Member Q and A – OTCs, Bounces, Thinning Up

by | May 16, 2011

[May 15, 2011 8:01:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive welcome all – new members welcome too – same format as always we’ll go over each question … answered it… if any questions regarding that question .. ask… if not we’ll go to next

[May 15, 2011 8:01:30 PM EDT] InvestorsLive then we’ll open it up

[May 15, 2011 8:01:47 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so simply put, don’t ask random questions in the middle of seminar – we’ll open up at end

[May 15, 2011 8:02:27 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Not a whole bunch of questions I think many are reading the new members page which is good -really brings everyone on the same page fast…

[May 15, 2011 8:02:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Is it worth it for us to keep an eye on the TICK and TRIN when it comes to deciding when and whether to buy or short? Or are they sort of extraneous for this sort of trading?

[May 15, 2011 8:02:54 PM EDT] johnc99                Start typing here

[May 15, 2011 8:02:58 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Most of the stocks we trade having nothing to do with the underlying market – we’re trading high daily rangers that have a life of their own. You saw ABIO on Friday a typical former runner we all are familiar with (at least those who have been in chat for a few months and even if not … as I alerted Friday it was a former runner) but … look at the market and look at its range. It doesn’t matter.

[May 15, 2011 8:03:55 PM EDT] InvestorsLive to be perfectly honest over the last 2 weeks I have no idea where the Dow even is… and for the first time in like 6 months.. our “niche” has been so hot there is absolutely no reason to care about the market as a whole

[May 15, 2011 8:04:10 PM EDT] InvestorsLive yes .. at times our ‘niche’ (ie: high dayrangers + hot OTCs) slow down…

[May 15, 2011 8:04:51 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and we start looking for opportunity based on high day range stocks which may be fueled by the mkt one way or another… but . . havent had to do that since the CENX/LVS days

[May 15, 2011 8:05:21 PM EDT] InvestorsLive for those who don’t know TRIN/TICK or whatever is a measure of volatility of some sort I think? someone probably knows better than me – but no .. in our niche.. not important

[May 15, 2011 8:05:28 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any questions on that topic?

[May 15, 2011 8:05:52 PM EDT] Rodg3r  no.

[May 15, 2011 8:06:01 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Rodg says NO .. we move on!

[May 15, 2011 8:06:06 PM EDT] Rodg3r  🙂

[May 15, 2011 8:06:30 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTIONS: Also, at what point does someone cross the line from rationally acting on talk in the chat room, to just plain old chasing?

[May 15, 2011 8:06:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive If you miss it like I went over last seminar all you have to do is let it set up again, give yourself a reason to buy rather than just a random chase. Have the battle of trading is knowing when to sell (whether it’s cutting the loss or taking the gain) so you need a familiar set up that we cover and is covered on the new members page and suggested reading – so as far as crossing the line, I’d say crossing the line is randomly buying without a plan in mind. Other than that, fair game.

[May 15, 2011 8:07:58 PM EDT] InvestorsLive does that makes sense? questions?

[May 15, 2011 8:08:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive many times I’ll miss the first move…

[May 15, 2011 8:08:19 PM EDT] InvestorsLive then I’ll wait for it to set up again with a set up I am familiar with

[May 15, 2011 8:08:57 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Stocks breakout all the time.. many times I like to see them prove their breakout first … then pull back prove they hold a higher high THEN long it for the breakout… so no I don’t always get the first breakout

[May 15, 2011 8:09:17 PM EDT] InvestorsLive The main thing with out niche is.. there’s ALWAYS another opportunity

[May 15, 2011 8:09:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive don’t force a trade just because it’s bouncing around and you don’t want to miss it .. it’s ok to miss ir

[May 15, 2011 8:09:34 PM EDT] InvestorsLive it*

[May 15, 2011 8:09:38 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any questions?

[May 15, 2011 8:09:56 PM EDT] Rodg3r  (no)

[May 15, 2011 8:09:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive haha

[May 15, 2011 8:10:14 PM EDT] InvestorsLive lets try this.. anyone awake besides Rodg3r?

[May 15, 2011 8:10:20 PM EDT] BNGESG               yes

[May 15, 2011 8:10:21 PM EDT] karmakazi            yesw

[May 15, 2011 8:10:22 PM EDT] idempotent        yep

[May 15, 2011 8:10:24 PM EDT] Thatcher              si

[May 15, 2011 8:10:24 PM EDT] simonj1                hi

[May 15, 2011 8:10:29 PM EDT] procat   yepppers

[May 15, 2011 8:10:32 PM EDT] ed2011 yes

[May 15, 2011 8:10:32 PM EDT] av8tor   yo

[May 15, 2011 8:10:39 PM EDT] kakukaki              yup

[May 15, 2011 8:10:46 PM EDT] abulloch               huh?

[May 15, 2011 8:10:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ok now we’re talking – better here u guys yapping and asking after I go thru these questions!

[May 15, 2011 8:10:49 PM EDT] angelor Rodg3r will do the next seminar. Lol

[May 15, 2011 8:10:49 PM EDT] nube48 yes Iearned the hard way and got burnt by chasing

[May 15, 2011 8:10:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive here = hear

[May 15, 2011 8:11:00 PM EDT] luckykip                Roger’s doing a nice job for us 🙂

[May 15, 2011 8:11:02 PM EDT] idempotent        what Rodg sez

[May 15, 2011 8:11:09 PM EDT] Rodg3r  uh oh.

[May 15, 2011 8:11:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: On JAMN, I believe it was Thursday there was a big pull. People were watching to buy on the dip. There were two or three points where it looked like it might turn but it did not. You knew not to buy on those. Was it because the volume was not right or were there other indicators that told you to wait.

[May 15, 2011 8:11:41 PM EDT] InvestorsLive (btw I have my prepared answer that I post then I break it down in case u haven’t noticed)

[May 15, 2011 8:11:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive There wasn’t really any panic it was just a pull back off highs, you can’t buy a ‘pull back’ on a stock that is up from $1 to $6 in a week … you need a real panic drop where you are going to have action. There was two points which were potential bounces but the volume never really picked up too large, and as you saw when I alerted they gave clear signs that there was more to come – if the stock doesn’t rip back up right away you need to be on the proactive side and lock in, cut it off and wait for the panic drop. As you saw on the real bounce as soon as it turned bam! Couldn’t fill for a good .20 cents

[May 15, 2011 8:12:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ok so bounes are a big part of my income .. seriously in 2010

[May 15, 2011 8:13:12 PM EDT] InvestorsLive those are the BEST play I am absolutely great at.. only thing I can “brag” about

[May 15, 2011 8:13:27 PM EDT] InvestorsLive sometimes yes I am early – depending on my confidence level is really what I hold/size I play

[May 15, 2011 8:13:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive most of the times if I say I am in a starter that means I’m in relatively small

[May 15, 2011 8:13:52 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so if I usually buy 10k shares on something I’m prob in 2k shares

[May 15, 2011 8:14:53 PM EDT] InvestorsLive which is what I went over last seminar which is why I had to “yell” at chat on Thursday? with all the peeps buying bounce.. was only 3 .. but you know

[May 15, 2011 8:14:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive “blowin account” etc

[May 15, 2011 8:15:06 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if you’re blowing your account on .30 cents something is wrong

[May 15, 2011 8:15:26 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so JAMN runs up $1 – 2 .. consolidates

[May 15, 2011 8:15:51 PM EDT] InvestorsLive starts to break out last few days runs straight to $6.35. pulls back.. the one thing that happens more often than not … is a fake bounce

[May 15, 2011 8:15:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive on a move like this.. of this size

[May 15, 2011 8:16:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive the key to bounces is how fast it reverses off the low, does it rip back up .10-.20 cents and “thin up” (thin up: I’ll cover again later)

[May 15, 2011 8:16:51 PM EDT] InvestorsLive or does it bounce .05 cents and then volume still ripping the offers but no real movement?

