20 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I watch my P and L after all, what are we trading for?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:00:31 PM EST]    InvestorsLive just for fun, the unknown?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:01:02 PM EST]    InvestorsLive if P and L makes ur trading worse/better than sure – again that’s more of a question that’s personal to each

[Feb 13, 2011 9:01:25 PM EST]    InvestorsLive king12 – that sums up ur questions asked – any further from you/follow ups on them?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:02:42 PM EST]    Papaneo              have you seen more than one ‘gway’ in your career?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:02:57 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Yea that’s all I was shouting about at .80s

[Feb 13, 2011 9:02:59 PM EST]    InvestorsLive was who it was

[Feb 13, 2011 9:03:00 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and their lasta

[Feb 13, 2011 9:04:24 PM EST]    king12x Thank you for your answers!

[Feb 13, 2011 9:04:33 PM EST]    InvestorsLive QUESTION: My question is what is the fastest and best way for a newbie to learn how to trade. I understand that we have on the job training with IL ,Muddy and Laura in the room but I was wondering since IL has such a unique trading strategy that seems to work real well. How did you learn to trade IL did you read or study any material that you can suggest? I try to follow you in chat all the time reading all you have to say but at times its hard for me to understand how you see things the way you do(i guess its ue to my novice trading). Thanks and thanks to all the moderators for a great Job.

[Feb 13, 2011 9:04:59 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Just trial and error – and go with what works the best then venture out

[Feb 13, 2011 9:05:15 PM EST]    InvestorsLive As I showed tonight and you saw on ECTE

[Feb 13, 2011 9:05:19 PM EST]    InvestorsLive it’s the same thing every time

[Feb 13, 2011 9:05:27 PM EST]    InvestorsLive same chart over and over that I like

[Feb 13, 2011 9:05:39 PM EST]    InvestorsLive the only way it wouldn’t make sense for people is if you over complicate it

[Feb 13, 2011 9:05:46 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and no I’ve read no books

[Feb 13, 2011 9:06:02 PM EST]    InvestorsLive well I lied, I skimmed “how to make $ in stocks” which was nothing like what we do

[Feb 13, 2011 9:06:10 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I heard Brian Shannon’s book is good and that’s about it

[Feb 13, 2011 9:06:41 PM EST]    InvestorsLive anyhow – that’s the questions for tonight – can open it if up you guys have questions for Me Mud Laura or any one

[Feb 13, 2011 9:07:00 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Got this question late “Can you take us what’s going on your head with GLER on Feb. 11” not sure the question here tho

[Feb 13, 2011 9:07:27 PM EST]    Papaneo              your swing trades, do you go for days, weeks or do you hold for longer – probably depending on tech/chart I guess…

[Feb 13, 2011 9:07:35 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I guess answer is my plan is a panic drop sub .01 on Monday hopefully re: GLER question

[Feb 13, 2011 9:07:51 PM EST]    InvestorsLive yea I rarely make it a day or two, and will always re buy if it continues to hold

[Feb 13, 2011 9:07:55 PM EST]    InvestorsLive but I like cash and profits

[Feb 13, 2011 9:08:11 PM EST]    InvestorsLive so if daytrading is working and no shortage of profits you won’t see me ‘swinging’ too many OTCs

[Feb 13, 2011 9:09:28 PM EST]    Professor            What data feed is needed to see MMs for OTC/BB

[Feb 13, 2011 9:09:33 PM EST]    Professor            ?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:10:01 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Level 2 Professor

[Feb 13, 2011 9:10:33 PM EST]    JNORDG000        well what I meant was what did you like about that chart? that i broke .02 and had volume? did you average in or did you do a smash and grab… when it broke 3 did you sell all or any?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:11:16 PM EST]    king12x IL do you have any update on WTC firm?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:11:21 PM EST]    Professor            From what vendor/brokers. I have Tradestation/Sterling at present.