[May 15, 2011 8:17:07 PM EDT] InvestorsLive usually you’ll see me mention, “not sure this is bounce, be careful” etc

[May 15, 2011 8:17:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive the reason I say this is because… when a panic happens and a bounce it usually rips back up .10-.20 cents on “air” and then starts to slowly trend back up

[May 15, 2011 8:17:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if it bounces and then hits a wall 5 cents higher

[May 15, 2011 8:17:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive you need to be PROACTIVE

[May 15, 2011 8:17:50 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and use that volume to exit

[May 15, 2011 8:18:20 PM EDT] InvestorsLive you saw that boucne off 4.30 range

[May 15, 2011 8:18:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I bought the last time 4.33

[May 15, 2011 8:18:28 PM EDT] InvestorsLive then within literally 2 min

[May 15, 2011 8:18:33 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we’re at 4.50 and thin to 4.70s

[May 15, 2011 8:18:57 PM EDT] InvestorsLive compared to where I bouhgt the starter at 4.78 … bounced to 4.82-85 immediately.. bunch of vol traded but that was it …

[May 15, 2011 8:19:17 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any questions on the bounce play stuff ?

[May 15, 2011 8:19:26 PM EDT] simonj1                no good stuff thanks

[May 15, 2011 8:19:31 PM EDT] InvestorsLive the main thing like I said LAST seminar … is DONT play it if unsure WATCH WATCH WATCH

[May 15, 2011 8:19:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I will be 100% honest.. when I first started

[May 15, 2011 8:19:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive a “mentor” to the bounce plays was a really good friend now . “modernrock” on ihub

[May 15, 2011 8:20:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive he’d call these bounces much like I do.. and you’d try to get same price and be like .. no way .. hes lying.. how did he fill

[May 15, 2011 8:20:37 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and over time… that’s exactly what you learn.. is why you don’t fill … why the routes were locked

[May 15, 2011 8:20:58 PM EDT] InvestorsLive once everyone realizes its bottom… everyone wants in… now you have to compete with every other trader and their mom to get a fill

[May 15, 2011 8:21:03 PM EDT] InvestorsLive you have to be one step ahead

[May 15, 2011 8:21:13 PM EDT] InvestorsLive BUT with that… sometimes your early (the risk)

[May 15, 2011 8:22:07 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so .. just watching a bounce play… believer it or not .. helps you

[May 15, 2011 8:22:22 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Questions about short selling. I have seen some folks in chat room say they try to get a stock to short, but can’t get the order filled. Is it normally easy to get the stock, or is it difficult. What scenarios make it easy/difficult?

[May 15, 2011 8:22:39 PM EDT] InvestorsLive They may have just missed the short before it dropped, in which case yes they couldn’t get a fill, also some of the new rules against short selling where you can’t hit the bid if it’s down x% like on OXGN Friday .. it’s possible that these new rules could cause no fill, I had trouble with some of Friday because I could only add on upticks when I really just wanted to add because it was about to tank.

[May 15, 2011 8:23:58 PM EDT] InvestorsLive the other thing here is – brokers some have good borrows some don’t

[May 15, 2011 8:24:15 PM EDT] InvestorsLive IB great. Broad Street has been great lately… Speed is good on request

[May 15, 2011 8:24:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive etc

[May 15, 2011 8:24:25 PM EDT] karen99                i read somewhere that cant short a stock if it is going down? is that definitely true?

[May 15, 2011 8:24:33 PM EDT] InvestorsLive no

[May 15, 2011 8:24:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive theres a downtick rule I don’t even know the definition but I’ll give you an example

[May 15, 2011 8:25:01 PM EDT] InvestorsLive OXGN .. $5.50

[May 15, 2011 8:25:06 PM EDT] InvestorsLive loosk like its about to take a sh*t

[May 15, 2011 8:25:11 PM EDT] InvestorsLive its $5.54 or so

[May 15, 2011 8:25:14 PM EDT] InvestorsLive offers getting huge etc

[May 15, 2011 8:25:19 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so you want to short limit $5.50

[May 15, 2011 8:25:30 PM EDT] InvestorsLive you put the short limit 5.50… well guess what….

[May 15, 2011 8:25:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive you can’t short bid cuz of the new rules x% down or whatever for the day

[May 15, 2011 8:25:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so you’re just added to the offer

[May 15, 2011 8:26:08 PM EDT] InvestorsLive only way you fill is on the uptick, so if … Joe Smoe decides to buy 10k on the offer.. you’ll fill

[May 15, 2011 8:26:13 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but if you want to short the panic, you can’t

[May 15, 2011 8:26:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive make sense? questions?

[May 15, 2011 8:26:54 PM EDT] MR1210                On the topic of routes, when placing a limit order through DAS Trader do you leave the route at LIMIT, or do you pick from the others, ARCA, NITE, etc.?

[May 15, 2011 8:27:20 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I use ARCA

[May 15, 2011 8:27:31 PM EDT] InvestorsLive u can use LIMIT u can use INET EDGX etc

[May 15, 2011 8:27:39 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I just assume use an ECN

[May 15, 2011 8:27:44 PM EDT] karen99                makes sense. but until I put in the order I won’t know if it will be filled? is there anyway to know before hand?

[May 15, 2011 8:27:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive the difference is literally cents

[May 15, 2011 8:28:23 PM EDT] InvestorsLive no .. karen u can know before. IB shows a symbol for stocks you can’t short the bid on

[May 15, 2011 8:28:38 PM EDT] InvestorsLive also I think it’s stocks down X% … I’d have to look it up

[May 15, 2011 8:28:44 PM EDT] Laura lot of other brokers you can’t know tho

[May 15, 2011 8:28:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but if it’s 10%? (anyone can help me here)

[May 15, 2011 8:28:53 PM EDT] InvestorsLive you can just assume you can’t

[May 15, 2011 8:29:00 PM EDT] av8tor   I think its 5%

[May 15, 2011 8:29:24 PM EDT] Laura dunno, but I usually get filled shorting on the bid, just takes a few

[May 15, 2011 8:29:34 PM EDT] Laura don’t pay ECN fees with IB so no worries

[May 15, 2011 8:29:34 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that’s because you’re added to the offer

[May 15, 2011 8:29:51 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if you short the bid and don’t “flash fill” ie: immediately

[May 15, 2011 8:29:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive you’re added to offer

[May 15, 2011 8:29:59 PM EDT] Laura don’t much care on Naz stocks really

[May 15, 2011 8:30:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and that’s only on the new rule

[May 15, 2011 8:30:07 PM EDT] InvestorsLive yup exactly

[May 15, 2011 8:30:16 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any more questions related to that subject?

[May 15, 2011 8:30:21 PM EDT] Ironman               Specifically, the Rule requires that a trading center establish, maintain, and enforce written policies and procedures reasonably designed to prevent the execution or display of a short sale order of a covered security at a price that is less than or equal to the current national best bid if the price of that covered security decreases by 10% or more from the covered security’s closing price as determined by the listing market for the covered security as of the end of regular trading hours on the prior day

[May 15, 2011 8:30:28 PM EDT] Ironman               its 10%

[May 15, 2011 8:31:07 PM EDT] karen99                okay, i am getting it. I will have to try it and see how I do

[May 15, 2011 8:31:15 PM EDT] InvestorsLive alrighty!

[May 15, 2011 8:31:28 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: Let say, I get the stock, Is there a timeframe that you have before you have to “buy” the stock back (hopefully at a lower price) to return it? What determines when you have to return the stock? For example do you have to do this within hours or days?

[May 15, 2011 8:31:29 PM EDT] Thatcher              wait

[May 15, 2011 8:31:41 PM EDT] Thatcher              eh i’ll save my q for later

[May 15, 2011 8:31:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ut oh

[May 15, 2011 8:31:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive go head

[May 15, 2011 8:31:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive haha

[May 15, 2011 8:31:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive go ahead*

[May 15, 2011 8:31:49 PM EDT] Thatcher              lol ok

[May 15, 2011 8:32:12 PM EDT] InvestorsLive getting a work out tonight.. between green and blue text …. thx Thatcher 😛

[May 15, 2011 8:32:21 PM EDT] Thatcher              TOS says they automatically route you to the best ECN for a given buy. is that true or just BS, and I should be trying to route manually?

[May 15, 2011 8:32:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive TOS just has an auto route

[May 15, 2011 8:32:57 PM EDT] InvestorsLive the question above asking the ECN to use are those with liek Speed or IB

[May 15, 2011 8:33:07 PM EDT] InvestorsLive where you have like 10 routes to pull from

[May 15, 2011 8:33:10 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I always just use ARCA

[May 15, 2011 8:33:17 PM EDT] InvestorsLive however ARCA can’t hit EDGX

[May 15, 2011 8:33:23 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and EDGX can’t hit ARCA

[May 15, 2011 8:33:26 PM EDT] Ironman               with speed fwiw if you use limit smart routes to ARCA you just do not get rebates then

[May 15, 2011 8:33:29 PM EDT] InvestorsLive or take.. for that matter

[May 15, 2011 8:34:03 PM EDT] Ironman               so if your adding liquidity a lot migh tas well just use ARCA

[May 15, 2011 8:34:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: Let say, I get the stock, Is there a timeframe that you have before you have to “buy” the stock back (hopefully at a lower price) to return it? What determines when you have to return the stock? For example do you have to do this within hours or days?

[May 15, 2011 8:34:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive There’s always a risk of a buy in T+3 (on the third day) but if you get an intraday hard to borrow from a prop firm than you need to cover by days end. If you get a hard to borrow then there is a larger chance you can get bought vs. something like GOOG or MSFT which has high supply and easy to borrow. Rarely does it happen and if you’re a trader (ie: in and out within a few hours or days) you don’t really need to worry about it.

[May 15, 2011 8:35:14 PM EDT] InvestorsLive buy in you rarely need to worry about …. if you’re shorting something like LEXG that is a hard to borrow like every morning by 9-9:30AM .. then yes … you may be asking for it

[May 15, 2011 8:35:28 PM EDT] InvestorsLive like JAMN ,..maybe usually out by 8:05AM

[May 15, 2011 8:35:40 PM EDT] Laura yeah I think I’ve only got hurt by forced buy ins once or twice in 3-4 years

[May 15, 2011 8:35:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but I used to have T+3 buyins on a lower float HARD TO BORROw .. SWING

[May 15, 2011 8:35:47 PM EDT] InvestorsLive the key here is SWING

[May 15, 2011 8:35:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if you’re a 1 to couple day trader

[May 15, 2011 8:36:02 PM EDT] Laura yeah, mine were swing

[May 15, 2011 8:36:05 PM EDT] InvestorsLive 1 day .. 2… day max 3. you’re fine

[May 15, 2011 8:36:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if you’re trading regular stuff that’s always avail whenever you look for it … prob won’t have any issues

[May 15, 2011 8:37:00 PM EDT] karen99                sorry, i am confused now. How do you know. Do you get notified?

[May 15, 2011 8:37:09 PM EDT] InvestorsLive yea they email you in AM usually

[May 15, 2011 8:37:13 PM EDT] InvestorsLive potential buyin

[May 15, 2011 8:37:30 PM EDT] Laura yes, email or system message

[May 15, 2011 8:37:31 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but you can always check.. I mean if you are shorting something that has 6k borrows

[May 15, 2011 8:37:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive vs 500k

[May 15, 2011 8:37:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive or 4mil

[May 15, 2011 8:37:50 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ur chance is greater of a buyin

[May 15, 2011 8:38:07 PM EDT] Laura IB is really good for that

[May 15, 2011 8:38:18 PM EDT] Laura if borrow column is red………. ut oh

[May 15, 2011 8:38:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive like I said – last time I got bought in was my San Diego trip July 2010

[May 15, 2011 8:39:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so almost been a year since

[May 15, 2011 8:39:20 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I trade a bit more than the avg Joe, so I think you’re good 🙂

[May 15, 2011 8:39:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any questions on that topic? or sha’ll I move on

[May 15, 2011 8:40:21 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: Is there a strategy conflict in the chat room, when some are saying they are ‘shorting’ a stock, hoping it goes down. And some bought the stock hoping it goes up?

[May 15, 2011 8:40:37 PM EDT] InvestorsLive No, not at all, that’s what makes a market. A shorter can take advantage of over extensions and cover on dips while a long may just hold the full day, or vice versa. There’s nothing wrong with that – after all we all trade differently and it depends what you’re going for.

[May 15, 2011 8:41:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive the last one I remember was REDF

[May 15, 2011 8:41:21 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I was shorting pops

[May 15, 2011 8:41:27 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and covering the pulls

[May 15, 2011 8:41:34 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and bbstock was longing the pulls and selling the pops

[May 15, 2011 8:41:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we were playing opposite each other and both making money

[May 15, 2011 8:41:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive yes its possible

[May 15, 2011 8:42:00 PM EDT] InvestorsLive questions?