[Feb 13, 2011 9:11:43 PM EST]    InvestorsLive king12x- I haven’t spoken to Dave in a week or 2, just call them if any issues or questions they pick right up

[Feb 13, 2011 9:11:59 PM EST]    king12x alright, thanks

[Feb 13, 2011 9:12:03 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Professor – EquityFeed, SpeedTrader (DASTrader) bunch others

[Feb 13, 2011 9:12:48 PM EST]    InvestorsLive JNORDG000 – it had a nice morning move and continuation – busted out mid morning and held .03 a few times but fortunately for the trader it gave a clear sign that 03 was the support and if it cracked

[Feb 13, 2011 9:12:50 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you gotta be out

[Feb 13, 2011 9:13:04 PM EST]    InvestorsLive there wasn’t a time to ‘average in’ on GLER

[Feb 13, 2011 9:13:08 PM EST]    InvestorsLive it just popped outta the gate

[Feb 13, 2011 9:13:21 PM EST]    InvestorsLive it was follow through momentum, not a new trade

[Feb 13, 2011 9:13:33 PM EST]    InvestorsLive but obviously looking at chart from the day before where many road it up from sub penny

[Feb 13, 2011 9:13:36 PM EST]    Professor            WTC is shuttering at the end of month. Dave is working on some “alternatives.” That’s it for now.

[Feb 13, 2011 9:13:48 PM EST]    InvestorsLive you can’t just be long and holding – otherwise a good way to lose your shirt not taking into consideration the recent move

[Feb 13, 2011 9:14:11 PM EST]    C2CFinancial       will RAPT really be a huge short squeeze?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:14:28 PM EST]    JNORDG000        I if you missed the breakout on GLER it would have been a great idea not to chase?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:14:29 PM EST]    InvestorsLive hopefully?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:14:33 PM EST]    InvestorsLive re: C2C

[Feb 13, 2011 9:14:53 PM EST]    InvestorsLive JNORDG000 – well you’ve got to take into consideration the move the day before

[Feb 13, 2011 9:14:54 PM EST]    C2CFinancial       did you see the article bestdamnpennystocks put out IL?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:15:01 PM EST]    abulloch               re NRTLQ : interesting spike a week or so ago. Was that a random/momentary spike of interest, do oyu think? Worth keeping an eye open? or just enjoy it and forget it?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:15:13 PM EST]    InvestorsLive C2C – we go over this stuff every single time, why is it always new

[Feb 13, 2011 9:15:27 PM EST]    InvestorsLive the largest short squeeze in history we get these types of emails literally once a week

[Feb 13, 2011 9:16:04 PM EST]    InvestorsLive do I think it’s going to rip more? yes … do I think WDCO is short based on how he was acting on Friday, yes… do I think it’s rippable .. yes… do I think it’ll be one to def watch thru the day yes

[Feb 13, 2011 9:16:14 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Am I reading the emails and drinking Kool Aid .. no

[Feb 13, 2011 9:16:17 PM EST]    JNORDG000        ok a continuation… from feb 10… thanks

[Feb 13, 2011 9:16:41 PM EST]    InvestorsLive abulloch – the big move week or 2 back? That was related to a WSJ mention

[Feb 13, 2011 9:16:55 PM EST]    C2CFinancial       wat about EARH? real boring but keeping a base…any follow through in ur opinion?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:17:01 PM EST]    abulloch               OK – brief news item, then

[Feb 13, 2011 9:17:43 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Beacon and co pumped it and like I said Friday and tweeted .. thinking this week is the week it moves considering Fridays action

[Feb 13, 2011 9:18:00 PM EST]    InvestorsLive abulloch – yes WSJ mention – who knows what it said I didn’t read

[Feb 13, 2011 9:18:08 PM EST]    InvestorsLive TradeHawk mentioned in chat and it ripped into close

[Feb 13, 2011 9:18:14 PM EST]    InvestorsLive follow thru in AM then back to sell off

[Feb 13, 2011 9:19:32 PM EST]    chunger               IL: How do you feel confident when a stock you’re watching is at it’s base?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:19:36 PM EST]    TradeHawk         same on BLOAQ

[Feb 13, 2011 9:19:51 PM EST]    InvestorsLive chunger let it tell you

[Feb 13, 2011 9:19:55 PM EST]    Ohhoshow          what was this in relation to il (Feb 13-21:17) InvestorsLive: Beacon and co pumped it and like I said Friday and tweeted .. thinking this week is the week it moves considering Fridays action?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:19:58 PM EST]    InvestorsLive let it base and watch for the perk off support