[May 15, 2011 8:42:21 PM EDT] karen99                no

[May 15, 2011 8:42:22 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: IL, you mention in one of the beginner seminars, you don’t use stop orders for OTC trades. Can you explain why you don’t?

[May 15, 2011 8:42:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I sell into strength and rarely wait for weakness to hit, as you see many people trading LEXG and JAMN and others – once they turn you can hardly fill which is normal, if a stock turns for the downside and your stop limit triggers you’ll probably fill at bottom. Stops are not a good idea in the OTC world, also what if it triggers on a thin stock that may drop the bid for a minute and you get executed when it goes .20 x .35 for a split second and fill at .20 .. then comes back .30 x .32? Are you happy?

[May 15, 2011 8:43:16 PM EDT] karen99                no

[May 15, 2011 8:43:37 PM EDT] InvestorsLive this coulda happened on a few stocks – and a lot of times that’s what (as a bounce player) I am hoping for

[May 15, 2011 8:43:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive usually ETMM is last out they SUCK at getting fills on panic

[May 15, 2011 8:43:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive they usually sell bottom

[May 15, 2011 8:43:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but

[May 15, 2011 8:44:01 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that’s the person I seek to take advatnage of on a fade/panic

[May 15, 2011 8:44:34 PM EDT] InvestorsLive the ‘dumbazz’ that sells to the bid at .20 when offer is .30 … hell ya I’ll take that all day for a chance to sell .25 to .29

[May 15, 2011 8:44:50 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but at the end of the day that coulda been a stop triggered at .30 to sell at market

[May 15, 2011 8:44:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and that was the first sell.. Woops!

[May 15, 2011 8:45:01 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so that’s why I don’t and don’t suggest using them

[May 15, 2011 8:45:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive questions?

[May 15, 2011 8:45:48 PM EDT] BlackSpoon         can one mitigate that risk by using stop limits?

[May 15, 2011 8:46:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive please note… I’m talking about OTCs here

[May 15, 2011 8:46:20 PM EDT] InvestorsLive not nasdaq

[May 15, 2011 8:46:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if ur trading liquid stocks by all means .. use it if you’re outta the office or don’t have th ability to “sell” into strength and have a hard time with the “sell” part of the trade

[May 15, 2011 8:47:16 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Spoon – ur asking a general question related to stop limits as a whole – I’m talking on OTCs which are illiquid (or should be assumed to be)

[May 15, 2011 8:47:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so 2 part question – 1st question answered above, 2nd part if liquid nasdaq and you’re not monitoring (ie: full timer) … then by all means … do it

[May 15, 2011 8:47:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive on the same note

[May 15, 2011 8:48:10 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: Do you ever use trailing stop orders for any trades or do you stay away from them?

[May 15, 2011 8:48:23 PM EDT] InvestorsLive OTC trades no way, you shouldn’t be an a volatile OTC if you’re not by the PC or watching it – trade Nasdaq if you’re going to be away – at least you’ll have the security of liquidity.

[May 15, 2011 8:49:27 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any questions regarding that stuff?

[May 15, 2011 8:49:36 PM EDT] InvestorsLive only a few more and then I’ll open it up

[May 15, 2011 8:50:20 PM EDT] InvestorsLive going once

[May 15, 2011 8:50:22 PM EDT] InvestorsLive going twice

[May 15, 2011 8:50:34 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: I played both WRIT and MSMY. I sold both positions into the first nice pop. I have heard you mention how many times you hold a core at a lower price and sell partial positions, adding on the dips. To improve my trading I am thinking I should sell half my position and add on the first dip–if it is the first nice pop–I am talking about the first day a stock pops, not some of the more complicated trades. I have fun watching what you all are doing with JAMN/LEXG but that is way beyond my skill level. If you give up your lower priced shares do you play the dips differently?

[May 15, 2011 8:50:57 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Well look at the two you mentioned, if you didn’t on WRIT what would have happened? If you didn’t on MSMY what would have happened? Depends on how they close, if they go out to more list, if the stock jumps up and closes relatively strong or even weak .. and it gaps up in the AM most of the time I just lock in, you can always re buy. You’re comparing cheap pumps to $1 + stocks which you can’t really do. So there isn’t a yes or no answer to your question – I usually take profits in the AM and look for entry through the day.

[May 15, 2011 8:51:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so here’s the thing

[May 15, 2011 8:51:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive how many times do I leave profits on the table

[May 15, 2011 8:51:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive every freaking day !

[May 15, 2011 8:52:00 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so rather than to “wonder” what I could have made

[May 15, 2011 8:52:05 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I take the preditable trade

[May 15, 2011 8:52:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if a pump is ripping, closes strong…. opens up strong … whats going to happen as soon as the first weakness kicks in?

[May 15, 2011 8:52:34 PM EDT] InvestorsLive everyone is going to hit the bid… I have no issue leaving $$ on the table

[May 15, 2011 8:52:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive past month if I did a quick talley between LEXG and JAMN I’m already over $2m left on table

[May 15, 2011 8:52:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive …. O WELL

[May 15, 2011 8:53:03 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we’re here to LOCK in and build our ports

[May 15, 2011 8:53:12 PM EDT] InvestorsLive not wonder what if I held .. how much I could have made

[May 15, 2011 8:53:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if you go back to the OTC seminar I talk a lot about JAMn before and locking in profits in the AM … let LULL do what it does

[May 15, 2011 8:53:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and 2-3pm if it starts to perk back up .. by all means… take it over night

[May 15, 2011 8:54:16 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any questions regarding that question?

[May 15, 2011 8:54:18 PM EDT] Ironman               basically your saying better to say “I should coulda woulda made X” than to say ‘I woulda made X, but now im even or down”

[May 15, 2011 8:54:29 PM EDT] InvestorsLive well

[May 15, 2011 8:54:33 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I shoulda coulda woulda made $100k on AVVC

[May 15, 2011 8:54:38 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but instead ….

[May 15, 2011 8:54:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I woulda rather said I shoulda coulda woulda made

[May 15, 2011 8:54:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive than… say I DID lose…

[May 15, 2011 8:55:06 PM EDT] Ironman               yes thats what im implying

[May 15, 2011 8:55:14 PM EDT] Ironman               i agree

[May 15, 2011 8:55:16 PM EDT] InvestorsLive who cares so many options… who caes I had 25k LEXG .10 off bottom

[May 15, 2011 8:55:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive sh*t!

[May 15, 2011 8:55:26 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but u know what

[May 15, 2011 8:55:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive there was a predictable trade

[May 15, 2011 8:55:37 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and I took it

[May 15, 2011 8:55:40 PM EDT] InvestorsLive the rest was unkown

[May 15, 2011 8:55:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive unknown

[May 15, 2011 8:56:07 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: On your last scan for the 13th you had RMGX. You said to watch for a .25 break. Do we wait for a break of .25 to enter or get as close to the support so our risk is minimal. I entered CTSO where you also mentioned a .25 break. I waited patiently to get a starter position at .21–this has worked out fine and I don’t mind holding it as long as it doesn’t dip below .20. After reading your scan for Friday I wondered it you meant we should wait for the .25 break. I had a nice aha moment when I waited to get the price as close to support as I could. It is so much less nerve wracking.

[May 15, 2011 8:56:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I’d be looking for increased volume near .25 break – it’s a chart break – if it happens I’m interested in anticipating it – if it doesn’t have higher than average volume than I will probably ignore it – however I do know if I see it on scan or volume come in – the chart is already in my memory and I can just snag as soon as I see it trending.

[May 15, 2011 8:56:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive So the key here is – you’ve seen the chart

[May 15, 2011 8:57:03 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if we see it again and it’s testing .25 … where is your head at?

[May 15, 2011 8:57:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive in or out?

[May 15, 2011 8:57:36 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that’s the way I think – if I see it starting to perk up again and it looks to break .25 I will anticipate it knowning my risk is a few cents

[May 15, 2011 8:57:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that’s how I treat these scans

[May 15, 2011 8:57:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive just like DUNR

[May 15, 2011 8:58:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any questions on that subject?

[May 15, 2011 8:59:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive next is last question then opened up

[May 15, 2011 9:00:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive QUESTION: What is thinning? Why is it good? for Uptrending for Downtrending?

[May 15, 2011 9:00:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/838/bork.png

[May 15, 2011 9:01:20 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I realize the volume after thinning up is less but it was the best way to show you thinning up

[May 15, 2011 9:01:30 PM EDT] InvestorsLive same idea same concept

[May 15, 2011 9:01:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive you go from a bunch of peeps on the offer at 1.44 1.47 1.49 1.75 …

[May 15, 2011 9:02:09 PM EDT] InvestorsLive to all of them retreat and it’s only 1 or 2 sellers before power upticks

[May 15, 2011 9:03:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive thinning is good for uptrending because usually predicts

[May 15, 2011 9:03:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive power upticks

[May 15, 2011 9:03:50 PM EDT] InvestorsLive ie: “inch inch breakouts”

[May 15, 2011 9:03:50 PM EDT] Jerome oh so it’s not the bid/ask spread tinnning up but the spread between sellers that shows?

[May 15, 2011 9:03:54 PM EDT] InvestorsLive where I recco taking some profits into

[May 15, 2011 9:04:08 PM EDT] InvestorsLive yea so for exampe ..

[May 15, 2011 9:04:13 PM EDT] InvestorsLive say LEXG traded a bit thinner

[May 15, 2011 9:04:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and it was like 1.75 1.76 1.76 1.77 1.78 1.78 1.79 1.80

[May 15, 2011 9:04:33 PM EDT] InvestorsLive on offer

[May 15, 2011 9:04:40 PM EDT] InvestorsLive then all of a suddent went

[May 15, 2011 9:04:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive 1.81 1.89 and $2s lined up

[May 15, 2011 9:04:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that in MY MIND would be thinning up

[May 15, 2011 9:04:57 PM EDT] InvestorsLive lined up at $2

[May 15, 2011 9:05:12 PM EDT] InvestorsLive more than likely on that 1.80 break… you’ll see an “air gap” breakout to $2

[May 15, 2011 9:05:21 PM EDT] InvestorsLive or take JAMN last week

[May 15, 2011 9:05:27 PM EDT] InvestorsLive started ‘thinning up’

[May 15, 2011 9:05:30 PM EDT] InvestorsLive you saw before 6

[May 15, 2011 9:05:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive at 5.50

[May 15, 2011 9:05:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive then 5.59 x 5.60 then 5.78 was next offer

[May 15, 2011 9:05:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive .18 cent between offers?

[May 15, 2011 9:06:02 PM EDT] InvestorsLive vs 5.60 5.61 5.61 5.62 5.65 5.65 5.66 5.69 5.70 etc

[May 15, 2011 9:06:05 PM EDT] InvestorsLive whihc we normally see

[May 15, 2011 9:06:13 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that’s what i SEE on level 2 when I saw it

[May 15, 2011 9:06:28 PM EDT] InvestorsLive make sense?

[May 15, 2011 9:06:30 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Jermone?

[May 15, 2011 9:06:38 PM EDT] Jerome Yah

[May 15, 2011 9:06:41 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Jerome*

[May 15, 2011 9:07:07 PM EDT] Thatcher              so in the BORK pic, it’s that the asks in the right column went from 1.44, 1.47, etc to 1.44, 1.75, 5.00, right? That’s thinning up?

[May 15, 2011 9:07:16 PM EDT] ramkia  Ah, that was the confusion volume can go up or dn but ‘thinning’ is the no of peeps on offer?

[May 15, 2011 9:07:25 PM EDT] Jerome I thought thinning up was when you got a large spread between bid/ask getting smaller

[May 15, 2011 9:07:35 PM EDT] Jerome thanks

[May 15, 2011 9:08:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive yes Thathcer I always mention it in chat – so if you’re watching th same stock you’ll see it …. plus I’ve been learning the Camtasia stuff

[May 15, 2011 9:08:09 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I’ll try to record some active stuff

[May 15, 2011 9:08:20 PM EDT] Thatcher              cool, thanks

[May 15, 2011 9:08:23 PM EDT] Derffie  is that thinking up as opposed to thining down .. or is it the same…

[May 15, 2011 9:08:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Jerome- that is eventually what happens

[May 15, 2011 9:08:26 PM EDT] Derffie  thinking

[May 15, 2011 9:08:31 PM EDT] InvestorsLive for example

[May 15, 2011 9:08:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive once it thins up…

[May 15, 2011 9:08:36 PM EDT] Jerome got it, make sense

[May 15, 2011 9:08:37 PM EDT] InvestorsLive what happens next

[May 15, 2011 9:08:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive offers get taken… then…

[May 15, 2011 9:08:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive uptic .. .012

[May 15, 2011 9:08:47 PM EDT] InvestorsLive .01

[May 15, 2011 9:08:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive .05…

[May 15, 2011 9:08:50 PM EDT] InvestorsLive .10 spike

[May 15, 2011 9:08:52 PM EDT] InvestorsLive etc

[May 15, 2011 9:08:58 PM EDT] InvestorsLive then you call that “inch inch breakout”

[May 15, 2011 9:10:07 PM EDT] Thatcher              finally I have an idea how to use level 2!

[May 15, 2011 9:10:13 PM EDT] InvestorsLive 🙂

[May 15, 2011 9:10:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any further questions guys?

[May 15, 2011 9:10:26 PM EDT] ramkia  Thinning -> No of discrete levels go down so power upticks (larger spacing between)

[May 15, 2011 9:10:28 PM EDT] nube48 got it

[May 15, 2011 9:10:32 PM EDT] MR1210                How often does that spike hold from .05 to .10. Is there often a quick run of offers to fill the gap and bring the price back down?

[May 15, 2011 9:10:33 PM EDT] stefan   if your not in the trade yet, and you start to see thinning… is it to late to enter?