[Feb 13, 2011 9:20:02 PM EST]    Ohhoshow          what stock

[Feb 13, 2011 9:20:08 PM EST]    InvestorsLive EARH Ohho

[Feb 13, 2011 9:20:11 PM EST]    Ohhoshow          thanks

[Feb 13, 2011 9:20:21 PM EST]    chunger               should I see volume with that perk?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:21:46 PM EST]    InvestorsLive yes chunger most times for a strong reversal but more so like the ECTE example I gave

[Feb 13, 2011 9:21:54 PM EST]    InvestorsLive take that sideways consolidation and pretend its a bottom

[Feb 13, 2011 9:21:59 PM EST]    InvestorsLive sideways price action and the perk off it

[Feb 13, 2011 9:22:04 PM EST]    InvestorsLive doesn’t need a lot of volume

[Feb 13, 2011 9:22:16 PM EST]    InvestorsLive soemtimes a lot of volume with no perk up will end up being another top

[Feb 13, 2011 9:22:46 PM EST]    chunger               thanks

[Feb 13, 2011 9:23:04 PM EST]    Banta2000           IL, I have been very interested in understanding Level 2. I know it’s important and many momentum traders rely big on it to enter/exit a trade. Where can I find more information on how to use Level 2? Have you covered it in any previous seminars? I know basically what Level 2 is and how to read it, what I haven’t understood is the “patterns” that you look for as you read the tape. Is there time to get into that now?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:23:16 PM EST]    abulloch               yup, that NRTLQ looked a fmailiar pattern: day 1 = spike of interest (steep rise), then pullback, day 2 = follow up gap up to lower high around 10.00 am, then decline and steady collapse from there…

[Feb 13, 2011 9:23:26 PM EST]    InvestorsLive Not really – Level 2 is more about watching it with your trading over and over

[Feb 13, 2011 9:23:29 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and becoming familiar with it

[Feb 13, 2011 9:23:38 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I could tell you a million things and it’d only confuse you 10 fold

[Feb 13, 2011 9:24:04 PM EST]    InvestorsLive and then you’d start seeing certain MMs and make assumptions that negatively impact your trading just because you see it and think “oh well so and so is on offer – must be bad” etc

[Feb 13, 2011 9:24:45 PM EST]    InvestorsLive I watch common market makers we see in normal pumps, watch over extended stocks big promo stuff for other big MM shorters like BMIC NOBL FANC etc

[Feb 13, 2011 9:25:19 PM EST]    InvestorsLive but as same time if you see FANC on a stock at .05 you’re gonna be like it’s a short! and let it change ur trading strat when in reality – could just be one and only market maker in that stock

[Feb 13, 2011 9:25:37 PM EST]    InvestorsLive like VERT everyone sees VERT on some and thinks bad

[Feb 13, 2011 9:25:42 PM EST]    InvestorsLive it’s all about what they are doing

[Feb 13, 2011 9:25:49 PM EST]    InvestorsLive are they unloading? or are they making a market

[Feb 13, 2011 9:26:49 PM EST]    whatup                Is there a way to tell thats not confusing if they are making a market?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:27:08 PM EST]    Banta2000           I see… so not much material to get started and “memorize patterns”, right? I guess the “patterns” that I am refering to, is when people tell me they watch for large imbalances between the bid and the ask offer. Particularly for Nasdaq and NYC stocks. I believe some traders look for signals to know if a certain resistance/support level will break

[Feb 13, 2011 9:27:25 PM EST]    InvestorsLive yea are they playing both sides? is there a trend?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:27:34 PM EST]    Professor            Is L2 mandatory to do sub’s? Is the lack of it a knockout?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:27:54 PM EST]    InvestorsLive yea Banta it’s about watching it and getting famliar with it… you’ll see over and over similiar things and be able to put it together as I did

[Feb 13, 2011 9:30:05 PM EST]    whatup                so you have to match a pair of buyer to seller for just a few or a lot of mm’s….establishing if they are making a market?

[Feb 13, 2011 9:30:42 PM EST]    InvestorsLive just watch EARH tomorrow