[May 15, 2011 9:10:50 PM EDT] Laura No. L2 makes me want to blow my brains out.

[May 15, 2011 9:11:08 PM EDT] av8tor   lol

[May 15, 2011 9:11:10 PM EDT] Ironman               lol L why?

[May 15, 2011 9:11:16 PM EDT] InvestorsLive MR1210 – no idea, that’s why I take some off into inch inch breakout

[May 15, 2011 9:11:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if you ever find out that answer lemme know!

[May 15, 2011 9:11:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive cuz I’ll sell out at top every time

[May 15, 2011 9:11:33 PM EDT] InvestorsLive 🙂

[May 15, 2011 9:11:48 PM EDT] MR1210                I’ll get to work on that!

[May 15, 2011 9:11:53 PM EDT] InvestorsLive stefan – usually when it starts to thin up is when fills get hard …

[May 15, 2011 9:11:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and you’ll see everyone say “ugh I didn’t fill”

[May 15, 2011 9:11:59 PM EDT] InvestorsLive etc

[May 15, 2011 9:12:04 PM EDT] stefan   ok

[May 15, 2011 9:12:12 PM EDT] InvestorsLive btw – like Laura said.. not everyone uses Level 2

[May 15, 2011 9:12:13 PM EDT] Jerome I don’t know how one can follow L2 on an active Naz… you got to be realllly trained imp

[May 15, 2011 9:12:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive she didnt say that but that’s why she implied

[May 15, 2011 9:12:21 PM EDT] InvestorsLive you don’t need it

[May 15, 2011 9:12:23 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but

[May 15, 2011 9:12:27 PM EDT] InvestorsLive as an OTC trader .. I do

[May 15, 2011 9:12:36 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and those who trade OTCs … should get used to it but

[May 15, 2011 9:12:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive there is no right or wrong answer and it’s all about YOU learning it

[May 15, 2011 9:12:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and YOU reviewing it

[May 15, 2011 9:12:53 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and YOU seeing the same stuff over and over

[May 15, 2011 9:13:06 PM EDT] vireoli    so what do you do to avoid not getting filled up when ticker is thinning up?

[May 15, 2011 9:13:10 PM EDT] InvestorsLive its not about what so and so said … it’s about YOU getting used to it and developing a method off what you see

[May 15, 2011 9:13:29 PM EDT] InvestorsLive vireoli- that’s easy just don’t place a buy

[May 15, 2011 9:14:11 PM EDT] InvestorsLive it’s just a way in which I describe the action you see on the 1 min chart

[May 15, 2011 9:14:14 PM EDT] InvestorsLive you’ll see it over and over

[May 15, 2011 9:14:40 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I’m sure many can vouch for me ….

[May 15, 2011 9:14:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive we see thinning up and inch inch breakout

[May 15, 2011 9:14:47 PM EDT] InvestorsLive often….

[May 15, 2011 9:15:06 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and usually point it out so folks can see it over and over

[May 15, 2011 9:15:23 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and can learn from what the level 2 looks like and action … so they can apply it to their own trading

[May 15, 2011 9:15:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive its basically taking advantage of a pop in price action before it consolidates and either breaks out further or lower

[May 15, 2011 9:15:54 PM EDT] vantillian              hey all

[May 15, 2011 9:16:17 PM EDT] InvestorsLive most of the time worst case scenario you can re buy same price … but many times you’ll be able to snag lower after it consolidates

[May 15, 2011 9:16:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any further questions for tonight? lotta OTCs we discuss but Nasdaq or any others?

[May 15, 2011 9:17:03 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any F-ups you made last week that wondering where u went wrong? etc

[May 15, 2011 9:17:14 PM EDT] jonthegreek1    Is there any youtube videos or other videos that show recordings of charts during the day and explain how to read them to look for moves up or down? I am really struggling with chart reading to find my own plays.

[May 15, 2011 9:17:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I would review basica technical analysis

[May 15, 2011 9:17:51 PM EDT] InvestorsLive basic

[May 15, 2011 9:17:55 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that’s what really will help you

[May 15, 2011 9:18:11 PM EDT] InvestorsLive once you have a strong understanding of what NORMALLY happens.. after certain set ups

[May 15, 2011 9:18:11 PM EDT] Ironman               stockcharts.com has all types of patterns etc. great to learn there

[May 15, 2011 9:18:13 PM EDT] jonthegreek1    ok so just google for that

[May 15, 2011 9:18:25 PM EDT] jonthegreek1    thanks Ironman

[May 15, 2011 9:18:34 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I mean – the other thing jon i don’t know how far you’ve gone back in seminars

[May 15, 2011 9:18:34 PM EDT] InvestorsLive but

[May 15, 2011 9:18:35 PM EDT] Breadwinner      yea. one f up for me IL. i bought FBCD at .071 it went down to .06xx. i longed for 3 days or so. so first thing that morning. later, the same day, last friday, it closed about my buy.

[May 15, 2011 9:18:42 PM EDT] jonthegreek1    my number one big problem is i cannot find my own plays

[May 15, 2011 9:18:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I’ve screen captured literally every single breakout pattern

[May 15, 2011 9:18:44 PM EDT] Ironman               have everything from definitions, patterns, etc etc etc all u will need

[May 15, 2011 9:18:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive to be aware of

[May 15, 2011 9:18:48 PM EDT] Breadwinner      is there anyway to predict that, or is that just part of the game

[May 15, 2011 9:18:56 PM EDT] Jerome The “Technical Analysis in different timeframes” book is good…

[May 15, 2011 9:19:17 PM EDT] InvestorsLive well we discussed that one Bread – you know that went straight up from .03 and you brought a random breakout – that’s preventable we went over that part

[May 15, 2011 9:19:19 PM EDT] Ironman               on top of IL’s powerpoints of course, but was assumin gyou already looked at those

[May 15, 2011 9:19:36 PM EDT] InvestorsLive the key thing in chat too – almost once a day I’ll say

[May 15, 2011 9:19:41 PM EDT] InvestorsLive “take a look at XYZ chart”

[May 15, 2011 9:19:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive “TEXTBOOK”

[May 15, 2011 9:19:57 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if I say that … it’s one of the 3 charts in that 3 fav set ups under the new member page

[May 15, 2011 9:20:10 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and the reason I do it is so u can see how the set up plays out

[May 15, 2011 9:20:45 PM EDT] MR1210                Can you explain what a “beat chart” is? I can’t seem to find a definition for this term.

[May 15, 2011 9:21:03 PM EDT] jonthegreek1    ok great i just feel bad just following and hoping for you to tell us when to buy and sell…. I know its wrong but its all i have so far

[May 15, 2011 9:21:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive beat chart – take a look at the chart is it down from way high?

[May 15, 2011 9:21:28 PM EDT] InvestorsLive aka “baet”

[May 15, 2011 9:21:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive simple as that

[May 15, 2011 9:21:52 PM EDT] InvestorsLive when we mention .. or I mention pull up 3-6 month chart

[May 15, 2011 9:22:03 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and you’ll see it came from teens to dollars or teens to cents

[May 15, 2011 9:22:08 PM EDT] InvestorsLive make sense?

[May 15, 2011 9:22:22 PM EDT] MR1210                The virtue is it may have the potential to run again?

[May 15, 2011 9:22:26 PM EDT] InvestorsLive like LEXG last week

[May 15, 2011 9:22:27 PM EDT] Thatcher              it’s the opposite of “sick” 🙂

[May 15, 2011 9:22:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive … WAYYYYYYY beat

[May 15, 2011 9:22:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive straight down from $10 with no ‘real’ bounce

[May 15, 2011 9:22:47 PM EDT] InvestorsLive man that was a gift that sell off into open there

[May 15, 2011 9:23:01 PM EDT] Ironman               likw AMSC pretty much beat chart right now

[May 15, 2011 9:23:10 PM EDT] Ironman               shoul done day come into play

[May 15, 2011 9:23:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive AMSC ya .. pretty beat chart but like if that same chart was in $5s

[May 15, 2011 9:23:50 PM EDT] InvestorsLive thats a waaaaay beat

[May 15, 2011 9:23:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and any upside and volume

[May 15, 2011 9:24:02 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I’d def be long biased when the bids start popping back

[May 15, 2011 9:24:15 PM EDT] Ironman               yes i mean we coul dbe playign it at 5 few motnhs from now:)

[May 15, 2011 9:24:29 PM EDT] Ironman               just wait for it to tell us when its ready

[May 15, 2011 9:25:28 PM EDT] Cocajohnny        I find trading the open is much harder for me than later inthe day. Are there any specific strategies use you use for the open, or how do you look to trade the open vs later in the day? I find stocks are so choppy and will rip in one direction just to quickly turn around and head in the other direction – it becomes real hard to predict anything

[May 15, 2011 9:25:46 PM EDT] Jerome Nate, when you mention Crazypenny, are they “awesomepennystocks” now?

[May 15, 2011 9:25:58 PM EDT] Jerome or still crazy

[May 15, 2011 9:26:06 PM EDT] Jerome cannot find em

[May 15, 2011 9:26:09 PM EDT] Ironman               just let the stock trade out coca and setup, develop levels and a pattern or trend

[May 15, 2011 9:26:17 PM EDT] Ironman               you dont hav eto trade at 930

[May 15, 2011 9:26:49 PM EDT] InvestorsLive yea Coca – open = scalps

[May 15, 2011 9:26:53 PM EDT] InvestorsLive then let the trades set up

[May 15, 2011 9:27:08 PM EDT] InvestorsLive wait for things to set up in ways your familiar with

[May 15, 2011 9:27:21 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I usually trade first 5-15 minutes on big over extensions or panic drops

[May 15, 2011 9:27:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive for quick scalps

[May 15, 2011 9:27:46 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Jerome – yea crazypenny was first site – all of the rest of the sites I refer to sister sites of crazy

[May 15, 2011 9:28:27 PM EDT] Cocajohnny        i see alright thx

[May 15, 2011 9:28:53 PM EDT] Jerome ok, cuz when I google crazypenny it brings me to awesomepennystocks

[May 15, 2011 9:29:04 PM EDT] Ironman               coca a lot of times many do not trade until 10, 1030, 11am just waiting patiently for that setup.

[May 15, 2011 9:29:27 PM EDT] Ironman               save u headache and unecessary losses also, lot of times

[May 15, 2011 9:30:14 PM EDT] Cocajohnny        yea ive found my stats go up once I begin trading after 11. I just dont want to resort not learning to trade at the open though, that would be a weakness in my trading

[May 15, 2011 9:30:19 PM EDT] InvestorsLive yea Jerome original crazy list is closed

[May 15, 2011 9:30:27 PM EDT] InvestorsLive yea Coca – the best thing first 15 min is scalps

[May 15, 2011 9:30:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if I see an opp I’ll take it

[May 15, 2011 9:30:36 PM EDT] Ironman               especially on a nice ripper out th eopen, get huge rip, pull then one more lotta times will fade away around 11-1130 then

[May 15, 2011 9:30:37 PM EDT] InvestorsLive otherwise just settle

[May 15, 2011 9:30:38 PM EDT] InvestorsLive wait for it

[May 15, 2011 9:30:41 PM EDT] InvestorsLive absorb it

[May 15, 2011 9:30:50 PM EDT] InvestorsLive any other questions guys?

[May 15, 2011 9:31:02 PM EDT] AlexL     Have you noticed anything different with the new OTC L2 rules… I meen, the numbers are different but they still seem fake, some dont budge just like the old 5k offers.

[May 15, 2011 9:31:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I know you’re all writing reviews on investimonails and not answering questions …. but

[May 15, 2011 9:31:05 PM EDT] vin4356 IL, do u trade before hour?

[May 15, 2011 9:31:08 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I’m here now and can answer :0

[May 15, 2011 9:31:18 PM EDT] Breadwinner      one quick question from me. how long do you hold, at a loss, before you decide to sell and just take the L?

[May 15, 2011 9:31:48 PM EDT] InvestorsLive yes Alex – we went over that in chat – some show min bid size ETMM UBSS NITE and AUTO are showing full sizes

[May 15, 2011 9:32:17 PM EDT] AlexL     no real advantage or dis advantage though?

[May 15, 2011 9:32:30 PM EDT] stefan   once you decide to enter a trade with small spread, are you hitting the ask or sitting at bid?

[May 15, 2011 9:32:36 PM EDT] Ironman               real adavntage is watching tape, what actually is filling……jmo

[May 15, 2011 9:32:50 PM EDT] Ironman               that ha smade me 10x bette rtrader

[May 15, 2011 9:33:07 PM EDT] Ironman               on all exchanges that is also

[May 15, 2011 9:33:25 PM EDT] InvestorsLive eh, not sure yet Alex, has been fine so far

[May 15, 2011 9:33:35 PM EDT] InvestorsLive will be interesting on big tanks but still seems relatively the same

[May 15, 2011 9:33:39 PM EDT] InvestorsLive like the JAMN bounces and stuff

[May 15, 2011 9:33:45 PM EDT] InvestorsLive its def different but nothing crazy

[May 15, 2011 9:33:53 PM EDT] AlexL     Cool, Havent been to active since the rules changed

[May 15, 2011 9:33:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive (May 15-21:31) vin4356: IL, do u trade before hour? // not sure what this means

[May 15, 2011 9:34:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive (May 15-21:32) stefan: once you decide to enter a trade with small spread, are you hitting the ask or sitting at bid? // depends on the trade/volume if I want to be in I take the offer .. if I’m patiently trying to bid for it then I’ll sit bid

[May 15, 2011 9:34:27 PM EDT] vin4356 means pre-market

[May 15, 2011 9:34:44 PM EDT] InvestorsLive oh, do I trade pre-market? .. sometimes vin

[May 15, 2011 9:34:47 PM EDT] InvestorsLive not always

[May 15, 2011 9:34:58 PM EDT] InvestorsLive kinda like to just absorb

[May 15, 2011 9:35:01 PM EDT] Ironman               last summer like everyday:)

[May 15, 2011 9:35:07 PM EDT] Ironman               gaps were so crazy

[May 15, 2011 9:35:17 PM EDT] Ironman               LVS

[May 15, 2011 9:35:26 PM EDT] InvestorsLive (May 15-21:31) Breadwinner: one quick question from me. how long do you hold, at a loss, before you decide to sell and just take the L? // 3 hours 14 minutes 27 seconds

[May 15, 2011 9:35:30 PM EDT] Jerome VRML this thing was nuts this week after hours

[May 15, 2011 9:36:03 PM EDT] Cocajohnny        Ironman you mentioned watching the tape, this can be answered by anyone – what specific qualities are you looking for from both the book and the tape to deduce direction in a stock? Rate of the orders firing?

[May 15, 2011 9:36:06 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Bread – it depends, what’s ur game plan going in, what’s your loss parameter ? .. what is too much for you? is $100 a big loss is $500 a big loss? What is your loss you set forth with?

[May 15, 2011 9:36:21 PM EDT] InvestorsLive stick to it, if u go in a trade for a reason and it doesnt work out – take it off

[May 15, 2011 9:36:32 PM EDT] InvestorsLive there’s no “time”

[May 15, 2011 9:36:41 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if you start hoping – just sell

[May 15, 2011 9:37:05 PM EDT] Breadwinner      yea. but i’ve noticed just about everytime i sell, because i’ve meet my loss parameter, it goes up almost instantly

[May 15, 2011 9:37:29 PM EDT] Breadwinner      almost. not all. a few continued to fall

[May 15, 2011 9:37:39 PM EDT] Breadwinner      thank

[May 15, 2011 9:37:40 PM EDT] Breadwinner      s

[May 15, 2011 9:37:48 PM EDT] Ironman               have to have an oh sh*t level somewhere

[May 15, 2011 9:37:53 PM EDT] Ironman               happens to all of us

[May 15, 2011 9:37:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive well then play 1/2 size Bread

[May 15, 2011 9:38:01 PM EDT] InvestorsLive or focus on ur entries more

[May 15, 2011 9:38:04 PM EDT] InvestorsLive rather than chasing

[May 15, 2011 9:38:08 PM EDT] InvestorsLive sounds like a chaser to me

[May 15, 2011 9:38:11 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if you’re runnng into that issue

[May 15, 2011 9:38:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive more times than not

[May 15, 2011 9:38:31 PM EDT] InvestorsLive sounds like u emotionally chase the entry rather than wait for it

[May 15, 2011 9:38:39 PM EDT] Breadwinner      ok. i’ll go over the setups again tonight.

[May 15, 2011 9:38:42 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if you’re buying off support – than you’ll only run into that issue if it breaks support

[May 15, 2011 9:38:48 PM EDT] luckykip                Bread- IL’s best asdvice he’s giving is that u must have a plan that fit’s ur risk/reward parameters… never hold and hope.

[May 15, 2011 9:39:01 PM EDT] Breadwinner      got it lucky

[May 15, 2011 9:40:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive anything else guys?

[May 15, 2011 9:43:37 PM EDT] nube48 thanks

[May 15, 2011 9:43:42 PM EDT] Cocajohnny        What qualities do you look for when reading the tape and book to deduce information about the direction of the stock beside the rate ofthe orders firing and the spread?

[May 15, 2011 9:43:50 PM EDT] Jerome now, do you still recommend BST?

[May 15, 2011 9:44:01 PM EDT] InvestorsLive I doubled my account there last week Jerome!

[May 15, 2011 9:44:57 PM EDT] InvestorsLive it depends I mean if you’re active they’ll find the borrow for you or make calls etc

[May 15, 2011 9:45:06 PM EDT] Jerome PDT is messing with me too much and I’m missing so many oppt

[May 15, 2011 9:45:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if you place 1 trade a week .. doesnt quite make sense to take 10 min calling for borrows

[May 15, 2011 9:45:20 PM EDT] wcwc69                haha Americans

[May 15, 2011 9:45:20 PM EDT] InvestorsLive to find you one

[May 15, 2011 9:45:51 PM EDT] InvestorsLive Coca – no answer to ur question just watch it which the action (level 2/charts/time and sales) and develop anything you can from it

[May 15, 2011 9:45:55 PM EDT] InvestorsLive there is no right or wrong answer for you

[May 15, 2011 9:46:01 PM EDT] InvestorsLive nothing we say is going to help you with that

[May 15, 2011 9:46:05 PM EDT] InvestorsLive thats why I don’t cover/stress about it

[May 15, 2011 9:46:08 PM EDT] InvestorsLive just like level2

[May 15, 2011 9:46:17 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if I say VERT this WDCO that .. people will apply that to EVERY situation

[May 15, 2011 9:46:23 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and totally over think and screw up

[May 15, 2011 9:46:40 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so its best you watch the action as things happen and develop your own method

[May 15, 2011 9:46:43 PM EDT] InvestorsLive and over time you’ll “get it”

[May 15, 2011 9:46:47 PM EDT] Cocajohnny        truw

[May 15, 2011 9:46:51 PM EDT] Cocajohnny        true

[May 15, 2011 9:47:04 PM EDT] Jerome yeah… a real game of patience

[May 15, 2011 9:47:18 PM EDT] dogfooddog       often you will see vert wdco in reversed roles from stock to stock

[May 15, 2011 9:47:21 PM EDT] Ironman               level 2 action on nasdaq and OTC rare way diff also. if anyone traded ABIO you would have noticed soemthin gthere early on

[May 15, 2011 9:47:30 PM EDT] Ironman               that i did at least

[May 15, 2011 9:48:07 PM EDT] Ironman               2.15 had a like 36.500 share seller and he was “real” couldnt get many to hit him

[May 15, 2011 9:48:15 PM EDT] Ironman               on time and sale su see this

[May 15, 2011 9:48:43 PM EDT] Ironman               then later on came back there and he was still there but u seen the shares go through on time and sales and it was game on after that

[May 15, 2011 9:49:08 PM EDT] Ironman               lotta times those guys be fake trying to get shares etc

[May 15, 2011 9:49:16 PM EDT] InvestorsLive yea but that’s just another way you say that… and another time 36k may be top

[May 15, 2011 9:49:18 PM EDT] InvestorsLive then 50k refreshes etc

[May 15, 2011 9:49:19 PM EDT] Ironman               but he wasnt then well we went to 2.80

[May 15, 2011 9:49:24 PM EDT] InvestorsLive so .. its more price action that matters

[May 15, 2011 9:49:33 PM EDT] Jerome Thank you very much Nate for your time! great infos!

[May 15, 2011 9:49:34 PM EDT] InvestorsLive that’s why level 2 and time and sales comes 2nd

[May 15, 2011 9:53:56 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if you don’t want a fill use AON

[May 15, 2011 9:54:15 PM EDT] InvestorsLive if you want a fill use limit and send to offer
